I like your videos and the fact that you're always looking for this hidden gems and to share bits of less known history, I feel like I need to go back to Budapest now! And the drone shots are awesome, keep on :D
You said the revolt was in 1953. Actually it started on October 23, 1956. I was there as a 10 year-old in school when the PA System came on to announce what was happening and sent all the students home promptly in the middle of the day. My family and I escaped Hungary early November of that year into Austria and later emigrated to the USA.
Epreskert Art Garden
Abandoned RedStar Depot
Hike to the Citadel
Margit Island
Memento Park - outside of Budapest

Hungary works with different lights and colors...., even the birds' song sounds differently in these times. Blessings!

This video was very insightful! I felt like a friend was showing me around and telling me all the info I need to know. Also, you look incredibly confident vlogging in public, which I love! Great job, girl ♥
So glad you enjoyed the video! Your comment totally made my day.
I have lived in Budapest for the last 18 years, was the Frommer's guide author for it and I did not know about the abandoned train yard. Great video work! We do a number of home exchanges, so I will put this in my exchange folder for people who stay in our home to see. It will aid them in planning their trip. Sadly, the library closes in August, a high tourism month.
The train yard is actually the Istvántelek (Stephen's Plot) Main Workshop of MÁV, the Hungarian state railway company. Part of the facility is still actively used by MÁV, so entering it is trespassing. Also the hall shown in the video is crumbling apart, it's quite unsafe to visit.
@@revsnowfox5798 I appreciate the update.
Im so excited about your video!!!!!!! Respect your job, theese places are really unique!
David Avivani thank you! So glad you enjoy the video!
This is the best video about Budapest. So much info, nobody did it like you!
Loved the video, thanks :) I went to Budapest last month and didn't realise how much I missed! Gotta go back
super thrilled to visit the train depot and the library! Thanks for sharing the tips!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Gorgeous video :). Love all the unique spots you've covered. Had scratched off Memento Park from my itinerary, but after seeing it here, it's back on. Excited about the Abandoned RedStar Depot! Thanks a lot for this!
Jordan Reabold you’re so welcome! I hope you have a great visit!
Just awsome ! Thanks for sharing these amazing places ! I am looking forward to going back to Budapest !
Laure HENRIQUES Aw thanks so much! So glad you enjoyed it
May i say Gellert hill?
This seems to be such a charming place, I hope I can visit sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job!
Great video think i will definitely add these places to my list of places to visit 😀

Thank you so much!
This video is great! I'm going to Budapest next month and I'm tired of the same classic buildings everybody shows on their videos, I'm glad I found yours.
Excellent and refreshing concept for your video. And you are so lovely too. Just beautiful. Thanks.
Girl, you're crazy! 🤣❤
Amazing video!!!! 👍👍👍
Another great video beautiful !
Thanks so much!
Awesome, unique places worth visiting. I've been to Budapest many times and didn't know about half of them. Sure that says something about me but I've typically gone with my Hungarian parents who wouldn't dream of going to Memento Park or the Ruin bars. :) Although I have been to Mememto Park with a friend, I didn't know about the secret room under Stalin's boots. Thank you so much! You've given me great new ideas when I go with my husband next year.
Orno Vita so glad you enjoyed the video! And wow that’s a huge compliment :)
I have always been fascinated by Budapest. I had a penfriend when I was in high school , from there. TFS. It’s beautiful.
Absolutely love this take on Budapest! Thank you for sharing a different side of the city!
Excellent. Good information in a conversational style.
We didn't know about that library. We should check it out next time in Budapest.
Memento is very cool. We had a great time there.
Great video! Thanks
Thanks for sharing the tips
You’re welcome!
Thank you, I'm visiting in a month, I'll definitely check out the library and the ruin bars.
love it queen
Very unique video! Thanks for posting. - John
Great film. Thank you very much!
Thank you so much!
Nice video... gorgeous place!!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great Video!!!! Congrats!!! But i have a question. How did you get into the Red Star Train graveyard?
Your video is amazing. Congratulations
Thank you so much!
Excellent.
Hi, thank you so much for your sharing beautiful video.Good luck
Thanks so much!
Just found this amazing video, subsribed straight away. I have one question though, how did you get to the Red Star depot? I understand it is on private land, basically an abandoned part of an otherwise opertaional TMD. Did they have an open day or did you sneak in? (Not judging, cool stuff either way.)
Congratulations for your video, i loved, I have Hungary grandparents and i love this country, you are lovely and adorable too.
I can see my house beside Stalin's boots on the right
That’s so cool!
How fortunate are you. I would love to emigrate to Hungary. Are the people friendly and open, is it easy to make friends.
great job thanks
Thanks for nice video
merci merci 🥰
I saw those vapor locomotors in function and travelled on trains pulled by them as a small child in the seventies, eighties. Actually I had fear of them when approaching the station and searched for shelter in my Granddad 's neck and hug.😁🤭
That intro was beautiful
Thank you so much :)
I loved this video, very well made, and you are gorgeous!
David Seager aw thank you so much!
@@ChasingEverywhere Oh if you go back, try Puder Barszinhaz on Raday Utca.....it's my fave!
Hey Chasing Everywhere! Nice video. May i know which tripod you use for travel. It looks very compact.
Its the AmazonBasics 52-Inch Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod - www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-52-Inch-Carbon-Travel-Tripod/dp/B00DHPCSA0/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=travel+tripod+amazonbasics&qid=1572805210&sr=8-7
Not a critique but a suggestion: put the Google map locations on The description, sometimes these places are really hard to find! Awesome video by The way, cheers!
Cool
How do you get to the train station? Apparently it’s guarded and it’s hard to get in now
Awesome:)
Thanks!
Your welcome I'm try make my own CZcams channel I think it's hard sometimes make videos
Just visited Momento Park
Wow you went to places I wouldn't dare going near 😂 That train depot could have been a dangerous place. That coming from someone who was born and raised in BP :D
It is a refreshing video to see after all the typical touristy vlogs. I'm surprised you included Epreskert and the train depot.
Though let me add some corrections:
Nobody ever dragged statues with tanks to Memento Park. If you think about it, it would hurt both the statues and the roads. I have no idea what war you think of, the statues were installed by the communist authorities after WW2, but each and all communist-themed statues were removed when the regime change rolled around in 1989. The more important ones were installed in Memento Park. The only significant removal that involved force is that of the great Stalin statue's, which was torn down in the 1956 revolution, with the help of trucks and manpower, not by tanks.
As for the train depot, I have no idea why everyone keeps calling it Red Star Train Yard. It's actually the Istvántelek (Stephen's Plot) Main Workshop of MÁV, the Hungarian state railway company. The hall you shown was the steam engine repair hall, which was abandoned in the 1960s when MÁV took dieselization serious. The area around the hall is still MÁV's property, and part of it is still an active repair facility, so entering it is trespassing. The steam engine hall's roof is in a dangerous state, so it's no wonder it's a risk to one's life to enter it.
"As for the train depot, I have no idea why everyone keeps calling it Red Star Train Yard"
Urbex bloggers generally don't want to give away the names of the locations they are visiting, so they invent fantasy names like this. The biggest train inside the depot has a huge red star painted on the front.
whaa... I need to find that train depot :o
is Budapest reopen after lockdown ?
and where we stay like best Indian restaurants areas ?
You may missed the House of Terror museum and the Hospital in the rock nuclear bunker and hospital museum
Wow great video. I wanna know is everyone free to enter the library? Do we pay some tickets on our way in? Thanks!
Mirna Sunce The library is free to students and there is a small fee to enter as a tourist.
belles images, j'ai moi aussi descendu le Danube en bateau j'ai réalisé quelques vidéos sur ce voyage, elles sont sur you tube on peut y voir Budapest vue depuis le Danube je m'abonne Louis
IF YOU ENJOYED THIS VIDEO DON'T FORGET TO SUBSCRIBE! Thanks so much for watching guys! Sorry for the little delay. Let me know, which was your favorite spot!?
The abandoned train station.
My favorite spot was your beautiful face. Love, G'ma
Can I ask where are from?
I enjoyed the video... but was that lady walking backwards up the stairs at 13:57? .. :))
Haha busted! 😅 I reserved the clip so it would pan from right to left
How did you learn so much interesting stuff about Budapest? For instance the fact that liberary was a palace?
I spent 6 weeks living in Budapest and doing tons of research. Asking locals about hidden gems and the best things to do. I like to fully immerse myself in a city to really learn about it.
How did you find the train graveyard? It is an outlying place in Budapest... If you want to more you have to search Becne Kuhár, he is really good at this things...
I think you did not get the permission to film in the Epreskert Art Garden, so CZcams mute the sound track of that part.
Unfortunately, the copyright of the song I originally used for the video was changed and I no longer could use the song. It had nothing to do with Epreskert :)
@@ChasingEverywhere aha, I see, but nice video you made, good work :)
Who was that quote by
It's fine. (0:01-től)
What was the name of that Library?
hu.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/F%C5%91v%C3%A1rosi_Szab%C3%B3_Ervin_K%C3%B6nyvt%C3%A1r
Who did the drone footage and what are the laws in Hungary?
Nice video. I will have to check out the abandoned art garden and abandoned station when I go back to Budapest next month. Also the Philosopher Park. I didn't know that was there. Have you been to Lihovar in Prague? There's lots of abandoned buildings and derelict trains / vehicles there as well. Actually, I have a photo montage of the area here, czcams.com/video/a8EzW2IekVw/video.html. Oh, I love Margaret Island as well. Thinking about going round it on an e scooter this time. I think it connects with Obuda Island as well doesn't it?
Did u do all this in 1 day and how did u get around?
I filmed this video over about 3 days and walked quite a bit of it but used Uber anywhere that was further
i like your budapest video ,,,, which area best for 5-7 day stay for Indian people? like near restaurant,,, ane how can tour without tourists agent ? Budapest easy place ? come to india for your next video ,, i help you for video
Can I ask where are u from?
What is the ruin bar's name where you were? :)
Gergő Tóth szimplakert
You definitely have to visit Szlimpakert never saw any bar like it. Very cool. It used to be way cheaper years ago tho I remember paying for a gin tonic only 3 euro orsomething
I had an accommodation in the street of there
May i correct: Not Margate but Margaret island!
It is important to distinguish between the monumental sculpture made from 1800 by craftsmen and monumental sculpture made by slaves of the soviets. The quality and the intent are in opposition to each other. The Soviet era work is almost a parody of fine art and historical figuers
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
come to Ljubljana :)
Slovenia is definitely on my list! Any secret spots I should make sure to see?
Would relay love to know where the Red Star Depot train station is located??? Anybody know?
Me too.. directions would be helpful
Sound cuts out at 1:10?
Comes back at 1:30, by the way.

"Stalin's boots" is a replica.
where's the abandoned train station please? post location
Take the tram north towards Angyalföld vasútállomás. Get off at that stop and walk down Madridi road for 10 minutes until the road begins to curb to the left. You'll see the little dirt pathway continuing straight, thats where the walk through the plants starts. Continue another 10 minutes or so and you'll find the tracks. Good luck!
@@ChasingEverywhere is the way easy to go or is it like illegal to go to the train depot ? i'll like to go here !
@@76flavien The area is the property of MÁV, the Hungarian state railway company, and part of it is still used for repairing locomotives and other rolling stock. Also the entrance that many people write about online involves a hike along one of the main railways of Hungary which is relatively busy. The facility is guarded, although not heavily, but more than likely one won't be allowed in if guards catch them. The steam engine hall is also badly deteriorating, so it's not the safest place in the city.
Here's a detailed map: www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?ie=UTF8&hl=hu&t=h&msa=0&ll=47.54652400000002%2C19.101040000000012&spn=0.007242%2C0.012875&z=16&source=embed&mid=1TNdSg4mLKxQFqYDGLo7WyUuVjCI
The red area marked is the one in active use, but the marked path still makes you pass by multiple active buildings, so only go on the weekend. There'll still be people working there, but a lot fewer than on the weekdays. And if they catch you, they just kick you out, nothing more.
Nice video. Learned some things i had not seen before.
Terrible music. If you have to use it at least turn the volume down.
Why not gypsy music instead of overwhelming beat?
Kindly please make a India video and kindly visit at india ... i’ll around india and i help you and
Maybe she visits it in another video but she doesn’t go to the great synagogue
I went to the synagogue. And you’re right it’s absolutely beautiful. I don’t recall if I featured it in a different video.
@@ChasingEverywhere thanks. Do you have a video of the spas and pools of hungary
@@kazaabitboll2026 I only visited one of the baths while I was there and I went at night so it was hard to film. I'll have to go back and make a guide video on all of them!
Stalin came down in '56.
@Főfasírozó she was taking about when they took down the statue
do the people in Budapest speak English?
8:30 The chamber of the commie heads part is so brilliant.
DevotionsVisage so bizarre right?
@@ChasingEverywhere You made it funny. The head in the glass box, demon child, voldemort, the soul seeing lenin. I've been to Memento Park, but not this room, I have also seen the park from bus as I went to school each day, i can never see it in the same way after the commie head crew experience. you are really funny. thanks for showing the gems, not the same old széchényi bath footages and stuff as every other vlogger.
DevotionsVisage thank you! And you’re so welcome! It was so much fun finding the more unique experiences and made me fall in love with the city that much more.
your are so beautiful..
😊 thank you
1. It is HungAry not Hungry
2. You say Budapest with an S like when you say "shoot" not like when you say "sun"
Ez az, ne kíméld a spinét! :)
Those boot belong to Stalin.
I hope one day all Eastern European countries will completely demolish and remove any mark of Soviet communist inhumane art and architecture.
OnlyFans account ?
Stop waffling on about statues looking at you. 😅
Paris of the east is Bucharest not Budapest
Bucharest is Paris of the east, Budapest is the queen of Danube.
@@rozsagyorfi2805 agreed
Bad taste😢
Would be much better with more shots of the place and less of your face.
Seems like there is only one city in hungary , m so tired whoever making vlog on hungary just n just only making videos on budapest, yuck 🤢
