Case # 22-066
#PeoplesCourt #RealityTV #Court - Zábava
This reminds me of the time my parents hired 2 neighborhood addicts to do our bathroom tiles. They were not licensed contractors and didn't use any measuring devices. They just laid the tiles by hand, and eye-balled as they went. What should have been straight tiles ended up being crooked. Like someone just threw the tile on the floor and glued them exactly where they fell. Even as a child I was mystified. Lesson learned at age 10: don't hire "cheap" labor 😂😂
😂
Used to be they did the best jobs! Unless they’re stoners lol
😂
@@drewthistlethwaite8909 when was that?
Us Latinos call that a "Mickey Mouse job".😆
She should have checked to see if the “ contractor “ was licensed & insured.
By the way.
That doesn't mean someone is good.
Mine told me he is licensed. Maine doesn't require that.
Insurance is a joke I should have listened more carefully.
Well I screwed people won't pay the last payment. Because you suck
Oh shuuuut up granny AS IF THAY MEANS ANYTHING!!!!!!!!! their prices are tripled n many cant afford em.
He was dating and living with her at the time. LOL!
No man. She was doing it on the cheap. She new what she was getting in to.
Bonded, Licensed and Insured
Surprised he didn’t say
,”carpenter, he hardly knew her!”
Omgggg 🤣🤣🤣🤣those pictures are gold!!!! The floor has a hill..🤣!this judge looooooves pictures like that!!!!!
Oh man....🤣this takes me BACK SON 😂🤣😂😂🤣
1. Plaintiff can’t sue the other guy if she doesn’t have his info, because only the defendant knows everything about him
2. If plaintiff sues the other guy, he can say “this woman has never paid me a penny” or “my cut was only $150”
Judge got it 100% right.
This plaintiff should have made him sign a written contract for what needed to be done
No, he should have made up a contract and had her sign all the things he was to do to the interior of the house. Without the contract and no permits, she was as much as fault as he, with no contract signed.
Stop victim shaming! She's riotously beautiful!
No shit, Sherlock.
@@namnack WTF
The other worker has no I.D.??
Illegal worker I presume!
That self leveling "acid" she referred to is for concrete floors. There is nothing to level a warped wood floor except supporting or rebuilding.
Contractor cases are absolutely hilarious, the entire flooring looked terrible 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"I'm just a helper." You know how the 'helpers' get ALL checks, made out to them...
The defendant's insistence that, even though the checks were all written to him, for some reason he shouldn't be considered the prime contractor amazes me. I wish the judge would have let him present his argument and make an even bigger fool of himself.
She did. He just kept repeating his self
@@shirleywiese5230 (11:18) She didn't. She kept cutting him off.
Actually it’s not that uncommon when illegal work is being done. I’ve been on jobs where we weren’t paid by the lead but we got cash from the foreman while everyone was taken instruction from the person we knew was the the “boss”
What's with the Herman Munster bangs on the defendant?
My husband was a contractor in NC and he would sub out jobs such as electrical, plumbing , and others. Husband had a situation where a sub did crappy tile so he had to go back and fix the tile work. It doesn't matter who did the work in end all that matters is who the homeowner signed the contract with....
Turn this case into a drinking game : every time you hear the word “helper” take a drink.
🤣 right we would be on the floor before the case ends
Now the defendant can go after Johnny and sue him
Going cheap cost more money!
Where’s Johnny?
I just got ID'd and im 34
I don't think I've ever had anyone ask me for an I.D. when they were writing me a check. Sure, you have to have one when you cash it, or write it to someone else, but to accept a check, I've never heard of that. We all know the defendant is crooked, but that was the easiest part of his story to kill. I wish the judge had called him out on that.
I was thinking that too
What i think happened here was the Defendent knew the Plaintiff and did the electrical work for her, SHE ASKED IF HE KNEW ANYONE WHO COULD DO THE REST OF THE WORK DONE CHEAPLY, He said yes, but everything would be done under the table, so no paper work and he would have to get paid so he could pay the other workers he obtained. And the way the TV program works she got her money back, and he kept his. no losers.
The issue with ‘no ID’ is the man wouldn’t be able to cash the checks that are written to him.
@@themermaidstale5008 You don't need an I.D. to deposit a check in your account, or should I say I don't need one at my bank. I get if he wanted to cash it at her bank would be a valid scenario but there were several checks written and all of them were to the defendant. And had there been an issue like that with a contractor not having an I.D. and wanting me to make multiple checks out in a different person's name it would have been a big red flag. BUT, the defendant said the other guy didn't have an I.D. so he had the plaintiff writhe the checks to him. Neither he or the plaintiff ever said that was mentioned at the time. So I'm sticking with a lame excuse to try and get out of paying the woman back for sub par work.
Love the plaintiffs hair!!! 😍
Beautiful !!
WHO CARES
Also very strong accent is that jersey or Long island?
@@vivianpatton5692she’s totally hot!
I don't know whose hair, smile, and whatever else I like better...the plaintiff's or the judge's
lol now doug is saying fugazi. the peoples court loves that word lol
That word tripped up Judge Judy and I was dying! A lady kept telling her the police officer that responded to her situation was “Fugazi” and JJ was like 🤔 “this says HARTFORD Police Department”… she thought it was the name 😂
@@trixiedelight2231 🤣 I remember that episode! It was hilarious... now I'm gonna have to do a search to find it. 😂
I don't know that guy's name, but he's not Doug. I like Doug better.
That’s Kurt
Dude trying to pretend he was just “a helper”.
GTFOH
It’s on you, Pal.
What kind of dopes go into this kind of situation without signed contracts?
"he didn't have an ID on him that day" - so he wasn't able to take a check?? great case- lesson on both sides= get it in writing! (& I'm always happy to hear "the cheap comes out expensive")
She coulda, shoulda, woulda.
IKR , LOL.
Welcome to life ms know it all
One of Judge Judy's favorite lines! 😁
A lot of people who are in business and savvy make a lot of not so smart decisions. They get no contracts and have no meetings of the mind.
Plaintiff CAN'T sue the other guy because he has NO ID!.........😂😢
Plaintiff is so pretty
That's why I couldn't be a judge. Pretty overrules the facts.
Creepy
Sexy as f
Yes she’s very pretty
Plaintiff has the most perfect hair I’ve ever seen
she's very pretty
She looks like an actress or model
Plaintiff and defendant are working with about 2.5 brain cells between them 😂
Electrician wanted to play contractors/Project manager and got burnt his first try lolol
Why didn't she name both of them on her lawsuit
It's crazy for the lady not to even write anything on the check's memo line for documentation. And then no written or email contract.
The plaintiff probably knew the defendant and the defendant told her he could get the work done cheaply by workers who have no ID. In the end she got what she paid for.
Of course, he was her BF. dude. They were dating and living together, having hot sex in the big bed. LOL!
Why does she look so excited and happy every time someone tells her that she paid for a cheap job
Wherever the buck stops, that's where the responsibility lies. The contractor pays the subs. The contractor is responsible. It is simple.
But you did not pay attention, he was never a contractor, no contract for the work and he was dating the plaintiff before and during the work. And he was living with her.
@@trekgirl65 Where did you get the information that they were dating and lived together? That was never mentioned in the case. 🤔
Lady should have let him sign a contract or write a note n let him sign it. Guy got paid n he left in a hurry
Why she smiled like that when she gave pics 😂😂😂
I was waiting to see two horses in the foyer with the man . Lol 😂
She should have checked their credentials, made a contract and most importantly not try to take the easy way out.
Plaintiff is adorable ❤
She is like most rich people wanted something for nothing and was using the poor workers to get it
What so fantasy a bout her hair nothing
Her hair? Good grief
He bangs! He bangs!
Oh Mr electrician you are such a liar it's your job you`re responsible
Maybe he was a hamburger helper?
😐🤦♂️
NOW THE DEFENDANT KNOW THAT HE'S LYING ABT JUST BEING THE HELPER. SEE NOW HE LOST A CUSTOMER HIS FACE IS ON NATIONAL TELEVISION SMDH NOW RETURN $1200 . POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE
If he's only a "helper" then he can sue the other guy. He may not succeed but it's worth a try
Look if I’m the helper the boss not having his ID has nothing to do with me!!
Me too
My husband‘s a professional and he runs into people wanting to do it on the cheap on the side, wanting him to tell them how to do it when he has thousands of dollars of equipment and education so don’t give your AC company technicians or heating technicians a problemdon’t look over their shoulders constantly stand back. Don’t talk to them. It slows them down.
Why do people allow these big jobs without something in writing?
People's WORD means zip these days.
Anyone contracting construction work with my deceased husband and I always had a written contract and our WORD to do it well and with little waste.
They depended on our word and we depended on their word to pay us. In 20 years, we NEVER had a problem or got sued or called back to fix anything we did. We were always paid on time, what we charged.
No integrity these days. No pride in the work. Too many people trying to get a premium job done on pennies. What a mess.
I'm really jealous of the plaintiff's hair.
Maybe it's my imagination, but the judge and the plaintiff look like they would be friends... not the similarities in look but just the personalities. Two ladies that are on top of their business.😊.. the judge more so but still
She thought her beauty was going to be used.
Call the other man on the phone while in court 😂. You know the judge will 😂
Hair is drawn on with a sharpie
Literally greasy..
He's not the BOSS 😡
He's the HELPER
What's wrong with the JUDGE?
He's Innocent is just the HELPER
Rocking the uspa smh 😂
Tony Danza has entered the chat
But this mook brought the carpenter into the picture. He's the contractor, he is responsible. He can go after his pal.
I was waiting for the ill disciplined screamer to pop out and lo and behold, 11:34 it happened. Screaming judge!!
This is why when you hire someone you specifically tell them no subcontractors on your job and if you don't know what it should look like find someone who does to check it at the end.
He’s a little too old for those nineties boy band bangs! GET A BARBER!😬😬
The missing partner of the so called tag team who were doing the work, he should have been subpoenaed
People are cheap, hire whoever to save money and then they are fussy about results as if they could afford a legit business...
Carpenter? I hardly knew her!
looks like the "chic" and the "turkey" both got roasted
That was a 100% fair judgement, but I can't help feeling a bit sorry for the defendant. He seemed really honest but in a bad position. Still, if you collect the checks, you must be the bill payer, even if you're not.
The giddy smile at 3:10
She's decent lookin
Those messy tiles absolutely will be a pain in the rear to remove. Yes some can be glued and some will come off easy. "You can't have both!" Yeah ok.. 🙄
If she doesn’t have a contract with him it is hard to prove her case, but the judge is always right
Guy Looks drunk
It’s his friend lumpy …
Why do you need ID to get a check?
U need an ID to cash a check
The judge doesn’t look like that anymore, this case is old .
Nooooo. Iii doaoooo noooooo.... its floor level not acid.....
Get Johnny to.
She was dumb to have nothing in writing or she might have gotten more because it was a horrible job. But, yeah, he got the money so he pays!
She has great hair! 💯
The defendant's hair cut tells you all you need to know.
ID to write a check? He was definitely lying
Actually it’s not that uncommon when illegal work is being done. I’ve been on jobs where we weren’t paid by the lead but we got cash from the foreman while everyone was taken instructions from the person we knew was the “boss”.
Hey y’all 🙂
Beautiful hair, thick & her part line is perfect.
😍😍😍
a floor that is not even, requires a structual engineer to examine it before it collapses.
the floor first has to be reinforces( usually with wood or iron)
To level the floor requires that the floor be ripped up and the sagging joist
replaced!!!( landlord never want that). OLD FOORS ARE NEVER LEVELED BY THE
OWNER ( IT COST TOO MUCH), so they usually just sandwich(add wood or iron
to the joist(wooden beams) to reinforce the floor. Having a moron work on a floor
is VERY DANGEROUS. A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER HAD TO EXAMING THE
JOIST (BEAMS UNDER THE FLOOR FIRST). IN NYC EVERY FLOOR SAGS
AND WHEN YOU CALL THE NYC BUILDINGS DEPT THEY SAY" WE ONLY GO OUT
IF YOU SEE THE BUILDING COMING DOWN"
IN ANY OTHER CITY, YOU COULD NOT SELL A BUILDING WITH SAGGING FLOORS,
BUT ANY THING GOES IN NYC.
I’m calling imagrassi
We called it "Mickey Mouse" if you do the shiiity job.
The defendant is a liar and a fool.
Im suprise they didnt try to get him for his suspicious hair piece, lol...Trump 2024...
She’s single 🎉
🤣🤣🤣
no government ID.? Illegal immigrant?
The Plaintiff is so cute - got that Jennifer Aniston haircut
This guy is a total disaster.
The plaintiff is beautiful
