The sound you thought might be a mandolin is a guitar. Alex plays through a Roland Jazz Chorus 120 which helps give it, it’s unique sound. Love all the obscure music you’ve been reacting to. Keep it up!

That sound gets played a lot in Bloom, and it’s one of the reasons why it’s my favourite Beach House album

Wow that was incredible! such a beautiful song full of emotion, the steady low heart beat that kept it moving but I felt some sadness in the music, I'm not really musically knowledgeable but perhaps it's in a minor key which gives it that melancholic sound. Thanks for sharing it with us :)

    Hi Greg.
I don't know much about Beach House but this was nice. The reason I watch your channel is because you do obscure stuff. There's so much great music that flies under the radar so I hope you'll keep exploring and finding new bands. I'm sure a lot of your viewers feel the same way so keep up the good work.

Thanks, G R. Wish I knew your name; seen your comments from time to time. And this one is another reminder of the connections I'm making though music, and why I continue to do these. Thanks again. - Greg

@@intothemusic908 Thanks Greg. I found your channel about a month ago and I've been checking out a lot of your older videos. Like I said it's great that you're checking out music that doesn't get a lot of exposure. - Glenn

      Hi Greg.
I have a few new suggestions for you if you don't mind.
Yard Act/The Trappers Pelts. Their first album comes out in January but this is from an EP they put out last year. There's some channeling of Mark E. Smith going on and some really good dirty sounding bass playing
The Vaselines/Crazy Lady. The Vaselines main claim to fame was when Nirvana covered 3 of their songs on their unplugged album. Apparently the singer Eugene, was one of Cobain' favorite songwriters. The style is along the lines of Buzzcocks or The Undertones.
      This ones a little different.
The Hillbilly Moon Explosion/My Love For Evermore. They're a Swiss Rockabillly band with a guest appearance by a gravelly voiced singer called Sparky. This song is not completely unheard of. The video has more than 21 million views on youtube. Imagine Tom Waits and Bette Midler doing a Nick Cave murder ballad. I think that describes it pretty well.
      Take care
      Glenn

Thanks Kevin. I really like that EP Yard Act put out and I'm looking forward to hearing the album. I remember hearing a song from TV Priest a while ago. I think Decoration but I'm not sure. I'll check out Press Gang.
      Thanks Again

Yes, it's pleasant. However, and I might get some heat for this, they're songs tend to sound all the same after awhile. I've seen them live, they opened for some one I don't remember. We got bored and went to the lobby for drinks. I think of them as a poor man's Cocteau Twins. Then again, someone might say the same about the Twins. But if I'm in the mood for some dreamy pop, I'm gonna grab a Cocteau Twins cd...again it's just an opinion. Also I don't remember any mandolins when I saw them, I think its a keyboard effect.

I don’t want to go on but you said that I could choose the first song when you returned and I chose John Otway and Wild Willie Barrett’s classic Beware of The Flowers Cause I’m Sure They’re Gonna Get You Yea. Voted the 8th best lyrics of all time. P.S. Beach House on The sea vas very pleasant.
