    In this video, Chris walks us through the installation process to upgrade the Fog lights, Low Beam, and Turn Signal bulbs for the 2011-2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. These upgrades drastically improve your output and make your nighttime driving much safer!
    NOTE: If your Grand Cherokee has the factory HID your front turn signals are already LED and the only kit you can upgrade would be the Fog lights.

    These are awesome. I bought the 6000k 55w kit and put it in my 2014 Grand Cherokee... Hella difficult to remove the stock bulb, but once its out, these are easy AF to install and look incredible. I can finally see more than 15 feet in front of me.

      Myles Gelóneck Yeah that’s the reason why I haven’t gone HIDs, I hear too many problems with ballasts that stop working and bulbs not igniting, especially where I live where below -30° is pretty common in winter. Good quality LEDs work nicely and don’t give as much trouble.

Grab a couple zip ties and hang the ballasts from any factory wire loom or somewhere to the body of the car. You could also 3M Tape it to the back/side of your headlight housings as well. :)

    Hi i installed a Race Sport Amber/LED Light turn signal bulb for my 2015 grand Cherokee limited halogen light model. I used a race sport 25 watt resistor. I combined the resistor cable to the ground cable and turn signal cable I used a light tester and made sure of the connection was correct. The lights will turn on but when I turn on the vechile the instrument panels says both lights are out. So I moved the the driver and passenger side resistors connection from the turn signal to the park signal and only the driver side works great. The passenger side light will illuminate and flash however when I put the hazard lights on and turn signal I get the bulb light out warning. I know I used a different product but I also know mopar vechiles can be complicated. Any advices will be appreciated. Will a 50 watt resistor work? Thanks in advance

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 4 lety

      Those vehicles can be very complicated. To be honest, Since you're already this far, I would try a 50w 6 ohm resistor. If that doesn't work, Reach out to us and we will get you the correct parts for the vehicle. That may also include new turn signals that we have tested and found to work well on those Mopar vehicles.

    Hi guys I just finished doing this upgrade, the same three here; Low Beam, Turn Signal and Fog Lights. I did it different than you guys. I laid the front cover down and worked it right from the front. I was able to hide the ballast and stuff better that way. One thing I didn't do (yet) is install the turn signal resister on the passenger side. There wasn't enough wire length to hide it on metal where I wanted. Drivers side was ok, but I need to put the other one under the hood like you did.
    My turn signals outside blink ok. But the turn signal indicators on the dashboard are fast. Could this be because I am missing one resister on the passenger side?
    Love these lights

    • @patrickmcgee9910

      @@AaronD34 Yes, factory Halogen lights. The factory Low Beams and Fog lights are replaced along with adding a ballast units to each, all plug and play. The Turn Signal light is a bulb change and wiring in a small resistor unit to stop the fast flash on the instrument cluster.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 5 lety

      It is vehicle dependent. Could be due to having the incorrect ohm rated resistor, or could be from wiring the resistor up incorrectly.

      Hey Maria, thanks for commenting!
      You have projectors, projectors are designed to have light entering them from 360 degrees, LEDs only have light coming from two directions. So if you put an LED in a projector you wont get good light output and you will not have a beam pattern.

      We tried LED headlight bulbs on this vehicle, but the projector low beam made a bad beam pattern when paired with an LED bulb. Only HID bulbs created an actual improvement of light output and brightness.

    So you're putting HID bulbs into a halogen reflector? I have heard the light pattern is not well controlled in this case, and even intrusive to oncoming traffic. Also, why didn't you change out the high beam as well? I guess the ballast unit doesn't have to be mounted, you didn't say. I like the idea of that turn indicator bulb, but cutting, splicing, soldering... you make it look easy, but for the uninitiated, it's a little much, I think. Oh, and cost? Lots of unanswered questions.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 3 lety

      Its all good man, HIDs may not be for everyone! With that said, the HIDs in this video were installed on both the low beam and the high beam. The low beam on that vehicle is a projector, so nothing to worry about with blinding oncoming traffic, and you shouldnt have your high beam on with oncoming traffic so nothing to worry about there. If you are feeling uncomfortable with the wiring and installation of the HIDs, we do have LED or halogen options that will not require nearly the same process! Let us know if you have any other questions!

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 4 lety

      Is your DRL currently on your low beam? If so, yes it will work, but the DRL will be on at full brightness as HIDs cannot dim.

      Oh I see. In that case, this HID kit won't work for your application, you'll just need to upgrade the D3s HID bulb instead.

    The computer unit will unclip! Don’t have to remove the bolts the clip tab is o long the top edge of the back of the metal bracket and holds the metal bracket from sliding up and out. There’s 2 slides in the back and will come out easy when you get it high enough

    I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has the reflector housing, not the projector housing as shown here. I put LED 5000k bulbs (from VLED's www.vleds.com) in my low beams. They are just as bright as HID's in my opinion. My Jeep uses the Low Beams for the daytime running lights, they are on anytime the car is out of park and turn on and off with the turn signals. I tried having the DRL's turned off at the dealer, but they said there was no option to turn them off. Oh, well... they look good during the day too. I left my fog lights stock halogen.

    Installing bulbs in the grand Cherokee is a TOTAL PAIN. Without the hands of a 10 year old, you will never able to change the bulb out. The HID lights by HR are great quality, but this job is better left to a pro - spend the $ to have bulbs installed if they ever need replaced.

  • @richardr5888
    @richardr5888 Před 3 lety

    I hope whatever Jeep engineer(s) that designed the way to access those bulbs has moved on to another career because clearly, he's a moron and has no clue. I've changed bulbs many times trying different ones and each time I find new expletives to bestow on him. You will explore new ways to unnaturally bend your hand/wrist/forearm to get to the right side (and he wasn't kidding about skin loss) and then, you get the pleasure of removing the entire airbox to access the left. Why not just remove the headlight housing? Because to do that you would have to remove the entire front bumper fascia. Hmm.....that engineer got how much money to screw us?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 3 lety

      That is a bummer man, sorry to hear that it gives you that much trouble! I wish they were thinking a little more when they designed that, definitely not one of the fine points of the vehicle😂
