  • The plaintiff brings his son-in-law to court. He loaned the defendant thousands of dollars to help buy a house, but he hasn’t been paid back, so he’s suing. The defendant argues he had to use the money to pay for his wife’s rehab instead, which is the reason why he and his wife couldn’t buy the house.

I understand that she didn't approach her parents and ask for the loan but they are married and but for the simple fact that she went on a binge and had to go into rehab they would have gotten the home, they didn't get the home as a direct result of the wife's actions so why should she not be partially liable for the loan!

Leaves the husband (and father of the children) to deal with the fallout . Yes, it takes two to tango, the father of the kids is human, too and her folks aren’t making anything better by suing him . They have only made matters worse. Again, most of these series of unfortunate events hinge on her out of control behavior. Ultimately, she chose alcohol and drugs over everything else in life.

Is it just me? Or does the idea of the kids being placed with the parents who raised the mother who has not only violent aggressive behavior but also addiction problems worrisome😮l

No matter the surrounding circumstances the defendant owes jointly or severally because they didn't use the money for the intended purpose. Now the plaintiff is about to mess himself out of relationship with his grandkids by not allowing the dad visitation. Court is gonna award him custody and he should keep them away from them because they will ruin them against him. The dad needs a support system.

Rehab is usually 20k minimum for a typical 30 days. How he found one for a few thousand is truly amazing.

I couldn't have taken him to court bc he chose to try to help my child over settling our debt. 😢

I don't know if it's the same person or not but there was a 34 year old woman who had two children with parents named Alice and Keith Kirton. She passed in May, 2020 with no husband listed.

Unless those kids are in danger with their father there is no reason cps should have taken them from him. I hope he gets sole custody and never lets them go back with them. He is concerned that this man wants to move work HIS KIDS! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!

I think the care of the daughter/wife is more important than a $4000 loan/gift.

I really don't understand why the judge always digs into people's personal business asking questions about things that have nothing to do with the case. Instead of just getting to the point. But then again she probably did it for ratings.

I bet the Grandparents are hiding the daughter to lay the process until they get an upper hand.

His daughter's alcohol problem is due to her parents not allowing her to own up to her addictions. The father is oblivious to the fact that his daughter is the problem. Even if she goes to rehab no family court judge is going to give her shared custody of the children. She'll definitely get visiting rights but it will probably be supervised visitations.
