Edgar Broughton Band make for one hell of a "discovery" The other side of that single is no slouch either...

Love his style of layering the samples to make the tracks in this album. Artist wasn't doing much of this with samples until much later until 2000s and beyond when you see more of this being used. Shadow was a pioneer and this album shows it.

If you haven't heard SFA's amazing song titled "City Scape Sky Baby," you're missing out as it blew me away with it's brilliance. It's about a woman in eastern Europe who was being kicked out of her home so she fed her children one last time before she killed them and then herself before the bailiffs came. You most likely won't even read this but if you do, and you do get to listen then hope you enjoy.

I'm 99% sure that's Micky Dolenz's very distinctive voice harmonizing with Papa Nez. Such a gorgeous, beautiful and just a little melancoly. If the sunlight had sound, it would sound like this.

To me -- as a fan of Cream since I was 12 years old -- an important component of the greatness of Cream was the the surrealistic lyrics of Pete Brown. As was the case with other lyrics from that era, I have no idea what the words mean. But the words just sound so great combined with the music. "I felt the wind shout like a drum.". Far out man!

Coldplay always said all their songs are supposed to be interpreted by the listener, but in this particular case they said it's about the Irish/ North Irish war and having to meet in hiding because both parties are from different sides

BTW I think their next biggest song that was their next biggest hit is from the LP The Seer 1986 called "Look Away" Definitely worth a listen. I've played it for people who never knew the band or it's music and it always impresses.

I always described the Violent Femmes as playing the guitars by tangling their fingers in the strings. That was just me - but I absolutely loved them. I completely wore out the cassette tape and had other albums and cassettes too

One of my favorite songs ever

I found Cardiacs in 2015. They didnt click at all then but something told me to keep trying because the music was ACE. The singing turned me off and now it's my favorite part in many ways. They are my favorite band now. With all the music I know I too was shocked how they slipped by me! BEST FOR LAST. I got to meet Timmy a few times after his terrible health incident. Such a lovely warm and genuinely incredible man. GENIUS. That solo was pieced together by Tim and nobody has done it live... Poole got close and Kavus tried but it's special in it's construction and integration just like all of Tim's textural and background parts... although that solo is VERY much up front and massive. A joy to listen every time. Cheers, brutha!! x

Drugs killed Paul Kossoff, he was great, he tended to play minimaly so he could hear Paul Rodgers sing. These guys were little more than kids, at that time, of course Pauls still on the go. Simon liked to hammer his drums, they were all top rank. Cheers me dears.

Me and a friend of mine recorded this on a 4 track back when it came out. He was almost blind. He had a great talent for music. I was learning. We were 16 or 17. We practiced a few times for the first time. He is the only person to this day that ever heard me sing. We enjoyed a jam session. Wish we could have done more.
