This is like a girl teacher walking into class one day dressed as a guy with a big elephant trunk sized prosthetic member tucked into her waist line and hanging down her pantleg like: "What? What? This is my gender expression. What's the big deal? I took a shop class in high school. The first class was all about safety. The biggest rule was that students were not allowed to wear loose fitting clothing or dangling jewelry or have their hair hanging down loose if it was long. All of these posed safety risks to getting caught up in tools and machinery. It surprised me so much that the school district did not remove this teacher from teaching that class at the very least. Surely, those artificial wobbleknockers were a safety hazard.

Exactly! I took shop class for 2 years in middle school and had to tie my hair back as soon as I entered the shop classroom. No way our teacher would let us do anything, and would have dropped our grades down if we failed to follow every safety rule. He told horror stories about women getting their long hair stuck in different machines and basically being scalped. Even if it was a wig this pervert was wearing, it would have screwed up equipment if it got stuck in something

It is bewildering that the School Board was more worried about Kayla's feelings than the feelings of the students. They deserved to have a safe classroom environment and instead were faced with a circus everyday because of the perverted needs of their teacher. Kayla insulted both women and transgender with her disrespectful costume and total negligence of her duty as an educator. I live in Toronto Ontario - not far from Oakville and the story got extensive coverage. I'm glad Kayla was removed from the classroom. Thanks for a great (and entertaining) analysis!
Not to mention a combination of someone claiming her gender identity change along with being a tacher, we are out of options, its its absolutely mind blowing that anyone's feelings in the school board is more important than the children's best interest here in Ontario. I see it everyday, I am in daily contact with these beautiful, and venerable kids.

I am ashamed that this happened in my hometown. I live in Oakville. I didn't go to this high school, but I do agree that the Halton District School Board should develop an appropriate dress for everyone. If students have to follow a dress code, teachers must also do the same. Many transgender people have dressed appropriately and did not gain national attention in Canada and the US.

I have to add that as someone who is actually working currently at a school with children and teenagers, I'm really speechless about the outfits of Kayla Lemieux because it is definitely not appropriate for teaching in front of children and teenagers. As a transwoman who’s very worried with the legislation and violence going on, this person is absolutely a problem and it’s more important now than ever that our community makes it clear we don’t approve of something clearly inappropriate like this. It’s particularly irritating because this is such an extreme contribution to the stereotype of us being freaks, when probably the majority of us want to blend in and really not attract attention. Frankly, the community needs to be able to identify and protect itself from people like this or Chris Chan for another example who obviously, clearly have other mental issues going on and or have bad intentions.

I've been saying this ever since the story initially broke: I know school cultures vary, sometimes wildly, but I've been a teacher for almost 30 years and in every single public, private, and charter school that I've personally ever known, ANY staff member of ANY gender who wore such clearly inappropriate clothing would have been reprimanded at the very least. It's hard to outright fire a teacher in most places and most circumstances, but there would be channels to follow after that initial reprimand and firing would absolutely be on the table at some point if the behavior didn't change. It's mind boggling to me that this was allowed to continue. The teacher's gender assertions are irrelevant in my opinion.

I am a clinician, and at one time worked in an agency that was geared towards the needs of those needing letters to get hormone treatment.
I was sympathetic to the transgender clients.
However, I was confused and appalled by the lack of training.
And the lack of any formal or objective criteria whatsoever.
We were told to "assess and clear for hormones" but NEVER told what questions to ask in the assessment, nor what constituted an accurate assessment, nor what counted as valid or what would be reason to deny someone.
It was more an exercise in checking off boxes. Nobody was denied a letter ... except a couple of people for reasons I did not understand.

Wow! Off the top of my head, I would think you should be asking about age when these feelings started, how long they've been living as their preferred gender (using their preferred name, dressing as preferred gender, etc), feelings of despair when living/being identified as their biological gender. You'd think someone would look over the diagnostic criteria in the DSM 5 then make a basic questionnaire.
Did any of your formal training involve dealing with this and making such determinations? If yes, how was it treating such issues and what was it recommending as the course of action?

Part of it was that before he got caught without them, he had told the school board that he had a hormonal disorder that caused the giant (real) breasts and that wearing a bra was impossible because it hurt too much or something - all of which is obviously cancelled when he's caught without them.

I thought that I had read that too. And that he's not really trans, but being over the top to prove a point because he believes it's inappropriate for teachers to dress as the opposite sex or discuss LGBTQ+ issues in school. I live two towns over and have been following the story since the beginning. For those of you outside of Ontario Canada, you may not know that the teacher's union here is so powerful that it is almost impossible to get a teacher fired. Lots of teachers in Ontario take advantage of this, usually by just not showing up for work, but still continuing to get paid. No one has ever taken it it to this extreme before. This teacher knows he can't be fired, so he pulls this stunt so that he can literally get paid for life without having to do any work ever again. Teacher's pensions in Ontario can be so high that it's possible for a retired Ontario teacher to make more in retirement pension than teachers in other parts of the world make in salary. Unless you have a child in the education system here, you really have little idea of what the teachers get away with. Even a "good" teacher might only show up for work 4 days out of 5. One Ontario teacher was actually caught running for a political office in an election while still being paid by the school board while she was on "disability" leave.

Exactly. I work in a tech trade, from time newly hired employees come in claiming mastery in knowledge and craft. Eventually it becomes clear they have lied their way into the job and are simply creating more work that others will have to take the time to correct. Unfortunately I've heard in some cases large-chested cis women will be told to dress differently or that they look unprofessional when they're dressed the same way as their colleagues, the clothes just fit them differently or it's difficult to find clothes that fit properly

This went on and on Friday he showed up and said you may have noticed I'm not wearing a wig. He said it just wasn't right for me. I went bald at 25 and did not need a wig. He taught us a valuable lesson.

The school board should have sent her home the first day she showed up wearing those breasts telling her to change. Like imagine if a student dressed like that. I'm shocked that she claims she looks professional like that. I personally have a very strong reaction about this story/situation. As a little girl, I developed very fast, and very young (by age 9/10, I required a woman's bra, sized B). It was horrific, not only because I was a total tomboy, but also because I was constantly picked on and treated unfairly (and creepily) by adults over it.
Didn't seem to matter that I was wearing kid clothes, even with cartoon stuff on it most of the time, obviously NOT trying to look like a sexually mature adult. Or that I was mentally and emotionally still very immature (I was still playing with dolls, and playing make believe games, for example). I was still constantly being told how scandalous and "too sexy" I was. Just for existing and having had puberty happen so fast. Like I had some kind of choice in the matter. Like it "proved" my sexual immorality.
I even had some friends' parents forbid them to be around me because I was a "bad influence".
"She's doing things with boys. I can tell." Like I was some Lolita.
In reality, I never even kissed a boy until I was almost 17 (all the focus on my body by people made me absolutely terrified of being physically involved whatsoever with boys), and I didn't engage in sexual activity until almost 19.
The only thing I can assume is that they decided to believe the extremely unscientific, and archaic, old wives' tales about larger breasts developing purely due to sexual activity. As if a girl's size there is actually due to them having sex. And the more they do it, the larger they get 🙄
This was a reason, for example, Henry VIII gave for finding Anne of Cleaves objectionable as a wife when he met her in person. He said he had been lied to about her "virtue", as "everyone knows" only women who aren't maidens have large chests.
Apparently, some people still thought this in the 80's? 😂
(I'm not talking about if a woman has been pregnant, they get bigger. Obviously that happens. But if a 9 or 10 year old has large breasts... It's not "proof" that that CHILD is engaging in stuff like that. And if you think that, why are you not trying to save them, then? A NINE year old shouldn't be doing that. They're being abused if they are. Do the right thing. Either admit you're judging a kid based on unscientific superstitious hooey, or you're victim-blaming. No one should be gossiping about a freaking little girl. Y'know?!)
Anyway, It was humiliating and traumatizing. It actually made me hate myself, my body, and the idea of sex in general. It actually made me have feelings of not wanting to "be around" anymore.
It took until I was 30 something, and a ton of therapy for what was basically gender dysphoria (I thought at that point maybe I was trans. Turned out I just hated being a girl because I associated it with pain and shame), for me to even be ok with my body, and my feminine body parts. Thankfully I got a really great therapist who helped me be comfortable with myself.
So, I find it particularly infuriating that suddenly it's totally fine for this person to have cartoonishly huge, obviously fake breasts around children. I'm sure the person being biologically male is completely a coincidence though 😐😂
I support trans people who are actually trans, but think A LOT of overly agreeable cowardly people are just allowing bad actors to take advantage, rather than risk "offending" people. People are so terrified of being canceled that they're letting REALLY wacky, inappropriate stuff go on in the name of "inclusivity".

I also support women to be able to wear what they want (within reason. I still think of someone's a teacher, they shouldn't be wearing what they'd wear on a "spicy" date or to a club. Be professional).
But this person is either trolling or a creep. Either way, they need to not be allowed to be a teacher. If you want to troll people to make a point, on your own time, in your own space, fine. Have a party. You do you. But it needs to not involve actual minors. Leave kids out of it!
And if you think high schoolers aren't * really * "kids", you're either not much older than them (likely under 25) yourself, or you're unhealthy emotionally.
Every healthy, emotionally mature adult knows teens are still very much immature in a lot of very critical ways. They shouldn't be put into a situation like what that teacher put them in.

Yep! Not just across the pond, it's happening here in the US as well. Some dude in a New Jersey prison decided he was a woman and requested to be transferred to a female prison. This guy was a convicted murderer, he hadn't lived as a transwoman prior to going to jail, and he had never had surgery or even been on hormone therapy. The prison board had all the wisdom of the school board in this video, because they approved his request. Soon after transfering to a woman's prison, he impregnated two other inmates... I wish I could say this story is fake, but sadly it's not. Life has become an episode of South Park.

As a person with an H cup, J was my largest, I can say that no one that large is going around without a bra on. The under boob sweat and rash ALONE would cause you to wear bras. Let alone being around a bunch of saws. I've knocked more things off of tables and shelves with my boobs than I care to admit, I definitely wouldn't DIY an accidental reduction in a workshop classroom.
Also, you can't use the excuse that you can't find bras in your size. It is difficult but you can. They aren't cheap, true. But I've made do with multiple cheap bras to keep myself from pain and injury.
