- This is 2/3 in the custom keyboard series. In this video I make a usb c cable with an aviator connector. This isnt a tutorial but if you are taking on a similar project hopefully it will help :) These kind of cables can retail from 30-100+ and I figured if Im gonna make my own keyboard I might as well make my own cable for it.
Parts
Usb cable: $18.00 zapcables.com/usb-2-0-cable/

Id love to do more of these projects in the future, if you want to see them, leave a like, its free and easy and it helps everyone (especially me), but also people who are looking for this video - Jak na to + styl
For the cable to keep its shape and spring back together, you need to reverse coil it. Trust me it will make the coil 4 times better!
thanks man! ill have to give that a go!
Awesome build and video. Looking forward to more content.
Wow, thank you. I want to create my own keyboard too (99% DIY)! You really helped me :)
Флэрмн (Flermn) glad to hear it man 👍
@@Nuttist But why it's so expensive? I bought similar components but from Aliexpress and Ebay. My version costs 50$ (with excess components).
Флэрмн (Flermn) I just bought a kit from summitcables with everything for only 20mso check them out
Nice job i love the color
this is really spicy content
Was look at if anyone has tried casting a keyboard case from aluminum but found your video on making a wooden case.
Fernando Leon an aluminum one would be sick, may need to try that in the future!
@@Nuttist yea I don't have the means to do it but I think it would make for a good video since I couldn't find anything on it
Fernando Leon yeah definitely, ive been wanting an excuse to do a home foundry for a while, ive never done it before but i think it could be fun
Is there a reason for using 5 pin aviator isntead of 4 pin? Will 4 work better/worse?
Robin Bosman 4 pin wouldve made more sense but there will be no issues from using a 5pin. The reason i got a 5 pin was because on zapcables where i ordered it that was the default so i wasnt sure if my usb cable would come with 4 or 5 wires inside it
what diameter of techflex did you use?
kind of sad that he hasn't uploaded in a while I've really enjoyed what's on the channel
Does this work for a nuts as well?
what size techflex was the correct one
1/8th inch worked great for me!
What board are you building on?
OMG INCREDIBLE
I’d say the right word would be singe, but cauterize still explains it
oops you accidentally put the coil on the wrong side of the aviator
nice try on the cable. i would recommend redoing it with an actual heat gun.
Hey buddy, Do you have Twitter or Instagram?
People that put milk in their coffee :(
LOL im sorry bro. If it helps I dont use milk anymore!
@@Nuttist haha it's a joke ;) you do you
