i'm sorry but saying wa da da is "uninteresting" then calling "i'm gonna be a star" entertaining is, at least for me, hard to understand. i know everyone has their own opinions, just like i have mine, and they obviously can't be 100% objective, but still. you can't deny the fact that some people exaggerate just to get views. not talking about winterosy here tho (even i'm a subscriber), but about other youtubers who also make those tier-rankings with kpop songs. i might be a little childish/sensitive, but some of the reasons don't make sense imo. i think christmas evel, zoom & even jikjin are all iconic tbh

I WILL fight anyone who says anything bad about Christmas Evil, Side Affects, Sticker, Glitch Mode, Dynamite, Good Boy Gone Bad, and Pass the Mic, they're literally some of my favourite songs from those groups, and I'm Army, Stay, NCTzen, MOA, and Engine so I have a lot to chose from. Also 13:19 when Sebastine said this I picked up my Noieasy album, which yes was next to me on my bed, and hugged it, Noieasy is a masterpiece no matter what yall say.
Out of all the songs in this list Christmas Evel was the most shocking to me😂

I’m not a huge fan of their English songs because I’m not a fan of bubblegum pop. Some people like it some don’t. Just because you have an opinion that some of their songs aren’t good in comparison to others doesn’t mean you are hating on them just because they are popular.

I love bts’s English songs, they are fun and i enjoy listening to them when I’m driving or doing the dishes. People just hate fun 😕. Also a few days ago there was a kpop tweet that blew up and it was basically saying that they want for fun/English songs, a lot of kpop fans were agreeing/saying they want more fun/English songs but I find that to be hypocritical cuz most English songs kpop idols put out get alot of hate and they get called westernized as if kpop didn’t come from jpop who took from the U.S….. kpop was always westernized.
kpop stans may hate it but all their english songs especially dynamite did not flop with the general public

I have also been saying that for a few years now, that KPop is originally from the "west". More KPoppers need to be aware of that. Everything in KPop/idol music, going back to its inception ~25 years ago, is primarily made from western music ideas. This includes the primary 12TET music scale, the music instruments (including electronics) & the music styles/genres. I would even add the television & music recording/engineering tech are from the west. As are the main clothing & fashion styles. Just as you said, some of it came from via Japan. And some came from Seo Taiji, who was a rock/metal musician from the 1980's, of which rock & roll is from the States. If South Korea wants to own their own K-Popular music, then make the idol industry at least 50% from traditional Korean music scales (e.g. pentatonic Kyemyonjo etc), Korean music instruments (e.g. Senap) & traditional Korean music genres (e.g. pansori). Min Yoongi is at least one individual who was able to help give music pride to Korea by showcasing pieces of traditional Korean music in his modern songs Daewitcha & Haegum. Of course BTS have also been showcasing pieces of Korean musical ideas in their past songs. However, the big irony of KPop is that it became mainly hiphop & pop because of Taiji & Boys. And yet Seo Taiji, the father of KPop, is again, first & foremost a metal musician. KPop should have become mainly metal & rock music because of Taiji, but it did not because Taiji & Boys was a hiphop concept (actually hiphop-rock, not hiphop) that became a huge impact. So it was a timing thing, which in this case, came at the right time, due to its Butterfly effect. Music influence also includes other modern music in SK that are also "western", such as ballads/trot, K-Hiphop, K-Jazz, K-Rock/Metal, etc. There's even K-Classical, which afaik is mainly Western Classical music (Bach-Beethoven-Mozart-etc), not Eastern Classical music. Now, western music itself is a culmination of music from different sources, such as Europe & Africa, though now it's considered "western" at this standpoint in reference to KPop. The only thing that's mainly authentic Korean music are the musicians that play traditional/ancient Korean music with authentic scales, styles & instruments, played for whatever reasons (historical, religious, ceremonial, tourism, etc). Let's not also forget that "Pop" is whatever is considered popular for the times. Today, it's what KPop & western Pop styles are at this moment. Yesterday, pop music was Mozart, Hadyn & Joplin. In the future, who knows what pop music will be like. In a thousand years from now, the music scales might have changed from what it is today. It could all be a different microtonal scale & polychromatic music for all we know. And KPop as an industry might have already disappeared by then. One other thing I would like KPop to evolve to & progress in would be musical instrument playing. That is one thing that KPop hadn't, or hasn't yet, adopted from Seo Taiji. Imagine KPop not only in the current niche of Sing+Dance, but tomorrow as Sing+Dance+Instruments. It would come back full circle to Taiji. Not playing instruments is one reason why not many more people in the west do not take KPop more seriously, not to mention that most KPop acts do not compose their own music. Dancing/acrobatic skills is one thing, but learning different music instruments at an advanced level is raising that bar. Of course, instruments can constrain the choreo, but balance will find a way. But it could take a few more KPop generations if it starts adopting that playing skillset from the father himself. If it does, it would be sort of like Jackson 5 version 2.0. Not all future KPop acts would need to do it though, just enough that it might make an impact.

I’m not a “kpop stan” and I don’t “hate fun”. I just find the english songs mediocre, and since they weren’t even made by them I hate when people think they are a good representation of their work. RM himself said that during the ‘Dynamite/Butter era’ he started to feel lost and wonder what they stood for as a group and what they were even doing. Because it was not authentic to them and that’s a problem.

Putting Sticker and Glitch Mode lower than PTD and Dynamite LOL. I'm glad the general public agrees these songs were very fun and provides energy during COVID season. And I'm glad it surpassed all other songs on this video with great charts number which shows that people are tuning in and loving these songs. Kpop stans just have bad taste and hate boner for BTS success that's all. I'm glad they released all their English songs, different variety from their normal discography. At the end of the day BTS stay winning and the most powerful boy group of all time.

I feel like a little context on mmmm by TREASURE is needed honestly. At the beginning I thought it was a rlly good song and then I started hearing people say that it was bad or controversial and stuff and didn't really get why. Later I understood tho and everything made sense. Basically the reason it became so controversial (from what I saw) was that it's a very sexual song and most of the members where underage. Essencially saying that there are a lot of perverts out there and that it wasn't ok to release such a song with their ages. The reason I didn't think much about it is bcs I am pretty close in age to the younguest members (I'm like not even a year and a half older than the younguest) so to me it wasn't that weird bcs I literally have friends their age but I completely see and understand ppls opinion and the reason why it is controversial in the first place. The song is good it was just not done at the right time/for the right group.

Honestly, the only thing I'll agree with 100% is that Kep1er makes "boring" songs. I keep listening to their tracks hoping to like the music but it's really monotonous and average. BUT the girls themselves, I adore them
