  • When James McGibney discovered the ‘king of revenge porn’ Hunter Moore, he instantly hated him. While planning how to take him down, a member of Anonymous contacted James and offered to team up.
Hunter Moore was then known as the ‘Internet’s most hated man’, and his infamous site was where men went to post revenge porn photos of women, alongside identifying details like their addresses and social media profiles - setting the women up to be harassed and shamed on and offline.
After pretending to be Hunter’s friend, James managed to buy Hunter’s site from under him, bringing down the 'most hated man on the internet’.

I want to say thank you to James. When I was 19 years old I had photos hacked from my personal email and put on Hunter's website. I was humiliated. I went to lawyers and law enforcement asking for help or what could be done, but at the time there was nothing available to charge him. I eventually let go of the embarrassment it caused me and realized it was removed from the web and turned into an anti-bully website. I had no idea who was behind it. Thank you again, so much.

Sadly this isn't uncommon, there was a case in Brazil (I believe) in the 90's where a young girl and 2 of her friends were taken hostage by her ex boyfriend in her parents home and because the media was swarming and communicating with him, it delayed the rescue for like 2 days. It's an absolute WILD story, he even manages to recapture one of the hostages at one point. Nick Crowley just recently did a video on it, i highly recommend yall check it out :)

There's a Deron Brown special about it that shows the effect with a real audience, but it's the same force that results in football riots, or city riots that loot and destroy all the local shops. In which social justice makes people's morals and ethics more flexible than they would normally be. There's also the natural human inclination to gawk at car crashes and other disasters. I feel generally that the worst offenders were the early uptake when there was no popularity or competitiveness and peer pressure and it was purely a malicious action.
Once it hit critical mass much of the traffic would have likely been gawkers looking for someone they knew, so they're not really the problem. It's the people submitting photos and details and the one's that made it popular enough to essentially go viral amongst the disaffected young male population, mainly entitled white males who feel the world owes them a perfect girlfriend and as they can't have one then they'll gladly make sure no one else can enjoy one by any means possible. I'd imagine that most of them have narcissistic type personality disorders and even though a relatively small percentage of the population conforms to that that specification they tend to form around these nuclei.

It's not just about you keeping those photos or your partner having those photos, it's about someone else taking those photos from you unawares. Everyone believes that their phone is a secure device, but it is very much not.

It’s so terrifying to watch the full story of Hunter as an adult. I have distinct memories of going through Twitter “after dark” as teenage and seeing him degrade, humiliate, and expose intimate photos of girls. I didn’t even know he (and the visitors of the website) hacked innocent people, posted their address, parents place of work, etc. The laws need to align with the illegal online activity to get perverts like him arrested, with no parole. It still baffles me how he was on live TV admitting to his crimes, but wasn’t arrested or questioned? This is the equivalent of him being a sex offender, sex trafficking, and having child p**nography. Abusers (and incels) like this need to be traced, followed, and tried in court. There’s so much evidence and the survivors deserve a chance to see him locked up!

@@d3pr0fundis Researchers believe that two paths can lead to psychopathy: one dominated by nature, the other by nurture. For some children, their environment-growing up in poverty, living with abusive parents, fending for themselves in dangerous neighborhoods-can turn them violent and coldhearted. These kids aren’t born callous and unemotional; many experts suggest that if they’re given a reprieve from their environment, they can be pulled back from psychopathy’s edge.
But other children display callous and unemotional traits even though they are raised by loving parents in safe neighborhoods. Large studies in the United Kingdom and elsewhere have found that this early-onset condition is highly hereditary, hardwired in the brain-and especially difficult to treat. Abigail Marsh, a researcher at Georgetown University who has studied the brains of callous and unemotional children, says that “We’d like to think a mother and father’s love can turn everything around, but there are times where parents are doing the very best they can, but the kid-even from the get-go-is just a bad kid.”

Like James, I hate bullies - they are the worst of the worst. People who use others to prop up their massive egos, trying to fill the void of their souls, people who consume others, steal their lives, destroy and change them forever. CZcams's recommendation of this video exposed me to an individual I wish I hadn't encountered. However, it also served as a reminder that there are individuals out there who possess the ability to hold wrongdoers accountable for their actions. Salute to James.

      Anonymous doesn't exist.
Until it does. Without a cause to rally behind and enough skilled and interested individuals outside of government entities, anonymous doesn't exist and only comes into existence as a temporary group project.

@@TheCallOfDutyFreak No. It sometimes is a group of activists. Anonymous isn't something you can concretely define like that. You can't just go to the Wiki and expect to understand how this works in reality.
