  • AT545 Allison Auto Transmission with drive shaft parking brake fails while being pulled on. Luckily it was only the shoes that broke. I do not like the design for this purpose and am looking forward to buying an air brake truck. If you think about it, the tires are a torque multiplier to the axles, which are a multiplier to the rear end, which is a multiplier to the drive line. All that force is being held by a 9-inch drum. Just not adequate for this application.

Exactly the vid I need. Just need to know how to reinstall the driveshaft after the towing company towed mine. Same make n model as urs, but the Uhaul version n from 2000.

WOULD THE DRIVE SHAFT PARKING BRAKE CAUSE A JERKING MOTION AND A ABS LIGHT WHEN BROKEN OR OVERLY WORN?

WTF is drive shaft tension? You think that it will fly apart or something?

As a former class a wrecker operator of 4 years, yes. They'll violently pop out of the yoke if there is tension on the driveline when you remove the straps. Like if it's in gear or park on some transmissions and the truck rolls back against the gear. I've seen men hospitalized over it.
