Just a month ago I bought the 2022 version of the Colman 22ft pool. It has no port holes and has not pegs it all clips into place. We have had it up for a month now and it’s doing great. We love it.
I just got done doing all of this for the 18’x48” version. I really like the pool. Someone had purchased it and realized how hard it would be to level the ground so they sold it to me for $200. I love it so far. I was instantly concerned about the windows but I think Coleman tweaked the design a bit to make them more durable. Everything about it is solid so far. That shut off valve on the inlet side is genius! I will be stealing that. I know for a fact I will lose those black stoppers within a month 😂 great video man!
Wished I had found you 4 weeks ago when I was setting mine up. Every imperfection is noticeable once you're inside the pool
I bought my pool two years ago just installed it's great, bought my pool for hundred and fifty bucks, on sale.

This was GOLD! Thank you!
Got my new pump we love our pool have had for a month. Swim with weights i do laps. Kids and dogs can swim for hours. Helps so much run out their energy.
Just purchased the same pool for........$2.300.00 on EBAY. Plus $900.00 to prep the yard. Seems everyone is buying pools because of the Covid 19. But that's OK for what I paid...can't wait to enjoy it and thanks for the tips.
Ouch! Bought same pool at Walmart for $296
@@DCRACKA yes that’s an awful up-charge yikes 😬
Amazing review!
I ended up getting gate valves too, eventually. Before that I would use a cup on the inside of the pool held by the pressure of the water trying to go inside the opening lol.
Makes sense now why our pool cover doesn’t fit! Thank you!
I have the same pool in a smaller version, 18 x 48. I purchased a STAN Pro 75D pump and it works great
Nice Video.. I just purchased a Similar one .. I was also debating On Buying one or not but I’m Soo Thankful I Did ..they are selling out fast too!
You got one more new sub. I like your pool.Lovely windows on the pool too.
Princess Lilian's Gardens thanks so much Lilian! I like the way the windows look. I hope the never leak though.
Great video! We have this pool and I also purchased the split valve shutoff plunger but I saw it on Amazon for $25 but Intex sales them for $9 on there site.
i just got one and all we need now is put the pump and install water it is gonna be great!!!!!! 😎😄
Great video thank you
Filling mine rite now
We have the same pool but we were using it we headed to clean it all!
Last year 2019 I buy this pool for $300 I can't believe that right now there selling it for $2,000 😳 It's a good swimming pool
Walmart sells them for under 800. If you can find one this time of year.
X X I was looking fo one of these pools but they were sold out I was planning to have a pool and a deck for next year ):
Mine rusted after two years. I tell people to paint all the metal with flex paint. You should toss the pump and get a sand filter.
I just bought a similar pool and the instructions said to put the plastic screws Through the grommets and the inthe hole
I love this pool however I was upset it said on ours don’t put sand under it which from my experience I use to always do but we followed no sand Wish I could go back and put sand. Also the pump we had issues with We seemed to have got most wrinkles out but still have some causing issues with cleaning. I wish I seen this video before putting ours up and filling we are going to upgrade our pump to sand one. For next season also getting a vacuum however which skimmer did you find to fit the pool ? We need one as we are told most of the pool critters and vacuums work off of those. We have it half full now ready to put cover on and close for the season but this time we will be sure to have what we need before opening next season Thank you sooo much for this video
Guy is right on
We have the same size Coleman pool (grey though, not brown and no port holes).
I have to say that I have not been able to get the pool pump to not leak around the threads, still working to get that not to leak.
As for the dual inlet hoses, I also could not get the little black stoppers to work to change the filter.
I ended up using some old connector to attach pipes (what we use when we use the vacuum).
So the hose goes in the pool side from one inlet to another, but no water is lost and I can open the pump.
Definitely going to get the valve to be able to turn off the water flow to make it easy to change the filter (we had that with our last pool and I miss it).
Thanks for the video.
With the stoppers you have to pull the whole suction covers and all from inside the pool.
Whole peice should pull out.
And the leaky threads you can just go buy some teflon tape. It works greats
I just bought this size pool and working on leveling the ground. How has the pool held up in the 3 years?
Those grommets go on top .
Put the pin through grommet and them push pen through
Well thought out review! If I was in the market for a pool, I would consider this one. Unfortunately for my kids, I don't want to spend that kind of money right now. They're going to have to settle for sprinklers!
The Jacobs Triangle Homestead sprinklers are great! That’s what I had growing up, and I think I turned out alright. 😂😂
Right now they sell them over 1000-1800..people are buying them up to resell because summer and kids staying home instead because of Covid. I decided to pay up for a professional one. I had Intex but decided to finally spend the money and get a more stable reliable pool for years to come I hope
Rich Lo it’s crazy how fast the pools went off the shelf! Especially since they had been there for so long before that. We have some friends that wanted to get one three days after we got ours and they were sold out in every Walmart in the vicinity. We will likely get a professionally installed pool eventually, but just couldn’t bring ourselves to spending the money right now, not to mention the hassle of getting it installed.
This is my 2nd 1 ... hopefully the windows are fixed ... the 1st one lasted a season and half before windows leaked...looks gud 4got ur gaskets on pins but I know why ..they were a pain
Thank u. We have the same pool. Can you do a video on closing the pool for the winter ?
My wife and I were just talking about doing that video, but we will probably be keeping it open for another month or two before we have to close it.
Hurricane Homestead i may hold out and wait for that video before closing ours. Notification bell on 🔔 🤗
So putting the cover on is a pain but there's a video on here about using clip shirt hangers. With that method it becomes a one person job . It also keeps it from blowing off in strong winds.
Can you please post that video? Having so much trouble with the cover! Thanks!!

Great pool. Just got ours going no leaks around the windows. I definitely recommend spending the 250 on a intex 2800gph sand filter and pump.
Have to change the paper filters to often and original pump works ok but not great for the size of pool
Got the sand filter and pump and couldn't ask for anything better.
Where did u find the filter I can’t seem to find one
You cant find the paper filter? or the sand filter and pump?
joey P paper filter
What size pool and pump do you have? I ll see if I can find you a link to them
joey P thank you I appreciate it, it’s the Coleman 22’ by 52’
I bought the same pool at Walmart last winter for 198.00
Didn’t have the complaints you did.. my pump quit after one week so that sucks but otherwise I’m pleased. Bottom was smooth etc. I paid $400.
I did have hell with the top pole pieces but nothing dented and no leaks from port holes. That’s one of my fav things about this pool! My kid’s are small and love to swim by and wave!! 🥰
Thank you for this! We are finishing filling our pool. We didn't level it 100%, so we are off a little. Also, out power source only comes from within the house so we have to use a heavy duty industrial extension cord, which I don't like, but we have no other choice. Can you suggest to me all chemicals I need? I'm trying to order everything from Amazon & not exactly sure what I need.
My wife handles maintaining the chemicals, but she’s been using the Clorox Smart strips test kit that come with an app that tells you exactly what you need to keep the levels accurate. www.amazon.com/CLOROX-Pool-Spa-71025CLX-Assistant/dp/B00PZZFU3W I think you can even order them directly from the app.
@@HurricaneHomestead Thank you so much!
So you can't just use any extension cords?? And how deep is the pool?? 5ft??
The pool is 52” to the top of the rim, but the water level is a little below that so it’s more like 4’. And it’s not recommended to use an extension cord, but I used a cord rated for 20 amp and it worked just fine.
Our pump lasted a month. Did a warranty claim so fingers crossed they send a new one because there are none to be found well none we can afford.
Missouri grammy 2013 that’s a bummer. Hope it all works out for you.
Our Warranty claim was approved but they are out of stock 🤷♀️ so luckily we have a friend with a sand filter we can borrow so it will be ok plus when we get our other we will just have a backup. We will be swimming again in no time!
I just setup and am filling a 20’ Bestway Power Steel and had some questions on the 2 B side outlets. I just hose clamped the clear tubes right on the outlet spouts but I have some parts that seem to fit there also. I saw those parts shown briefly in the video, can you provide any more info? Thanks
David Mathews the little gray vents go on the inside of the pool. It appears that those come off and you place the black stoppers in them when you need to change the pump. I installed a second gate valve on the b side of the pump so I wouldn’t have to mess with that each time. I talk about that in my recent review video m.czcams.com/video/rdk3ZokYCiY/video.html
How's the leveling going? Ours was level to begin with. We filled it halfway, then it was off 4 inches.
@@HurricaneHomestead ikj
I just purchased the second gate valve. Is that the only way to keep the water from filling up in the pump? As soon as the water level was high enough to reach the b valves it started draining out. Or would it be different if the pump was running ? The questions may seem simple but this is my first pool as large as this (needing a pump). Help, feel a bit stressed!
Shemedra Thomas everything on the pump should be tight and no water should be leaking weather it’s on or off. Check to make sure everything is properly tight and that nothing is cross threaded.
Did you ever end up changing out the pump at all or was it good enough to prevent the pool from turning green?
We used the same pump all season last year and it worked great. As long as we stayed on top of cleaning out the filters we didn’t have any problems. One week we were out of town and didn’t get a chance to change it out and things got a little hazy, but we socked the pool and got things nice and clear again.
How did you find this for $600? Was that the retail price or clearance price? I am only finding these pools priced for $1600 online. Actually the majority of pools I’m finding are currently priced upwards of $1000. Do you think these prices will lower as the summer season begins and these pools begin to be stocked regularly? Thanks.
It was at our local Walmart last year. We actually bought it three times though because we would buy it online then when we got to the store they would be out. Thankfully we were able to find one in stock.
Which one do you like better, Intex or Coleman? Have you had and problems with the "windows" Thanks
C López I’ve not had any trouble with the windows yet. I feel like the Intex was more sturdy and secure, but I like the way the Coleman looks and the price tag was a lot better than the Intex.
Is it okay to fill up pool over the piece that pushes out water
We fill ours up all the way to the top. I’m pretty sure you will want to cover all the intake and output holes once it’s full.
Did you have any issues with just putting the pool on top of the grass and the sand with any grass growing through or anything?
Not really. After the first couple weeks some of the legs started to settle, but after I lifted them and placed some slate stone under them I’ve not had any more issues.
I went to Home Depot and purchased I think 12 4x8 sheets of 1/2 inch foam board. It was around 13.00 a sheet. I duct taped them all together.
It was the best decision ever. No worries about grass or small rocks. It's also extremely soft to walk on.
Hi thank you for posting,
Any idea of the cost of operating this pool?
Thanks in advance,
Doulos of Jesus Christ so far it’s cost everything we’ve got. 😂 seems like every other day we’re spending money on buying chemicals, new pool toys filters etc. I’ve not seen the electric bill since we’ve got it yet though.
@@HurricaneHomestead 🤣🤣
If you've got the money, put down a thin foam board base over the leveled sand.
Once the ground is level, approximately how many hours are actually spent on putting the pool together/up? Thank you!
It took us about two hours to get it setup after the ground was leveled.
Got mine end of last summer at Walmart on Clarence for $250 if i would have known this summer would have all pandemic BS i would have bout all 3 they had. Could have got all 3 for less the $600+ original price
On those pegs the grommets is suppose to go on the top with the heads
That's true. It goes on the top end.
I saw this same pool for $500 last winter I should of bought it then its like $1900 now
Logan Randle it’s crazy how much they are selling for now.
I mean Sandpro 75d
How often do you need to replace the filter
We had to replace it a couple times a week when we were using it a lot.
Does anyone know how many gallons a 22' x 52" pool holds?
Kathy Johnson a lot! Based on the instructions it holds about 15k gallons, but based on my calculations it holds closer to 13k gal.
Contacted Coleman about this pool.. they said I have to cut out the serial number, date it was mfg from the bottom of the pool send them a pic of it while holding it in the palm of my hand......I know it is for proof but gheez I can add water and use the pool for a litlle bit even tho it is leaking.
patty richards that’s crazy. At least they’re helping you with it.
@@HurricaneHomestead well I am going to try to keep adding water and then after the season I can cut the bottom out and try it then..It is not a done deal that they will replace it.
those grommets, go on the top of the pins. They are water seals so water doesn't get into the pipes as easily. it was clearly laid out in the directions and several photos.
I have the 18x48 within 6 mths the windows leaked! Contacted Coleman company they replace the pool with the same type pool..Guess what within 3 mths window leaks...I wold NOT recommened this pool!
@@pattyrichards8521 the type I does that. I have the type II no leaks yet.
@@bobbyd9583 they say for me to cut out the bottom of the pool where the serial # and dates are printed.take a pic of it while in the pal, of my hand.
Poorly made the wind torn the poles up now have to replace 5 top poled
So your pool never collapsed ?
Timmerd888 no, it seems to be holding strong. We did have a few legs start to sink down after they slid off the rocks they were on. Here’s the video on how I fixed that problem. czcams.com/video/C7PLttDtgjc/video.html
800? They are charging 1100-1700 nowadays
where is the fence???dangerous.......
Danger is my middle name... not really, it’s John. 😂
Hope for your sake nobody gets into your pool and drowns. You won’t be laughing 😂 then. Sad.
1decks I hear ya, I was just being snarky. It’s hard to see the fence because we live in the middle of our 156 acre property, but I assure you that no one is going to accidentally wander into our pool.
Hurricane Homestead ok 👌 sure
Coleman pool struts rust out in a year. Bad quality.
Higher-end a soft-sided pools with a 30 to 40 year warranty that you never have to take down
Legacy, Super Splash and Doughboy
These types of pools are expensive and it's quite a investment but you'll get years of use out of it
We've had our Legacy for 20 years pool deck around it still looks brand new
Zero rust and you never have to worry about the liner ripping
