I enjoyed the Japanese Army line at Tier VI and VII, not much otherwise. The 94-II, for me, was almost impossible to play due to the guns not hitting. The Ki-84 remains as probably my favorite turnfighter in the game. I think you played it pretty well. Resisting the temptation to hold a particular cap can be hard to do. That's why you need a flight mate - one person caps, the other defends the important sector! ;)
Yes, the Ki line was the Japanese Army (technically the Imperial Japanese Army Air Service/Imperial Japaenese Army Air Force). The map for the second battle is an interesting one. It's one of those maps were taking an Air Base can actually be crucial - the MB is still the priority, but not having at least one of the ABs will hamper you and can prove decisive. I have the Ki-84-I in my hangar, but haven't flown it yet. I detested the Ki-43 series...the guns were terrible (for me at least) in finishing off targets (I actually switched to gold ammo for a few battle just to facilitate finishing the grind). I thoroughly enjoyed the Ki-61, and the altitude it has was a breath of fresh air after the earlier Ki planes and the Zero line.
Most enjoyable. I have a favour to ask; when you're not busy, could you provide a link to the mod that removes the bot names, rather than prefixes them with an asterisk?
I got it from Sunvoid before the RU server went belly up. Much better than just name+astrisk version I think. When I get back in town next week I can upload it somewhere for you.

The Ki-84, IMO, is the best Japanese LF in the game.
