Brother Jared…what a beautiful lesson. I had fallen away from the church for 19 years….during that time I eventually quit praying…I allowed the adversary to convince me that I was lost to my addictions…so, day by day I found myself giving up….no way to repent…why even try?
Six years ago…one morning, it was as if a friend put his arm around me, and asked…”can you see where your life is going”?
From that point, I began to repent…prayer by prayer…day by day…year by year. Today I am an ordinance worker…on a recent endowment session, as I observed the patrons filing in…this same Spirit asked…”can you see where your life is now?” For the first time I realized that my broken heart had been completely healed! The Lords Mercy Seat is real, and this I seek now every day. ❤️😇. David

THANK YOU, Brother. Thank you for sharing your conversion experience. Knowing that the Savior knew the true measure of your love and the pains he felt prior to his death because he knew you would not fail, and you were worth every drop of blood, every bit of anguish. He saw you as his salt, the life enriching season of the earth. He knew you would return with full vigor of faith, he sent you, his cherished brother, the warmth of his care filled miracle. WoW! I pray that my son (Storm),can feel his arms around him, as you have, that he could recognize that HE HAS NEVER LEFT HIM and WILL NEVER LEAVE HIM. THANK YOU for returning with vigor ❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️

As a fairly new convert, I just received my endowment last week, and went through the veil for the first time. Your description of going through Jesus' body as we go through the veil made me have a new understanding of this wonderful event. A whole new feeling of understanding has happened. I understand so much deeper his sacrifice for me.Thank you.

This Easter message of my past sins being swallowed up in our Savior Jesus Christ gives me a feeling of joy and peace I have never aloud myself to have. I have labored with the weight of past choices heavy on my shoulders though repented of long ago. I have never felt worthy that the atonement of Jesus Christ actually meant I not only could, but that I have been invited to come boldly to His throne. I am overwhelmed at the understanding that I, even I can come boldly.

My husband and I work in the temple 3 days a week, usually as veil coordinators. We were deeply moved with your closing analogy in your Easter segment of the body of Christ being represented by the veil, an idea I quietly taught my sister veil workers as we waited to serve. I have always felt great reverence for the veil, but this analogy will stick with me. In your last segment you began with comfort to those parents that have wayward children. Of our 12 children 8 have left activity in the church. The last child was particularly painful since she had served a mission, married in the temple, and had been active up until about 8 months ago. We just found out, so conference was a difficult experience as we coped with our grief. Thank for your comforting words.

One of the concerns I have had about the Come Follow Me program was that other important parts of scripture would be ignored when we only focused on reading assignments. I really appreciate how you Brother H frequently turn to other parts of the scripture in your lessons. Often you refer to other scriptures that are true gems that I had overlooked in my previous forays in the scripture. I really like the scriptures to referred to in 2 Corinthians and in Hebrews. I stopped to video to study them more in context. I was a little shocked to find that the footnotes in the New Testament did not refer them to their Old Testament context. I added my own footnotes.

Thank you. You have truly inspired your studies to spend more time in the scriptures. It takes the heart and the mind, it's an investment of our whole mind and heart. Surely no matter how deep we study the Scriptures when we look deeply to see our Savior there we find how deep that search goes for we can never go deep enough. The picture that unfolds to us always brings us a longing to know more to be there, to see our Savior coming out of the toum, To fall at His feet and hold them close. To release at last all those feelings and thoughts and all our love and gratitude and know we will never be able to express it all. We will always stand in awe of our Savior how beautiful that is and what pleases Him most is that we learn and love the Commandments so we can live in Heaven again when this life is over and enjoy being with our Heavenly Father & our Savior, our family's forever and meat our Heavenly Mother - seeing both of our Heavenly Parents together and our Savior with our family and friends and the Angels who have helped us, even the Holy Ghost as well - it's hard to not get lost in those thoughts - you just want to stay there. But now it's time to be busy doing as the Hyme says. Thank you for this Easter lesson bring together the standard works of The Gospel, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints.

Christians believe that the Cross is the center of their church., that it is the door to God's kingdom, that Jesus sacrificed His life for us so we could have life through Him. Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. The greatest love of all. Knowing the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe in Him, according to the working of His mighty power, Quoted in Eph 1:19. Jesus Christ became our great Priest and mediator, He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. Col 1:15 He is ahead of the church and all fullness dwells. He redeemed us and gave us new life. Wisdom was given to those who believe in Him.

19:45. Brother Jared, I believe the Lord's presence on the mercy seat was sometimes literal and not always symbolic.
Yes! The Ark is a conveyance, a sedan chair, throne and mercy seat. And that mercy seat has the cherubim whose wings meet "on high" with enough *space* for a man to sit , even The Great JEHOVAH the TRUE and LIVING GOD !
    Exodus 25: 20 -

At 107.27, you mention Elisha lying down upon the boy who was dead or seemed to be? Listening to a discussion on the old testament by BYU with D. Kelly Ogden, he said that he was conducting a tour with some physicians. One of the physicians described the boy's condition as Stokes-Adams syndrome, if I am remembering it right. You would have to check on it further. But the Lord knew what his condition was and what Elisha needed to do to save the boy. This is just an observation . . . love your ability and way of bringing home a point. You are truly a gifted teacher, helping people in the way they need to be helped . . . like the boy . . .

I want to come boldly to throne of grace to obtain mercy and grace. I do not know what is stopping me.
I have a testimony that Jesus is the Christ and I appreciate His atonement but there is something keeping me at a distance.
Not sure what is but I hope I figure it out.
In the meantime studying scriptures with you is helping me to close the gap.

I personally believe the Savior knew who touched him when the woman with the issue of blood was healed. He was and is totally omniscient therefore I believe he wanted to give her the opportunity to confess what she had done so it would be a more powerful learning experience for all present

When you mentioned that the Hebrew writer was beckoning us forward towards the Throne of God, and you said the first word, "Come", in this phrase, I couldn't help but think about a line from the song, "The Drummer Boy".
While this is a fictional character with his own fictional story, I remember the line, "Come, They told Me...". This story was an invitation for All people to come unto Jesus Christ.
In reality, there were lowly people who came Early to a type of Throne or Mercy Seat when Jesus Christ was born. They were the Shepherds. Through the message of Angels, literally, they (the Shepherds) were able to come humbly, yet Boldly, before the Son of God.

I'm more than halfway through this one on Spotify, but giving it a view and a like here, too. One part I liked was when you compared "Who touched me?" (the woman with the issue of blood touched Jesus' clothing) to "Who's honking, Lord? *Everybody's* honking!" . . . I need to ponder more often the fact that Jesus bled and died for me and "lives to [do all the things that the hymn I Know That My Redeemer Lives says]."

Loved the reference to Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark! Interestingly, the scene referenced is also mentioned in the book of Isaiah chapter 13 verses 7 & 8 " every man's heart shall melt and their faces shall be as flames"

Funny mentioning Moses 6. I missed this one in my feed and have been struggling to prepare the Easter lesson for adult Sunday School. It is already prepared and yet as I prayed I was impressed to play a game with the class. A mind game of connecting everything in the Lesson's up this point to Jesus Christ and what happened and the atonement. Fun times. Hope it goes well and that hope will lead me to action.

    Bem haja!

Brother Halverson, thank you for the beautiful lessons. I respectfully request for you to consider leaving the scripture that you put up longer instead of going right back to watching you talk? most times I would love to be able to reread that scripture three and four times while listening to you talk about it instead of just watching you talk. Thanks again for your good work.

Do you have any advice for someone who is reticent to "come boldly before the throne of grace" because of D&C 88:65? Sometimes I am hesitant to ask for anything because it "might" bring condemnation, because it might not be expedient.

Does anyone know if there is a transcript for this podcast? I want to study this episode over and over and over.

    • @ScottsChristmasChannel
      @ScottsChristmasChannel Před 2 lety +1

From a computer you can do the following. CZcams automatically generates transcripts. They can be found by clicking the 3 horizontal dots (...) on the far right of "thumbs up & down" , share & save buttons. Clicking the 3 dots will open a menu w/ "open transcript" option. Clicking it will open a window with the transcript. The transcript includes a time stamp which can be turned off by clicking the 3 vertical buttons. To select all the text, place the cursor on the first word and press AND HOLD THE LEFT MOUSE BUTTON THAN DRAG THE CURSOR TO THE bottom of the transcript window. You do NOT have to drag all lthe way to the bottom of the transcribed text. All the text will be highlighted once you drag to the bottom of the window. The text can then be copied and pasted into a word processor. The is NO punctuation in the transcribed text. Also the text will require "paragraph justification" correction to eliminate the short choppy lines. or just read them as they are. I hope this helps

A few typos I did not catch: "hold the left mouse button THEN (not than) drag"; "THERE is no punctuation" not "the is no punctuation"

Oh goodness. I don’t mean to be disrespectful, especially because you share/teach so much spiritual beauty through this podcast, but it just dawned on me as I reread the title of this podcast ……
I just made the correlation. Come boldly to the “Throne” of grace ……. you went boldly to your in-laws’ bathroom: the “throne” room ….. too much good humor to pass up. 😂
