Thor Love and Thunder is a fun space adventure, an emotional love story, and yet another mighty story for the god of thunder.
There is so much to say about this movie, and trust me we will talk about it all in future videos. But today we need to talk about what Love and Thunder means for Thor’s future and what happens next?
Thor is now an adoptive father. And being a parent presents a lot of challenges, especially when it's a child that has cosmic powers and can wield a mad-titan-killing axe.
So we need to talk about that, and what’s in store for Thor and Love.
And let’s not forget about the credits scene, Zeus sent his son Hercules to kill Thor. So that clash of the titans is going to happen in Thor 5, possibly leading to an all-out war of the gods.
But we think there might be something far darker and chaotic brewing for Thor and Love. Don’t forget about Gorr’s sword, that blade might unleash a new powerful force that will cover the universe in darkness.
Now before we begin, we just made an extensive video explaining everything about Love and Thunder’s ending.
This is not just a plug, we covered A Lot in that video. And since there is so much to cover in this video, I don’t want to rehash what we discussed in our ending explained. So be sure to check it out for a full explanation about the ending, Love, Hercules, what’s next for Jane and Valhalla.
There is a lot to talk about, so let’s stop wasting time on this intro, and get into the video already!
Ok, first we need to start with Thor and Love.
In the end of the movie, Thor convinces Gorr to abandon his evil plans of killing all the gods. And instead, use Eternity’s genie powers to bring his daughter back to life.
Interesting parallels here to Thanos. The mad titan was so set on his mission that he sacrificed his daughter.
But Gorr proved that deep down he is Batman, and he chose his child over his obsession.
Thor is now the adoptive father of Love. The movie ends with them teaming up, as space heroes. Thor wields Mjolnir once again, while Love swings Strombreaker.
The opening montage of the movie establishes that the one thing missing in Thor’s life is love. He lost so much, and it seemed like he could never find true love. But now he found love, litherly.
He’s a father now. And this is a completely new and uncharted territory for the god of thunder. Not just in the MCU, something like this didn’t actually happen in the comics.
Thor might have lived for over 1,500 years, but this is the first time - that we know of - that he became a father.
And Thor had a very complicated relationship with his own father.
That could be part of the reason why Thor broke up with Jane after the Dark World, he wasn't just afraid of the responsibility of having kids.
He might have been worried that he’s way too much like his own dad, and he was afraid of repeating all of Odin’s parenting mistakes.
And now, Thor adopted the child of his enemy, just like Odin did with Loki.
So some of those fears might bubble back to the surface, because Thor is litherly repeating the past.
And he already gave Love a powerful magical weapon, just like his own dad did.
Yeah good parenting there, dad.
Sure, why not give your kid a titan killing axe that can withstand the power of all six infinity stones.
I don’t know, maybe start with something a little less overkill, like a toy axe. Then slowly transition her into the titan-killing-axe, like maybe when she’s 21. Just saying.
So that’s going to be Thor’s struggle, how does he parent Love. But since Thor is on the path of finding a new purpose, that’s a good sign to his future as a father.

1. Knull, Black Winter & Hunger were born from the Anti-All, but the Chaos King is Oblivion's version of Captain Universe. Eternity is the embodiment of life in the universe, with his counterpart Infinity overseeing the expansion of the universe. Their opposites are Death that embodies death in the universe, with her counterpart Oblivion overseeing the contraction of the universe. All 4 are connected via the Living Tribunal. He has 3 faces representing Necessity (Eternity/Infinity), Equity (Galactus) & Vengeance (Death/Oblivion). Galactus' job to keep the balance is undermined by him being weaker than the rest of them due to his hunger.
2. Rune King Thor is a higher priority than Old King Thor, as it is the superior form.
3. Beta Ray Bill shouldn't appear & Amora isn't really a villain anymore.
4. Rune King Thor & Chaos War Hercules vs army of malevolent gods led by the Chaos King would be awesome. Cul, Mangog, The God of Hammers, Nyx, etc. The Morrigan could appear fighting alongside Thor & hint at the X-men, due to the current Morrigan being the daughter of X-man Banshee.
5. Loki revealing he faked his death to hunt for the Infinity Stones after Thanos sent them to the Quantum Realm. Thor, due to being the King of Valhalla & having Wisdom from Mimir's Well, is given the Mind & Soul Stones, Hercules is given the Power Stone, Strange is given the Space & Time Stones & the Silver Surfer is given the Reality Stone.
I hope we get Hercules Disney plus series and chaos king will play a huge part are going to see enchantress and beta ray bill in Mcu or both appearing in Loki season 2
These “titles” are a scam, and I lose a little bit of respect for ya every time you promote them.
Chris is on record saying he will play Thor until the end of his career. He loves the character, it pays the bills, now his daughter is an official employee. I suspect we will have Chris as thor for another decade. He doesnt need any other gigs and can live his life and raise his family the way he sees fit. Unlike say Evans, Hemsworth loves the gig. Evans did to but he wanted the money to do other projects. I think aside from RDJ, Hemsworth is the other face of the MCU.
I really enjoyed this movie. I really like how the title didnt make sense until the end of the movie. Chris and his daughter are gonna make an even bigger impact to the franchise and im here for it.

I think Thor and Doctor Strange will need to team up to protect the multiverse. Doctor Strange mentioned to Thor before how he keeps a watchlist of entities that be a threat to the world. Given the impending danger of incursions and cosmic-level enemies such as Galactus, these guys need to stay in contact with each other.

Rather than introducing yet another dark being of ultimate power, they could just introduce Cthon, since he was hinted at in Dr Strange 2. They could merge Chaos King, Knull and Cthon's motives and personalities into one

I would prefer that Cthon is reserved as a very big bad for later, and that Chaos King/Knull is a mini-boss spawned by Cthon. They need to get there sooner than later, even if they just tease these connections and point more directly to Cthon looming in the MCU as the big big bad, like they did with Thanos in ending credits scenes of earlier movies.
I'm so happy people are realizing that the plot has been Knull all along.
Shang-chi's monster. Venom's piece in the MCU. Now the Necro Sword.
It's like the build up with the infinity stones to Thanos. This is exactly what's happening right now.

Remember that they are up to something. How venom entered the mcu long enough to leave behind a spawn. And the appearant multiversal awareness that venom had in recognizing spiderman didn't happen in the comics untill the introduction of knull in the comics.
Exactly. There seems to be misdirection between Kang & Celestials as the big enemy. Yet, that all seems to be fake.
The real enemy is Knull, and he's coming.
Shang Chi's monster was definitely a symbiote.
Venom, as you said, left a piece of himself to find Spider Man.
And now, the Necro Sword was officially introduced. As well, as the creature that held it. Which we also know to be a symbiote.
Amora would be a good choice for Loki's mom. Would help explain the similarities between her and Sylvie, as well.
I would like to see Amora the Enchantress in the films, she was a great villainess in the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon. Plus if they did, then we might get to see the Masters of Evil in the MCU as well.
I was so underwhelmed by that Hercules scene. No idea who that actor was.
I have now watched all of Ted Lasso in two days and I love it. He's cool.

That said, as I can separate the two things and after watching the actor in Ted Lasso, in which I enjoyed his performance, I believe I would enjoy him as a dry humoured, ruthless brute type like he played in the series.
Forgot to mention Loki too. I doubt they’ll end either or both stories without reuniting them

Love and Thunder had all the ingredients to make a great movie, Taika just chose to make it the way he did.
Will we see Hemsworth's daughter in another movie, or do you think this was a one-shot and the next time we see Love she will be aged up? (the second is my personal preference)
I really like this theory of yours and goes deeper into the MCU Gods more and the tier system they are working on in the MCU
I think he giving stormbreaker to love is temporary, a way to for him to take Mjnoir back so if they introduce beta ray bill he can take stormbreaker and love play someone else or become someone else in the MCU

I would love to have Knull in the MCU with all his "God is Commingness" and badassery. However, I think I get why they have just ignored him for now: Too big a villain just to hint him right away. Imagine if Thanos was just a One-movie villain, that would be a diservice to knull, they would need to have a couple of mcu phases around him and heck, even do some absolute carnage too. The guy is literally a God-Level final Boss.

Love this video! I like how you dive into the lore and create your theories as opposed to just critiquing the movie.
I liked the movie but my kids liked it much more. I think this story would have been better for Thor 5, and the war of gods happening in Thor 4. We never get the impression that these gods are powerful, so we don't know if gorr was powerful. I really think they downplayed gorr while us fans were expecting so much more.
Well, considering the actors' kids are involved in the making process, that sounds about right. Children during my viewing had eager and wild reactions too. It seems they ARE the primary audience to this.
Oh, and yeah, high expectation can lead to disappointment. Which is why I lowered mine all the time to end up feeling satisfied and pleased by what I just saw.

it would be cool if marvel and sony worked together to do a multiversal crossover with Knull. Maybe after secret wars, the existence of Knull could be a cliffhanger or something. They're doing the Madam Web thing, so building up to something wacky like that could be cool.
I want to Thor to unleash all his power after loosing love. He did something like that in the comics as old king thor and destroy the whole necroverse along with pillars of creation.

What threw me off is the fact that only the bifrost was able to open the door to Eternity...out of all things in existence in the MCU, why only the bifrost? Maybe some other kind of device would have made it less "Asgardian only" access

The first image you used was Singularity, not Captain Universe. I think tying it to the Enigma Force, which happened in the King in Black Venom event, would give Sony too much claim to that concept. Singularity is from an Avengers book, so there is less likely to be legal issues.
I love this channel's future film theories. So much so that I'm let down when the mcu doesn't go in these clearly epic directions

Bro, Thor is definitely suitable for the role of 'Leader of the gods'. With the Odinforce & the power of lightning & weather, as u can c in Dark World, Thor stops the rain were Jane is, Thor will be an awesome king & protector of all 9 realms. It's a big job, but Thor won't do it alone, as u said, he'll have a team. I really believe this is were the universe wants him to be, and boy would that be epic to watch!
And also the fact that Amatsu-Mikaboshi literally WAS in Thor Love and Thunder. He is sitting there among the Japanese Gods in his Female Form which he sometimes assumed in the comics before ascending as Chaos King. It looks very comic accurate too

Thor did not want to have kids with Jane because the fear of loss, his children and Jane would die and Thor will live on another 5000 years. Then he switch his mindset when he knows Jane would die with cancer so he wants to enjoy every moments with her

I feel like it's gonna take a miracle for Sony to let Taika Watiti and Kevin Feige keep the history of the Necro Sword in the comics and put it into the MCU with Null beheading a Celestail. As for the conflict for a Potential Thor 5 I feel like it's gonna be Zeus wants revenge so sends Hercules to kill Thor but then when Hercules can't pull himself to kill Thor Zeus hires another villain like Odin's uncle from the comics and Thor's uncle wants revenge on Asgard since Odin sometime before the Thor Loki conversation with Odin when Thor and Loki were kids in the 1st Thor film banished his brother from ever entering Asgard

I like to think that some of the heroes of the current MCU will park and let the young avengers start handling and only come out for Thanos level threats. Maybe then my daughter can come to the movies with me and I can slowly pass the baton of theories to her!
With Al Ewing's latest run pitting the Guardians (and Hercules) against Zeus and the rest of the greek pantheon, I wonder if those two will cross paths in Guardians 3...
Also, I would LOVE a Valkyrie movie with Val, Jane, and Sif (and maybe Angela?) teaming up to do a War of the Realms style adventure.
I would love for them to have Beta Ray Bill straight and a powerhouse like Thor. They could fight and knock each other out. Then he could ask for Thors help and Thor could give him Storm Breaker and they could fight Mangog together.

You're wrong about the axe. Its only as powerful as the person wielding it. That's why when fat Thor fights Thanos with Captain America and Iron man it's clear he's not strong enough to win. Despite having almost killed Thanos while Thanos was fully empowered by the Infinity gauntlet. If the axe was so powerful the fight at the end of Endgame would have been much shorter.

Fat Thor was nerfed Thor so he would need Cap and Iron Man's help in the fight. Don't get me wrong he still tanked against Thanos. When we got peak Thor again in Love and Thunder he easily koed Zeus, he made Gorr look like a punk except in the shadow realm and at the end of the film cause he was just wielding lightning bolt and gave his Axe to axel to transport kids away. If he would of dual wielded both he would of smoked Gorr. Instead he still held his own and then held the Sword in place while Jane Foster destroyed it. Dude is op as hell in shape lol.

I think that Jane will end up coming back as a valkyrie, like in the comics. Doesn't King Valkyrie call Jane "sister" at one point? I feel like I remember noticing that in the scene where KV talks to JF in the doorway after the sink bashing moment. Am I remembering correctly?
