25% is a lot without putting in any money. Conversely, that’s like saying the Chef that prepares the dish shouldn’t get paid because he didn’t buy the ingredients.
Nope. He's not owed 25%. He is owed an income and that's it. People think Brandon is soft because he's eccentric and different. Fred didn't help grow anything. He was employed BY Brandon. If Brandon hadn't brought him on no one would even know who Fred is. No one can go their employer and tell them they want 25% of their company. The lesson: Always have a lawyer and contract involved on the front in. Also, Fred and the other one wanted to leave anyway. They wanted to do their own thing because they didn't like the idea of "working for" Brandon. That was always clear. Egos got the best of them.
I agree with Brandon. Of er say we're going to go 25% each person, tuen we need to go 25% each person on expenses too. Because if it's not successful, they aren't asking for anything and won't pay Brandon back that 25% he paid out for everything.

They shouldve invested or became paid employees. They cant say they did it all together cuz somebody (brandon) is doing more work than others. Who on audio? who on video? Whose on editing? Without those guys i am athlete doesn’t grow to what it is now! Like cam said even though he didn’t put money in they helped grow the show. Shows what kind of person Brandon is.
Fred is an intangible asset and possesses intellectual property - that is equivalent to if not more than money. He should have been valued as such. Some people come to deals with money, others come with intangible assets, others come with intellectual property, and sometimes people come with products. Either way He was an asset to the show and should have been able to capitalize on that. It could/should have been percentage of ownership/profit sharing, annual bonus - if it’s worth it to you: let’s negotiate. If you don’t value your partner, they’ll become a competitor. Just a thought. Enjoy your day.
Investing Time makes you an Employee. Investing Your Money Makes You a Partner. People have no idea the things the people putting up the money go through to keep the shxt moving & Growing.
Both sides are understandable for sure. Business wise Brandon is 100% correct, pay raise can be discussed but part of the revenue isn’t considered when there’s no investment.
This is why you should always have papers showing some sort of ownership. If he didn’t put any money in and his name isn’t on anything you are owed NOTHING.
That’s why you start an LLC and create an operating agreement. In that agreement, you establish ownership percentages of the company and how owners will be paid out. That way you have a legally binding contract to default to when people want to get upset.
Funny how Brandon got this to say when Fred, Channing, & the 9x Emmy winning producer Alicia left to start the Pivot. Alicia says she’s still owed too.
I learned a long time ago when trying to do business with someone you know or consider a friend, get everything in writing, make it all Legally binding. Whether you put money down or want to negotiate a percentage because you put in time and help build, whatever it may be, get a lawyer and have everything done the correct way.
If what he's saying is true? I 💯% agree with B Marsh. If you disagree then you've never started a business and put your own money up! I had "business partners" who I gave every opportunity to invest at the VERY beginning. They got paid along the way but wanted to negotiate part ownership after 8 months since they helped "build" the company. I told them they can BUY part ownership....but I'm not giving you the reward if you wasn't willing to take the risk. You invested time. I invested money AND TIME. We are not the same 😂
This situation is like a marriage one sided financially then as time past that person feel like they are owed. The crazy part is these two scenarios should play out the same but they how is one right or wrong & the other not ???

If i put up 100% cash you put in zero. If my earnings is 10 mil and you want 2 mil. Nah fam.
Without me you wouldn’t get that 10m.
@@realdyltheboxer5087He would have actually but that’s besides the point. B Marsh should of allowed them to put money into the pot
You take care of the people that grow your investment. It's called good ownership. This is going to hurt him in the long run of keeping good employees, Or investors partnering up with a man who burns his employees. And his logic is what he said on Camara.
Sweat equity my brother
Broke people don't know how money works you put in or you get out if you stayed and put nothing in you an employee
“You wasn’t wit me shootin in the gym”
That may be true but now he has nothing because he didn't realize he was not the talent people wanted to see
@@MikeSmith-px4hsthat’s not true. You speak from emotions! You have no facts just an opinion only
@111qp2 no I speak from a business owner's perspective. U just like reading your words online and no one has told u saying THATS NOT TRUE man make u feel good but if you're not a business owner shut your mouth when adults are talking. 🤣🤣🤣
This why Cam and Mase shining 🌟 they took care of the business from the jump. Look at them now. IT IS WHAT IT IS 🙏🏿
After hearing this 25 was a lot but they deserved a piece because they did make the podcast what it was
Fred and Chan made that podcast. The whole IAA facilities and such is a different entity
Fred barely talked in most episodes 😂😂😂 but Chan was like comic relief but ocho was more crucial to me
fasle
@@WillMotivationeveryone had a role so denying that Brandon is essential just because people don't like him shows the bias in people and not seeing that he doing a good job with everything that going on. when something is on hold most people see it as failure instaed of seeing as growth
For me what made IAA was Ocho and B Marsh, Ocho was the funniest imo and Was willing to debate and argue with B Marsh. But no matter what to ask 25% of a company that you didn’t invest anything into is alittle far imo. I’ll give you 10 percent and maybe help invest into your own segment and let you have that but you ain’t invest and before IAA no one was checking in on Fred and Chan at all
@@user-hg4hz1lx2h well said
I don't put up any money for the company I work for, but I'm paid for growing it. How do you not pay your employees my Boi? 6hrs of work per day is work bro. Idk about 25% but pay them something.
He never said he didn’t pay them he just said I’m not giving a percentage of my company so which means if they ever decide to quit the show or leave b Marshall still won’t have to pay them or they won’t have any ownership
Right but you agreed to a salary.
@cameronervin4209 Why are his employees accusing him of not getting paid? I'm not just talking about the guy that wants 25%. I guess only Brandon knows why he stiffed his employees... Bad business employer/investor. Great on investment but horrible at business.
@@antoinerogers2692 correct + 7% of revenue growth at the end of the year. Great business to work for.
@@jonathanjimenez1162bruh he pays them it's like employees want a share of the company but didn't put shit in
25% is a lot without putting in any money. Conversely, that’s like saying the Chef that prepares the dish shouldn’t get paid because he didn’t buy the ingredients.
B Marsh you dead ass right for not giving him nothing. He choose to participate in that podcast he should've put something in.
That was about the 4th or 5th version he has told. He needs to face it, he had a good thing and totally blew it. IAA is fast becoming forgotten.
BMarshall is full of CaCa! The Pivot is winning. And I Am Athlete is trash now. Cam, you're a real one. Keep coming with that Funky Friday content. 🔥
If you don’t invest, you don’t get a percentage of ownership…you’re a damn idiot if you give a percentage of your company to people who only decided to be employees rather than chip in.
Facts
If the entity flops, was he gone pay 25% of money Brandon loss?
Sounds like they didn’t believe in it until it popped then wanted to talk money. B should have gotten some kind of contractual agreement between the guys whether flat fee per episode or a percentage out the gate.
@@TheRAMMShow Exactly 💯
I’m not owed 25%
“Nooo” ever so lightly lmfao
Bro dropped the ball nobody’s podcast come close to it
They shouldve invested or became paid employees. They cant say they did it all together cuz somebody (brandon) is doing more work than others. Who on audio? who on video? Whose on editing? Who doing meetings with sponsors? These mfs sat in a living room and thought they deserved to be paid equally lol
Facts
These are people who are used to actually being paid well for their time. I have a hard time fully taking BM side of the story as fact.
It's called negotiation though. If he asks for 25% you counter at 15% and go from there
No
@thrillhouse4784 I'm not saying either is right, I'm just saying there was probably a way to work it out
Ain’t no damn negotiating, he doesn’t owe them shit! They should have put 25% of the investment down if he wants 25% ownership lol. I don’t get how that’s so hard to understand
@@A_Realist how does owing them nothing work out? Freddie & them chilling while Marshall complaining
@@SportsSpeak73 they were essentially employees. If Fred and Channing wanted a percentage they should have negotiated BEFORE all of this happened but since they didn’t have business sense they got what they got. They didn’t invest a dime but want an ownership stake, where the hell they do that at?!
I don’t know if Brandon payed them a salary or they just did it for fun as a hobby but it ain’t his fault that Channing and Fred don’t understand simple business logic, it’s not his job to teach them about how this shit works, they’re grown ass men!
B Marsh spot on... Aint no free investments
Unequaled Money, power and attention= ruined relationships. 100% of the time.
Cam has a point. Marshall could have charged Fred what he felt was worth the investment. Business is about negotiating
Without those guys i am athlete doesn’t grow to what it is now! Like cam said even though he didn’t put money in they helped grow the show. Shows what kind of person Brandon is.
True then you can say Without IAA the majority wouldn’t Know Freddy T & Channing to the degree that the world does now either tho so it’s both ways
Thats like going to restaurants that just opened and saying "im not giving you money but when you make it i want partial ownership"
Get this fake off the podcast!! Bring some people that can give us REAL LIFE VALUE!!
As mentally ill Brandon Marshall is, he has created generations of wealth for his family for eons.
@@yourtrappedinmygenjutsubecause he played football
Your Real Life Value shouldn’t come from a podcast bro… go outside and social or something😂
25 percent is beyond wild lol I'd maybe ask for a lil chunk of change. 1 time payment sort of thing but A WHOLE QUARTER STAKE!!!? Foh
That " NO " was hilarious 😂
Investing Time makes you an Employee. Investing Your Money Makes You a Partner. People have no idea the things the people putting up the money go through to keep the shxt moving & Growing.
So, Instead of 75% of a thriving podcast... you have 100% of a dwindling one.
Good shit.
If you're gonna do that you gotta explain that crap right off the bat And there has to be a contract that way everybody's covered
Both sides are understandable for sure. Business wise Brandon is 100% correct, pay raise can be discussed but part of the revenue isn’t considered when there’s no investment.
I could even see if he asked for 10% but a 4th is wild Freddy T and I love them both but B. Marsh gotta stand on business 💯
Sweat equity is very important. However, real equity is king. You pay you call the shots. Many jurors have agreed on this
Dot every i, cross every t. Keep your business buttoned up from the jump. It helps you protect interpersonal relationships
Employees help businesses grow everyday. They don’t take the loss they don’t deserve the gain. That simple
3 SIDES TO EVERY STORY....
THERES 1 SIDE, THERE'S THE OTHER, AND THERE'S THE TRUTH.
Yall gotta hear the full story....this man is full of the stuff that floats!😂
This is why you should always have papers showing some sort of ownership. If he didn’t put any money in and his name isn’t on anything you are owed NOTHING.
The soft spoken “no.” 😂😂😂
Cam seems like a legit man. Straight shooter. Tells BMarsh he is wrong in the most polite way possible.
Anybody saying Fred made the pod is bsing! Lmaooo. Chad and Channing made the pod have light and B marsh was the well rounded host!
IM WIT MARSHALL ON THIS ONE 😮
Brandon could have worked at a phased ownership plan up to 25% if Fred didnt put up
That’s why you start an LLC and create an operating agreement. In that agreement, you establish ownership percentages of the company and how owners will be paid out. That way you have a legally binding contract to default to when people want to get upset.
You can bet the crew from the Pat MacAfee Show aren’t demanding an equal share in the show…
I agree with him. This is how business works and that "NO" was legit. 😂
Friends is Friends, this is business
-Nino Brown
Funny how Brandon got this to say when Fred, Channing, & the 9x Emmy winning producer Alicia left to start the Pivot. Alicia says she’s still owed too.
The Pivot doing numbers!
Boogie Faxxx brother ✊🏾🤘🏾
He should've countered with "at least let me recoup the money i invested" then we can discuss the split, if that was truly his dawg fr
I don't see how he gets 25% without putting the money, he at least have to pay a fee
I learned a long time ago when trying to do business with someone you know or consider a friend, get everything in writing, make it all
Legally binding.
Fred helped build the brand. He’s not owed 25% but I wouldn’t have him some percentage of ownership.
Maybe not 25 but he is owed something he did help build the platform
I prefer The Pivot over I Am Athlete but Brandon Marshall does have a point. Honestly the deal should have been 25% a day promise to recoup what would have been your part of the investment. I see their point too though on how things went down.
Fred Taylor living in a fantasy world, that’s not how business or the real world works.
I'm with BM on this one. If it fails who takes the financial hit? The investor's. Case closed.
