  • A look at the Bandai Models 1:350 scale Starblazers Space Battleship Yamato I built a few years ago. It features lights, sounds and motorized gun turrets operated by remote control.

    Beautiful build. That was my first anime growning up and will always have a special memory.
    That build is fantastic.

    I've seen several model builders build this kit over the years...But Boyd You went way above and beyond! When I saw the gun turrets moving and each gun go up and down...I was blown away at the detail You put into this model. Great job would be an understatement!!

      Thanks, it was a great kit to work on. Everything fit as should with minimal cleanup work. Very typical of the Bandai line of kits. It's too bad they quit making this one and they are now expensive and hard to find.

      Thanks Kenny, a lot of people are hoping that Bandai re releases the kit again. The existing ones are insanely priced these days.

      Yeah, I want one too :(
      The cheapest one I saw is like €200 in scale 1/500 without the light kit

    Seeing this, makes me love the thought of you doing the Hasagawa kits of Captain Harlock’s three (or four given the manga colour style version, five if you include the Deathshadow 2 version) Arcadia ships.
    I’m curious to see what you’d do with the other scales and kits of the Yamato/Starblazers line. Given all the Star Trek kits you’ve done.
    But seeing at least one of those Arcadia kits done by you would a great thing to see.

    Not going to lie, I have no idea if this is from something (anime??) BUT it's a really interesting take on the battleship of WWII! And the articulating guns, lighting and sound effects were all GREATLY UNEXPECTED!
    IMPRESSIVE BUILD!

    • @TrekWorks
      @TrekWorks  Před 3 lety +1

      Here in the U.S. the show was called Starblazers and the ship's name was Argo. In Japan it's called Space Battleship Yamato. They made a live action movie of it that's really good besides the animated series.
