A lot of people were tormented and tortured in school. I wore a monstrosity called a Milwaukee brace due to scoliosis, and for the 4 years I wore that, I was laughed at, tripped, books knocked out of my hands, and emotionally tortured. Back then, the braces were very heavy, and it made getting down on the floor to pick something up difficult and getting back up slow, painful and awkward, all while people laughed at me, called me names, and said nobody would ever want me. And this was daily, and not one teacher ever said, “stop.” There were multiple times I wanted to die rather than go to school one more day. But I held on, and I became a nurse, because I knew what it was like to need help and not get it. Survival is the best revenge, not shooting innocent 8 year olds who don’t even know who you are. Audrey Hale was a coward and a murderer. Nothing else she was, no diagnosis she had could ever make what she did okay.

Well said, thank you for sharing! And I'm sorry for the cruelty you had to endure. I was always the weird kid throughout school (even now 😅), and the few times I was loquacious enough to approach people I was insulted, told to mind my own business, or made fun of (loudly enough for the entire class to hear, of course) for how I looked or acted. This was on top of all the other times I was picked on or called ugly when I was keeping to myself. Otherwise I was shunned, with just a small group of other fellow outsiders to commiserate with.
I've kept my distance from people and am very wary of them when it comes to letting them in to my personal life. I've had people befriend me and then give me the brush-off, out of nowhere throughout the years, even in my adult years, such that I keep even friendly people at arm's length. That said, I still have a sense of compassion for others. I'm also in healthcare after leaving architecture--as a sonographer, to be exact, and on my way to one last round of school to add adult echo and vascular to my current certifications.
Though I don't think I have it in me to be a nurse, I feel the same way you do about caring for others and making them feel comfortable and heard when they're scared and frustrated by a healthcare system that seems to forget them. The pain may never fully go away, but we're still human beings at the end of the day and one absolutely CAN live for themselves and not let their personal pain destroy others. That's what growth is all about! It pains me to know how insufficient our coping mechanisms and methods of conflict resolution among people of all ages but especially adults. There is a real sickness in this country; the way we normalize and even champion hostility and violence here is seems so deeply ingrained that sometimes I wonder if we'll ever disentangle ourselves from it.

Original Message: To be fair, mate, someone can believe a child murderer is a garbage person while still exploring the possible causes for their atrocities. There are always causes. What helped cause this garbage person to do this? Did this Christian private school maybe teach a perspective that caused the garbage person to hate who they were naturally? Transgenderism is a condition that has been proven to exist through the mere fact that men's brains and women's brains are different and that sometimes the gender of a human baby doesn't fully transition from female to male in the womb. Sometimes a female brain is in a male's body or vice versa. This is the reality that everyone lives in. People who are teaching gay people and trans people (both proven to exist and live healthy lives when accepted for who they are) that they are abominations and that they're doomed to scream and cry and gasp and writhe and ask for death and never be given it in a mythological place called hell, that's going to cause severe damage to those people. The shooter is a garbage person, regardless of their gender. But looking at the possible causes so as to learn from them is important and valuable for society. It's not the victims' faults for being murdered just because we're looking for possible causes to learn from.

One day I got tired of being called all kinds of names, and I confronted one the worst bullied. I had one of those old, long rulers in my hand, I waited until he was by himself, and hit him so hard calling out loud all the awful names he called me. From that day on, No One ever called me names. I endured abuse for a long time, due to jealousy against me. I don't condone this behavior, but you have to stand up before those deranged kids in school. The fact that she was able to obtain 7 weapons at 5 stores within days is a serious problem. If they did a simple check on her, they would have found mental issues. We don't have to make it so easy for these idiots to murder as many innocent people as they can. There is no logical reason to own these military grade weapons either. These are the weapons of choice because they cause the most amount of damage in the shortest amount of time. It's impossible to recover from these gun shots because they destroy/explode your internal organs . This needs to stop & doing nothing isn't working, responsible, or acceptable. The same guns nuts that refuse to take any actions are the ones that want to cut any & all government assistance, like medicaid/healthcare. We have to do something & gun control is the quickest, best, & easiest option. We can't reality fix our healthcare or mental health issues immediately, but we can make it more difficult for these psychopaths to obtain weapons. I'm not anti-gun & there needs to be changes ASAP! It doesn't have to be all or nothing, but that's always the instant reaction when gun control is even brought up. NO ONE IS SUGGESTING NO MORE GUNS! @BigWheel. Před rokem +1

@@paigea4745 I hate the fixation on "assault rifle accessibility" here. It's a major misnomer.
Because A) an assault rifle is select fire, semi AND full or burst. If you want an assault rifle you need tax stamps and special licenses that most people can't access or afford. The guns used in these shootings are just rifles. Yes they're based on assault rifles but they aren't actually assault rifles.
      B) more crime and murder is committed with handguns. They're far more easily accessible, generally cheaper and can kill a soft unarmored defenseless target just as effectively as an ""aSsAuLt RiFlE"
C)I'm annoyed because we foolishly fixate on how dangerous an AR platform rifle is, but we forget that an SKS from the 1950s can shoot from detachable 30 round mags semi auto.
      D) There's already background checks Audry passed one, to buy the guns she had. I believe what's needed is more strict standards, maybe even regular checks on gun owners. What would be even nicer is some kind of compulsory organization you have to affiliate with to own a gun, where you're regularly evaluated and trained. That way, the "militia" part of our 2nd ammendment makes just a little more sense because then it will be "well regulated"
I'll leave you with this to think about, my M1 garand shoots a 30.06 round as fast as I can pull the trigger, I have 8 rounds and I can blow through them in maybe 3 seconds or less. It takes about a second to load a fresh clip into its magazine. A 30.06 is big enough and powerful enough to blow a targets joints apart. That gun was used in mainline service for 2 wars, there's no difference between the one I have and the one my grandfather used against the Germans.
My friend owns a cheap AR he's got 30 rounds, takes about the same time to squeeze of 8, maybe less. But tour chances of surviving a hit from 5.56 are far greater than getting hit with a full power cartridge like 30.06 instead of an intermediate round like 5.56 loading takes about the same amount of time, it's quick and easy. Even if he had 8 rounds in each magazine reloads would be inconsequential just like in my m1s case.
However his rifle is significantly different from the ones our police and military use. And even though his is a "cheap" setup it took him like a month to clear the checks and he was into the gun for about 4 grand all said and done.
My point is all guns are dangerous, and that's exactly why I want access to them, if others can get them illegally. If others have been rioting like they have been the past 6 years and if others are shooting up schools and malls and churches then I absolutely do not want to be caught "lackin".

Dr. Grande has made his bigotry clear for all to see. It is people like him who are the most dangerous people in the world. A supposed Mental health professional that makes qualified judgements on a person based solely on their actions on one day... and not the sum of that persons psyche and life experiences. After the fact, judgemental psychobabble, designed as click bait for the ignorant. There is no Transgender Ideology. There are just transpeople being hated on every day. One cannot justify murder of innocents. But one can try and understand why it happened. Transpeople get murdered every day, just for who they are and no-one gives a damn. I think a lot of religion is just tradition people hold onto in the culture. It defines their identity. It's a social fabric and how these people unify socially. I'm not adhered to any religion. Ive lived in various places, experiencing very different cultures. Religions as we know in the West are a bit of historically handed down tradition some good bits and pieces that actually make sense and a lot that doesn't. I attended part of my schooling in the deep South. Religion is a huge part if this region's culture, as is football 😄. If you want to see some religious nutters! Head on out into deep Appalachia. These folks with their snake handling and speaking in tongues. Cultish old time ritual behavior. Without a modern formal education, humans are apt to do this stuff. It probably sucks for some kids in strict religious families. That kind of cultish environment might seriously contribute to mental issues. However, most people that participate as Christians are NOT senseless murderers these days (Historically unfortunately people calling themselves Christians were violent). In the context of what recently happened, no exceptions or excuses for what she did to these people. Senseless violence. Pointless. Wrong.

I was a director of 2 childcare facilities that were very close to this church/ school. I dropped kids off at school literally down the street from there. For the past 2 days I will cry out of nowhere. I can't wrap my head around this. I definitely cannot understand how ANYONE can justify this evil. Stop bringing politics into this. I'm on "the left" & in NO way do I feel she is justified nor a victim. Every shooting draws attention away from the real fact it's the availability of high powered weapons. NO citizen needs those. We have daily shootings anymore, most with those type. Sure bad guys can get guns but we shouldn't make it so easy. Seconds count & with high powered weapons thousands of extra rounds can be shot before LE gets there or someone can stop them when reloading. Simple fact but it's "the right" who love to deflect they believe everyone has a right to a gun, when the constitution is taken out of context, which is proven by law professors. But you can't fight the extreme amt of $ that the NRA brings in & their sway.

With that external locus of control, I doubt the shooter felt bad about killing anyone; ‘society caused the problem, blame society’ as if they’re just the messenger.
