I grew up the scapegoat, my 2 younger sisters were/are golden children whom my mother and father still dote on despite all of us well into our mid-40s, Excellent video ,,all very good points, you nailed it . thank you

The show "little fires everywhere" masterfully highlighted the scapegoat/golden child situation. At the end of the day it was the golden child that burned down the house (literally). Such a great show!

No scapegoat has ever hated or resented their siblings. The only factor that determines who is the scapegoat is that the factor of who is the person who is not going to mistreat & abuse others, even less, the defenseless people. Not wanting to abuse others without reason doesn't mean u dont have the right to defend yourself from any disrespect & discontinue people who r not good to u or if you don't like their character.
My brother was the Golden Child. He was 5 when I was born (middle child) and so I was the peacemaker without the ability to make peace. So what about middle children - we don't got it easy, even as adults
It's sort of like a child actor who gets full of themselves and narcissistic on account of their parents praising them and pushing them along to be one the next big actors. Sometimes they go crazily off their hinges and sometimes they just quit acting later on because of the large amounts of pressure that may be put on them by their parents, the copious amounts of media attention, etc.. Though, if there's a sibling that's perhaps a little less golden and less perfect than they are, in their head, they may be likely to point out there mistakes more and say well at least I'm not them or did what they did. They may also say that because the other they this thing that they didn't do anything, or anything wrong at least. But, eventually there'll need to be a fork in the road. (Not that fork [utensil] Lol.)
I'm the scapegoat in our family. I was the only girl. My dad hated me, while favoring my brothers. My mom was too afraid of her husband (my dad) to defend or protect me.
