I have the same pool for a year, the water filter pump does not work, it is the original, should I put a bigger one? the pool has some little holes in the bottom, do you know what I can patch it with? Thank you
Hi Joe! thank you so much for posting these super helpful videos!! i just purchased the Summer Waves Elite 14 x 42 ...Question for you: I want to do the Lowe's foam insulation boards how you did it-i'm a little wary though because I was wondering if these boards will shift and come apart over time...i ordered a heavy duty waterproof tape like the gorilla tape but still curious if this is strong enough to keep the boards together....Also-if water will somehow get onto these boards, if that will cause them to shift/tape come undone...i know that the boards and the tape are supposed to be waterproof but i don't 100% trust that..?
Hi Stacey. No worries about the foam boards shifting once the pool is full. You will have thousands of pounds of water weight keeping the boards firmly planted. You can see that we covered the outer edge of the pool with stone, this will help hide the edge of the foam boards. This is only aesthetic as the foam is 100% waterproof. We have pools where we used the same foam for 5 seasons in row. If you take your pool down at the end of the season we recommend cutting the foam into 4 pie shaped pieces (mark them 1-2-3-4 in order so you can reinstall the same way next season) to ease with storing them. They can be stored outside but inside would be better. Good Luck!
@@joev1779 great!! thank you so much for your quick reply!! you rock!! also-did you place anything over the foam boards or did you put the pool directly on the boards? I saw a video where he put the thin blue "tarp" that comes with the pool over the foam boards and then placed the pool on top....i like that idea to protect the foam boards but i feel like it may be a big pain in the ass to smooth out the wrinkles in the pool liner bc then you're dealing with2 layers of plastic to try and keep as smooth as possible..idk how he mounted that "tarp" on the foam boards so it wouldn't move....i'll try and message him...i've just heard that you have to keep the liner as smooth as possible and no wrinkles or the algae builds up in between the tiny folds and is very difficult to keep clean

Hi, I wish this wasn't a "Covid Summer" as we'd have time to come to help you. You are close. We have jobs backed up till September. I would recommend renting a mini-excavator and doing it yourself. They can seem a little intimidating at first but they are easy to get the hang of. You really can't do any damage. Just rent for a weekend (check weather for no rain) and take your time. There are good videos on CZcams. Good Luck
I just got the bestway version of this pool. I'm also in NewEngland and plan on keeping it up all year but just draining some water from it in the winter. Do you keep yours up all year?
@scupking yes we drain just till the water is under the drain tubes.. then throw in a pool winter pill (get on Amazon) then throw on the winter cover. That's it

Where in the Northeast are you? Happen to be in Northeast Ohio?? We are putting in this pool and have slope in our yard. Had it excavated and it's not level. Been working on it but if you are in my area we could sure use the help!
Oh wrong side of state. ☹ We actually went over to PA to buy this pool since everyone was sold out around us. Anyway, we had the area excavated and it is still not level...not a whole lot. Anyway. went to the quarry today to buy clean fill or a quarry mix of some kind But what they had has rock's in it. I'm not purposely going to put rocks down where I just worked so hard to get rid of them! They suggested infield dirt that you out on baseball fields. So I got a ton and half and we spread it around the low side. Tomorrow we are going to rent a vibratory plate compressor to pack it in good. I did go back and a get a load of Mason sand to go under the pool area and we spread it in the middle towards the other side. Once we get everything packed in I'm hoping we are level. I like the idea of foam board. How thick a layer of sand did you use under the boards?
@@tinaheatwall5671 Yes. Don't place anything with rocks under the pool. I'm not a huge fan of adding fill to a lower side. I instead like to remove soil from the high side. Leveling is a real pain but necessary if you want the pool to be safe and to last. We used 2 inches of sand mixed with the soil for this install. The foam boards are 1/2" thick. They made a huge difference in the feel of the bottom of the pool. We used 2 12 foot long 2x4s joined together to check the level of the ground. There are also some good videos of people using a homemade water level made with plastic tubing. Both work well. Good luck!
Think maybe we should double or triple stack the pavers on the low side? So the paver is on the original earth. The pavers I bought are an inch I think. Or maybe just buy a thicker pavers for that side. Thanks for your input! Are you a homeowner that helped a friend with this install or is this your profession? Th
@@tinaheatwall5671 Hi. We helped this homeowner. But we install pools, solar panels etc. You could double or triple stack the pavers. But keep in mind if you go too high the legs will be lifting the liner off of the ground. Once the water fills if the liner is not on the ground the liner will tear as its not built to support all of the water weight being held off the ground. Hope that makes sense.
I have the old pump. When I turn it off, the pump leaks a lot of water. Doe anyone have any information about that. Tried ordering a larger pump. Back order until Aug.
Well guess what I just had the same issue so I just watch a video on how to replace the filter i follow it and then it stop leaking i found out that i had put the oring in the wrong place which made it leaks
This pool is designed for two hoses for intake that get joined outside the pool with a "T" fitting. Its a decent design as you can add a skimmer off one of the inlets. Gives ya more versatility. I dont think having 2 intakes greatly increases the flow rate.
We don't use the original pumps. They work okay.. If you keep the use to 3 or 4 people max for 2-3 hours per day. Most people convert to sand filters and salt water generators.
If your windows are leaking it most likely is a first generation pool. The 2nd and 3rd gens do not leak. Contact bestway and see if they will help you. There are no good fixes for leaky windows unfortunately.
