Nowadays you can use duolingo to learn simple Cantonese! I really agree with the idea of supporting Hokkien! I tried to learn a little bit Hokkien and it is hard to pronounce. Then I found that there were less materials to learn Hokkien than Cantonese.
Learning Mandarin in seven days is a lot to absorb, but you did well!

I've just been doing 30 min of dulingo a day and in the 1st week I already know 30 words in chinese. I just keep on grinding!!!!

Great job with your mandarin for only a week! I will look into using Canto to Mando in the future. I want to learn Mandarin too. I just been watching a lot of mandarin drama to get used to listening to it.
Great job on the Mandarin learning. I'm still working on it after all these years but have seem to hit a plateau.. It does seem like having a Cantonese background helps a bit, but it can still be challenging.
I would love to try canto to mandolin. Except I have to learn canto first XD.... and I only remember the VERY basics from childhood...
I love how the CM course is designed to teach from the basis that you already know Cantonese, and thus Mandarin will be a lot easier to learn than learning from scratch. I'm actually a native Mandarin speaker trying to learn Cantonese... Do you know of any similar resources for people learn in that direction?

Proud of your effort. How do you think that course would work for Mando speakers that want to learn Canto? I learned Mando to help me learn Canto (which it is helpful for a non-heritage learner), but now I'm stuck speaking Mandarin but not Cantonese...怎麼辦！
