- The plaintiff brings his son-in-law to court. He loaned the defendant thousands of dollars to help buy a house, but he hasn’t been paid back, so he’s suing. The defendant argues he had to use the money to pay for his wife’s rehab instead, which is the reason why he and his wife couldn’t buy the house.

"He gave her alcohol"? Really? I hope this dad gets custody. She fights in rehab and her father still blames the father. Unbelievable. Mothers are not always they best parent.
i got so mad at the comment by the plaintiff!! i was with an alcoholic for years. every time he relapsed his family blamed me. "you let him drink" you mean i came home from work and he was piss ass drunk randomly after months of being sober? you cant babysit an adult 24/7. if they want to drink, theyll find a way.
Right?! She’s an adult. Nobody gave her alcohol. 🙄 That dad should have his kids.
Mothers have never 'always' been the best parent. Fathers have been screwed over for decades due to that thinking.
Nobody makes you drink.
@@rachexlI hear you 🙏
The fact that the plaintiff couldn’t even give legitimate reason the dad shouldn’t have his kids said enough for me. Those poor kids.
You get screwed over by your wife AND THEN get screwed over by her parents too. Jesus
Where do you think she learned it from???
That husband looks so defeated .shame on those inlaws for suing him .Greedy greedy if they were going to sue they could have waited until things were a little more stable in his life. As for him giving her alchol that is so stupid ,if an alcholis wants to drink they will find a way . Those parents are horrible Those poor children .Why do people always care more about themselves and their vindictiveness than about the children?
Wow!!! That plaintiff is trash! If it's anyone's fault his daughter is an alcoholic, it's his. NOT her husband's. HE raised her!
If anybody is at "fault" for somebody being an alcoholic, it's themselves. What ever happened to personal responsibility? Who's fault was her sleeping with the Uber driver? She's an adult.
@@questioneverything8572absolutely agree .. they are both looking to blame anyone but the person responsible. She chose knowing she is an addict to pick up that’s on her
😂😂😂
@@questioneverything8572 You are right that it is her fault for drinking and taking drugs, but parents do have a very big influence on how their children turn out. I would say by the plaintiffs demeanor the daughter lived a very privileged life where the parents just allowed her to do as wished.
@@mickm6309also I’m sure the plaintiff has money for a better lawyer and that’s the main reason they can dangle the kids over the dads head that’s some bs for sure hopefully the dad gets it’s straightened out
Wow, the father (plaintiff) is absolute garbage.
What did he do? Besides loaning those losers 4K?
@@jimmorrison9656 those losers?? I dunno, the plaintiffs daughter sounds like the loser to me. I feel bad for the defendant. I also can’t believe the grandparents aren’t allowing the husband to see his kids….
Blaming someone else for his daughter's actions while also holding the grandkids hostage? beyond selfish & evil.
@@jimmorrison9656 his daughter is the loser
The father of the daughter is ungrateful for what the son in law tried to do for their daughter.
AGREED!
I would call the police and tell them the kids have been kidnapped. I would make sure the wife loses custody of the kids.
And you would go to jail
You'd make a fake police report knowing it's false? 🗑
asap!!!
Unfortunately, it wouldn't help because the grandparents have a temporary custody order.
@@kimberlyadorno280 Its also illegal to make a false police report, so yeah it doesn't help to commit a crime while lying about a crime
this case def needs a follow up episode.
These grandparents are horrible. To take away the man’s children because YOUR daughter is an alcoholic is ridiculous. Spiteful and childish behaviour.
I highly doubt the father is truly capable of taking care of the kids. They probably took the kids for their own benefit
Since we’re assigning blame for another’s person’s addiction - I’d say with the way the parents are acting, they’re most likely the reason the daughters a drug addict.
I am truly saddened by this case I hope the son-in-law gets custody of the kids.
This is crazy…. Your daughter is screwed up but you think your fit enough to raise your grandchildren and keep them from their father… and then have the nerve to blame her husband for her drinking problem… I hope the father gets them kids and takes them all the way to New Mexico away from that crazy family.. 😒
Immediately!
💯!!!
Those parents are doing worse harm on their daughter by keeping those kids. Not to mention the kids. They should be with dad.
Just a few thousand? Work to pay it off yourself or expect strings. The plaintiff seems vindictive and even blames the defendant for the daughter's drinking. That's the very definition of enabling. But keeping the kids is an outrage unless the man is also unstable.
Plaintiff is blaming everyone for his failure to parent, bet even his wife, the mother, has been blamed for her husband's failure to be a parent.
“He gave her alcohol”
She took it! I hope the father gains custody.
The grandparents seem to be the enablers, in my opinion ...
I'm still waiting for a valid reason they're keeping the father away from his children
The defedant's wife's father is a dirtbag. He blames everyone else, bet even his wife, the defendant's wife's mother, for the daughter(plaintiffs) for her addictions. Hope the defendant gets custody and keeps the child far from grandfather.
The plaintiff has the nerve to sue his son-in-law ???
Even if it's true about him giving her alcohol how does that prove he is not a fit father? They didn't raise their daughter right how will they raise two babies
I hope the defendant got his kids back soon after this and ran off with them somewhere safe where the wife and inlaws never found them!! Those "parents"/plaintiff are disgusting human beings!!! Now we know why the wife is an alcoholic. They raised her!
I hope the defendant gets his kids back and keeps them away from that nasty family.
I love the comment section as much as the actual video
everyone is so honest in their interpretations of the case,
I learn much, Thank you😎
Father holding husband responsible for daughter’s decisions? Bad father. I’m thinking more about those kids than the debt the guy clearly owes.
I also disagree with the judge on not holding the wife half responsible for the loan! I understand that she didn't approach her parents and ask for the loan but they are married and but for the simple fact that she went on a binge and had to go into rehab they would have gotten the home, they didn't get the home as a direct result of the wife's actions so why should she not be partially liable for the loan!
He screwed up raising his own daughter, and now he wants a chance to screw up his grandkids as well. Absolutely insane.
It's everyone fault but the daughter you better get a good lawyer because Grandpa seems vindictive
Giving her alcohol is hearsay. She can get alcohol with or without his help. Mind blowing
Terrible grandparents! To keep them from their father for absolutely no reason is just wrong. The defendant is the only parent who seems to have his shit together, and yet they're fighting to keep their grandkids away?? They're wrong on so many levels. Causing unnecessary trauma to those poor kids as well. All for a mother who clearly doesn't care to be a present parent. I hope he gets his kids back. He didn't do anything wrong to lose them in the first place!
Sad case. Sad. Sad. Sad!
- the plaintiff is demon. And he transmitted that demon to his daughter!!
Sue your daughter.
Praying for the defendant to gain his kids and hopefully move on with his life. He seems like he has done all he can and the wife's parents are enablers and terrible people.
I’d never sue after he paid for my daughter’s rehab and she’s still an addict AND I kept his kids…COME ON
The only person responsible for your addiction is you! Wake up grandparents
Don't loan money.
Husband looks wore out. God bless him. He needs his kids.
Right? He looks totally defeated. It’s really sad.
daddy would never sue his little princess. That may be why she's the way she is.
I’m not so sure family court will look favorably upon grandparents that sue their daughter’s husband for a few thousand dollars because he couldn’t pay back a loan after trying to get his wife into rehab.
Woman is a drunk, so guy loses custody. The drunk who caused the problem sees the kids more than he does. This guy is getting squeezed - she causes problems, but he pays the price.
Blaming everyone but your daughter. That’s the definition of an enabler.
How big was the gun the husband put to her head to make her drink? That Father is an enabling POS liar. And keeping his kids, he needs a good lawyer. Shame on them bad parents.
I doubt the Defendant poured the alcohol down her throat, she chose to drink it. She's an adult, isn't she????
Defendant seems drained. Dad is suing as a get back. Crazy that to be sued when the daughter is the issue and they knew she had a problem and thought the guy wa showing to take it off there hands
The gall of the grandparents to use the children in their quest to blame the father for all their daughter's problems... Disgusting
This was so messed up knowing in the end that theoretically this money went to help the daughters drug addiction. I know he paid his bills initially, but he used cards again to get her to rehab. Sad in all directions.
“We going to make it work, there’s kids involved”
If there’s kids involved, that’s the more reason to end that marriage. The kids especially don’t need to be around the mother if she’s a violent, absentee active drug user. Staying together just for the kids is only forces them to be raised in a toxic environment
As an alcoholic I’d like to say that I’ve been offered alcohol after I stopped drinking. I made the decision to deny it because I am responsible for my own actions. Addiction is hard… it’s the hardest thing I’ve had to deal with. However, unless someone force fed me alcohol against my will, I am responsible for my drinking. These parents are making excuses for their daughter.
So the defendant got a gun and held it to his wife's head and forced her to drink alcohol? Give me a break the wife and the wife alone are responsible for her addictions and what she puts into her body! I really hope that the father got custody of those children! you can tell just by the plaintiff's facial expressions and his response to the judge that he most definitely is withholding the kids from the Father which is absolutely ridiculous!
Old guy is definitely a Karen. Grandparents have zero rites.
Men are Kevin and plaintiff is much worse, a bad parent and blames everyone else for he is a failure as a parent, bet he even says crap to the mother, his wife also.

👌🏾👋🏾✂️🦍🦍
Dad 100% should have custody. The plaintiff not only needs to mind his business he need to stop taking up for his druggie daughter. You can tell rhey purposely keep the kids away from the dad. He should pay the loan back though.
50% marital debt. If he would have purchased 🏡 I bet his addict SLORE daughter would definitely reap all benefits
I got teary eyed at the look on his face. That is so unfair. Why should he be punished for his wife's doings? Why cancel court because the wife is in rehab? Those are HIS children!! There is no telling what the grandparents are telling those kids about their dad. I hope the kids don't grow up thinking daddy didn't want them.
Unbelievable. I really can't believe that grandparents are so blind. Their daughter is the alcoholic. She is the one who has abandoned her children. It's absolutely heartbreaking.
I hope the children the best!!!
A new one for me! Cant wait!!!
"I want some oompa loompas, and I want them NOW, daddy,". She really needs help. I feel sorry for her kids and the husband. Sounds like he's doing his best to have visitation with them, the poor guy. He needs to pay the loan, thoigh.
Judge Milian loves to dive deep into the issues and embarrass folks for entertainment. "... so what recreational drugs are we talking about?" LMFAOOO
I get the whole loan thing, but I think if the son-in-law spent almost 4 grand on rehab for their daughter, they should have just called it even. Or maybe work out a payment plan between the daughter and the son-in-law. There are small children involved and I think there is way more than what was being presented here today. We didn't get the complete story.
Why are the kids w her parents. He's too old as a father to pawn them off
" I want my money now" !!😂
The defendant need to sue the rehab company how dare they send her back in one day and won't return the money
What a mess the wife has chosen to make. Two children and runs off with an Uber driver. Just before rehab takes off for a week. Leaves the husband (and father of the children) to deal with the fallout . Yes, it takes two to tango, the father of the kids is human, too and her folks aren’t making anything better by suing him . They have only made matters worse. Again, most of these series of unfortunate events hinge on her out of control behavior. Ultimately, she chose alcohol and drugs over everything else in life.
How they blamed him for their daughter being a piece of garbage
oh grandpa your sooo wrong why are you keeping his own dang children!!!! give him his children or the loan is washed!!!
and grandpa she grown!!! if she can't drink alcohol then nothing shouldn't have been drank
If the defendant is married to the plaintiff's daughter then it is a marital debt which should be claimed from both, but since the money was well spent on her rehab, it's not the husband's fault she got kicked out. The father should be more than happy to participate in her recovery rather than suing the son-in-law, and let's be honest if she has a drinking problem she is trying to hide from problems that happened during her childhood, so what makes them think they are better for those children than their actual father...
On the Defendant, nice tie, and morally, the Plaintiff should accept responsibility for his alchohlic daughter. 🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹🍹
Those grandparents would never see those kids again if that was me. The moment you try to pull anything like that, you're so done. I can't believe they even think they have any right to keep HIS kids from him. Unless there was already a custody battle and he was proved unfit and they were given sole custody, then they're insane. Those poor babies probably miss their Dad so much. If the mom isn't doing good, that's when they need their Dad the most. And these guys pulled some bull crap and took them for literally no reason.
Wow plaintiff is a really piece of work...he is trying to help get his daughter and they sure him and take the kids. How ungrateful
This is so sad how families think a spouse is responsible for the addiction of their "child" SHE IS GROWN!!!! How do you hold him accountable for your daughter's addiction. SAD
I hated this whole thing and want to see their family court case cause this feels like BS.
Grandpa needs to bud out. His daughter is an adult, she had the choice to take that drink. No one made her do it.
If there's no court order then he can go & just take his kids 🤦🏼♀️
Judge Judy would've thrown the plaintiff out or at most given him half. They already had their chance to raise a child, they cant steal his as a do over
The fact that the woman required extra money for “mountain equipment,” in order to rehabilitate herself and be a mother is ridiculous
I think that guy will get his kids back in the custody hearing. He comes off as the type that loves his kids more than he hates his inlaws and will do what's best for the kids.
Typical my daughter is not problem he is. Too bad if I was dad I'd sue daughter and legally take back the children and say give me back my ill gotten gains. She's a useless mom and there enablers.
No accountability for themselves and for their daughter!
Holy crap, I can’t believe the dad (plaintiff) won’t pay for her rehab. Sorry, but that’s crap
Oh how I wish Harvey had a follow-up about the custody of the kids!
Hopefully he pushes to get his kids and he moves. Those ppl enable their daughter.
Do parents ever hold their kids accountable? How does another person cause domeone to drink other than holding a gun to their head. These grandparents are stupid!
He sent her to a resort not a rehab 😂😂😂😂
I hope he gets those kids and get them far away from those people
The plaintiff is HORRIBLE! The father of the children should be able to have custody of them! How dare they keep his children from him! Disgusting! I'm rooting for the defendant big time! I hope he gets custody and flees to New Mexico and never sees those a-holes again!
I'll give your husband $4k for your shared home but I won't spend $4k on my daughter's rehab to get better. Big yikes. Hope the grandparents don't mess up the grandkids the way they damaged their own child.
So true what an excellent point. Plaintiff is keeping them cause he called dss on his daughter.
Is it just me? Or does the idea of the kids being placed with the parents who raised the mother who has not only violent aggressive behavior but also addiction problems worrisome😮l
No matter the surrounding circumstances the defendant owes jointly or severally because they didn't use the money for the intended purpose. Now the plaintiff is about to mess himself out of relationship with his grandkids by not allowing the dad visitation. Court is gonna award him custody and he should keep them away from them because they will ruin them against him. The dad needs a support system.
This just proves family court is not in children's best interests
Rehab is usually 20k minimum for a typical 30 days. How he found one for a few thousand is truly amazing.
I couldn't have taken him to court bc he chose to try to help my child over settling our debt. 😢
I don't know if it's the same person or not but there was a 34 year old woman who had two children with parents named Alice and Keith Kirton. She passed in May, 2020 with no husband listed.
The grandparents are ruthless.
Unless those kids are in danger with their father there is no reason cps should have taken them from him. I hope he gets sole custody and never lets them go back with them. He is concerned that this man wants to move work HIS KIDS! MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!
JM need to stop being stingy
You don't know Jack....ha good one
I think the care of the daughter/wife is more important than a $4000 loan/gift.
I really don't understand why the judge always digs into people's personal business asking questions about things that have nothing to do with the case. Instead of just getting to the point. But then again she probably did it for ratings.
I bet the Grandparents are hiding the daughter to lay the process until they get an upper hand.
His daughter's alcohol problem is due to her parents not allowing her to own up to her addictions. The father is oblivious to the fact that his daughter is the problem. Even if she goes to rehab no family court judge is going to give her shared custody of the children. She'll definitely get visiting rights but it will probably be supervised visitations.
this is one of the most painful episodes for me
They blew all that money on drugs and alcohol😢😢😢😢
Isn't this loan marital debt? 🤔
No, he asked them for it & it was only used to pay off his debt
