I haven't seen William B Davis (aka the smoking man) in anything except The X Files, so naturally I'm going to assume he's somehow the real villain in this story.

Only 924 theaters in the United States showed this theatrically unfortunately. It definitely deserved a bigger release. It was really good.

This looks good, but the Black Christmas remake was one of the hardest movies to watch all the way through. I have never been so bored, angry, and annoyed while watching a movie. I have never hated a movie as much as I hated that movie, I had to force myself to watch it to the end, the movie is less then an hour but it took me all day to watch, I kept pausing it for hours at a time to give myself a palette cleanser. So saying from the producers of Black Christmas is just an instant red flag for me. Have never seen Freaky, so don’t know if it’s good or not.

If the "Executive Producers of Black Christmas" they're referring to is the 2019 remake...then all I have to say is, already looks a shitload better than that movie.
But in all seriousness this does look like a fun movie. If the "Grinch" can have a horror comedy, why not "It's A Wonderful Life".

I'd argue that the Halloween trilogy is to thank for the slasher revival tbh.
The last Halloween films were meh. 2018 was decent.

Despite it not being a slasher, I owe this brand of horror remake/revival more to movies like "It" because "It: Chapter 1" absolutely DOMINATED at the box office, and IMO, made people want to remake classics horror novels/films. That was 2017. The next few years the Halloween franchise dominated; then came the Scream franchise. HOWEVER, all these films owe a lot to the previous decade, movies like The Conjuring, Paranormal Activity, etc that made horror popular again in general. But I think once horror is #1 at the box office - and It: Chapter 1 has done better than ALL the movies I've mentioned, then Hollywood really pays attention. Hence, the recent wave of horror/slasher films. Horror is just in and has been in for the past 5 years. I'd say it's THE genre that dominates the box office the most. And so many other genres WANT to be horror. So you can be watching say an action film (John Wick) and suddenly the violence is VERY reminiscent of what you used to mostly see in the horror genre.@@lucasthornhill

Alright, I just got back from a night showing of this movie here. Premiere before it came out and let me tell you, it was definitely worth it even though me and my friend were the only 2 in the entire theater to see it that is definitely worth going to say I think that's gonna be the new Halloween costume for next year. It is definitely worth it. It's gotten. Action to it to keep you entertained a little humor to it and very, very good movie. I give a 13 out of 13 skulls and say. Definitely check this movie out.

This movie was garbage! I thought I was not going to like Thanksgiving but I like that movie better than its a Wonderful Knife and I’m not even the biggest fan of Eli Roth but his movie is a masterpiece compared to this crap.
Writers can't come up with their own stories anymore so they take movie classics and ruin them by making them into something they were not meant to be. What are they gonna do next take the 'Ten Commandments or The Greatest Story Ever Told' and make them into hacker movies.

Looks fun, but considering it's a parody of It's A Wonderful Life I feel it's just going to follow that story beat for beat but with horror elements instead. Would love to be proved wrong because having the same emotional hits of character realising the joys of life will be tiresome, even if the actors sell it well.
Wow. You're fun at parties. It's a slasher. Even with the same theme, it's not going to be a repeat of Wonderful Life. That's like saying Groundhog Day and Happy Death Day are the same movie. One's a classic fil, the other is black comedy slasher HOMAGE.

With your two examples, you look at both stories and they play out the same way-awful/selfish person learns the error of their ways-the films just have genre and aesthetic differences. It does seem weird when they're all sort of genre mash-ups: time loop (the dude references Groundhog Day at the end of HDD), body swap comedy, and this is the horror version of It's a Wonderful Life. They do all seem same-y and predictable, but if they're executed well then I won't be too bothered. It's never too bad to have some spins on the horror genre to keep it fresh, I just personally wish they'd do more with the stories.

It's a R rated slasher movie, WITHOUT the gory violent scenes, there would be NO movie. It was a good movie because of those scenes for those who like gore and violence.

why does it seem like miscegenators are always being targeted in this latest rash or horror movies? something definitely wrong with that. And by "that", I of course mean miscegenation. This one - much like the forthcoming "Night Swim" - is a definite watch for me for that reason alone.
