AHHH been missing you guys' comments!!! Will try to answer them all. And as always, I will ALWAYS post again. Just takes some time so remain subscribed if you want to see more
How cow Hes alive!!!! I love the updates!!
yeah!!!!!! hes back
Will do, I’ve been watching this series since Middle School and now I’m about to graduate high school.
Always happy to see an update from you.🖤🇨🇦
When there are no good ant videos coming out from anyone else, I go back to your old vivarium updates and pretend to be shocked 😂
Finally
greetings from Turkey
Greetings! Thank you for watching
I still can’t believe you successfully managed to create an independent small chunk of Mother Nature in a glass box in your house! It’s truly incredible what you managed to do. It’s literally the wilderness in a tank and the animals living in there have no idea they’re even in captivity. That is there home and I truly believe they think they’re in the wild and living life naturally without you interfering hardly ever.
Thank you for the nice comment!! And yes it is awesome I love it so much :D
@@nordicants6232 No problem man it truly is amazing!
But he designed the entire ecosystem…..
@@JanSobieskiIII Yes he designed it, but never really had to interfere again. That’s impressive!
HES BACK!!!!
:D welcome back!!
I am glad you are back after so long. I love how much care you put into your videos
Thank you so much for the nice words
Never have i ever thought of your return
Hope you will for the next one! :D
The next one gonna take a year💀
I knew he would, just not today 😅
This dude doesn’t even have to go outside. He brought outside indoors!
Hahaha that was he plan :D
HE RETURNSSSSS
THANKS FOR WATCHINGGGGGG
Been waiting for this update sooo long !! Well done !!
Sorry for the wait xD
That spider a 7:30 might be a diving bell spider which traps an air bubble using hairs on its abdomen so it can live underwater and build webs underwater as well. Although it is hard to identify and a few other spiders are known for entering water (or it could just be a spider that fell in)
Ohhh you are an OG subscriber man! Thanks for watching. Will see what spider it is but quite hard to ID ngl :D
@@nordicants6232 try searching fishing spiders looks a lot like images of them when they are underwater
You have probably accomplished something almost no one has done before. Yes, there are thousands of vivariums, but one thats this big, self sustaining, and diverse... I'll definitely gonna make one in the future, i know there is no way i can stop myself 😅
Cant wait for you to make it!!
@@nordicants6232 hey! I was just wondering if you could please make an updated, longer version of nuptial flight schedule. It was by far the most helpful thing for collecting queens, and i would be very happy if you made an another :)
Nordic Ants you are awesome!
I love this guys videos so much care are put into them( also first one babyyy)
Thank you!!
Man that was a hell of a Pond update. It looks so healthy i can't believe you aren't endlessly throwing food in there to keep those numbers up and it's happening all on it's own. Still after 5 years of watching you, this is still the only channel that has something like this. Unique one of a kind Vivarium anywhere else in the world.
Now my question to you nord bro is. In the Future would you ever go for a large tank? The bigger it is the most life it can sustain. So im looking forward to whatever genius ideas you come with next!
Nord bro will answer this superkind comment! In the future I plan to potentially go bigger ;D but I am for sure doing other biomes as well in the coming years
he lives!
*breathes*
This brings so much Joy and Nostalgia
this is bloody amazing.
Bloody nice you are here! :D
It has been a while this is going to be great!
Hope you like it :D
18 seconds ago??? Damn I’m early lol
Glad to see you back man
Very early!!! Well done
This is really goddamn impressive. I mean I don't think even Serpa Design has pulled off such a life-like habitat within a terrarium.
Wow thats a compliment!! Thank you so much for watching :D
@@nordicants6232 I'd love to see you build a habitat like this but with lizards like Chinese Water Dragons or Basilisks.
When the world needed him the most, he returned
Ahahahah hasta la vista baby!!
If you’re feeling bold you could add a large predator to the pond like a crayfish, but it might compete with your salamanders so I would understand if you chose not to do that and just keep it safe. The salamander larvae already make good predators for the waterways, but when they get older you might need something to maintain that balance.
That would kill lots of larger animals unfortunately! But great idea for future vivarium :D
I didn't think I would see this video in my lifetime this is amazing
Will always upload again! Never worry :D
@@nordicants6232 thank God 😁
been thinking about new hobbies bc i’ve been really bored and depressed recently, watching these videos gives me hope that i can find happiness in doing something silly and fun that i like
I would also recommend getting some aquatic snails for the water portion of the vivarium to help with algae control.
By adding the shrimp if you ever have another death in your pond like the scorpion the shrimp will eat it up and help clean the waters so nothing is just sitting dead down there.
I got shrimps!! Look at the end :D
@@nordicants6232 Yessir I know that’s why I was pointing it out.
This vivarium is very interesting: I am impressed how long it works without any added food.
Its absolutely incredible! Cant believe it…
Welcome back! I missed seeing your videos!
Thank you! and thanks for watching!!!
Ah, you've stopped by once again to grace us with this. Thanks for that, it's always a treat.
I am graced by your presence sir!!
I’m very glad you decided to add filter feeders to your aquatic section of the vivarium! You could even add some oysters or freshwater clams to help clean up the waters even more if you wanted.
Yes thats a cool idea! I hope they would make it though… maybe you are right
@@nordicants6232 It’s up to you man. Not even sure how they would fair in captivity, but your vivarium looks so natural I think they would make it. Overall very healthy echo system and by adding those aquatic plants you gave the shrimp places to hide so they’re definitely gonna thrive and not be eaten by salamanders. Shrimp are AMAZING in aquatic setups and I think they’ll do most of the work with keeping the aquatic part of the vivarium clean as well as the snails and other creatures ect. So you definitely don’t have to add any mollusks if you don’t want.
@@huntercool2232 Most people say they die very easily even is extremely healthy tanks.
@@nordicants6232 bivalves like clams and mussels usually need very high flow so they aren't very likely to survive. However daphnia would be a good filter feeding organism provided the other animals don't eat them all.
@@cryptocorynes1253 @HunterCool22 Thank you guys all for the info!! Will see what I do
The wait was great, but it was worth it
Hahahah thank you so much for the patience ;)
I found your channel LAST NIGHT and I was obsessed. Saw that you hadn’t uploaded in a year and figured I would sub just in case you ever upload again. 😂 and here we are
Well done sir ;)
Glad to see you back.
Thank you sir
I have never been more excited to see a new video
Awh thank you :D!!
Your method of creatig more and more complex foodwebs making these projects so vivid. I really like so much aspects and forms of life and their interactions in these conditions. Great work man!
So it seems you do have scorpions in there! Very cool. The spider was definitely just chilling, scorpions and spiders can survive 24+ hours underwater just fine.
Thats very cool, I had no idea! How come they survive in water so long? Especially the scorpions… is it an arthropod thing
@@nordicants6232 Not common in arthropods, but it has been noted in a couple. Scorpions, from what I've read, can survive a minimum of 48hrs, including desert species and whatnot. I have, however, seen species such as members of the genus Heterometrus (Asian Forest Scorpions) survive much longer, I've seen reports of surviving ~6 days of flooding during monsoon seasons in Asia. They're not great swimmers, but they can wait out any flooding! Spiders, otherwise, vary a lot. Some can survive short periods ~30m to avoid predators by creating a small air bubble around their modified lungs, while others can survive multiple days ~36hrs underwater. There's even a species that lives underwater (Argyroneta aquatica)!
The part where the newts eat from the ground is probably that they are eating worms in the ground
Ohhhh could be the case
The underwater spider may be a diving bell and those trap air around their body’s to breath
Ohhh yes I was thinking this but found nothing looking like it!! Might just be a dead one lol
it looks phenomenal, you' ve become our inspiration, support from Poland💪🇵🇱
Thank you so much!!! :D support from Sweden to you
It's so good to see you back!! I watched you when you were on break. And I was starving for more vivarium content
i hope i feed you guys with enough content!! good to see you :D
I went from watching the first update on this to the last and you went from having a German accent to a British accent. Your practice was well noticed
Hehe I cheated by starting to study in the uk ;) amazing u noticed!
Bro the p*nis mushroom/worm/slow worm sequence was such perfect serendipity I love it
so excited this dropped, been following the project since day 1
Amazing!! welcome back my friend ;)
I love Vivariums and Mini ecosystems
I love u guys!!
@@nordicants6232 thanks
I doubt you will read this comment, but if you do a perfect plant for this vivarium would be glechoma hederacea aka Creeping Charlie or Cats Foot. It stays between 2 to 4 inches on average but can reach a maximum height of ten inches tall. The interesting thing about it is that it has small purple flowers that would be a useful sugar source to many small insects in the vivarium, and it will bring the biodiversity up in the tank. If it gets roudy before the ecosystem can balance itself out again, just trim the runners 9ff and dispose of the separated stem, because if left in the soil it will readily root in less than a week when exposed to moisture or pressure. For a variety with more appealing foliage choose glechoma hederacea variegata, a cultivar with white marbled leaves. If introduced cautiously and properly, it would make the vivarium a whole new world in no time. Even though everywhere this plant gets mentioned, people are explaining how to eradicate it from their boring grass lawns but they neglect to mention it's use as a pothead and medicinal plant for centuries. It will make the vivarium better... BTW I subscribed so that I can see the fate of this magical glass box
I love ants🏴💪💕
We love you guys!! :D
Nice!!!

I'm so happy you're back!
Happy you are here :D
Hey dude it's Nacho! I'm glad to see you back! I absolutely love your channel and can never get enough of your videos. Good shit my dude! You sound different to how I remember and at times you sound very English! Have you been staying in England whilst you've been gone?

Thanks to you I finally discovered the species of my ants: Camponotus Lignipedrus!
Congratulations:D
Glad you are back been waiting for an actual year it’s fine tough
Will see if I can post more later ;D
7:31 It might be species called argyroneta aquatica, which is the only known spider that lives underwater, not too sure tho
It could also be raft spider since they sometimes dive in water
@@WikuuTheBlueDemon Oh yes I was thinking this! does not look like one though but possible it is some sort of raft spider actually :D thanks for the comment
That's some type of diving spider
I hope it is :D
Something like this with snakes would be so epic.
Consider adding Soromon Plecos to the aquatic section. They are quite small and hardy and would prosper here.
Ohhh will see if I can find some northern European ones, possible that it could be difficult!
I loved the footage of the glass lizard eating the worm. Really interesting and comedic.
Loved that clip too!! :D
Oh how we've missed you! I'm so very happy to hear your voice again! ☺️ There are always such interesting happenings in the vivarium!
Missed you guys too!!!
I am going to do this for invertebrates and amphibians in a nova scotia native vivarium. I may not be able to now, but I WILL. This is pure art. Van gogh ain't got smack.
Ahahahahhahah!! Make sure to post and let me know when you do. Would love to see it :D
FINALLY i have been awaiting this update
Thank you for watching :D
I'm excited to see where this thing is at today! I'm currently getting ready to build a terrarium that this inspired me to build in a 50 gallon aquarium. Funnily enough I live in the Great Lakes region of the US and I'm still making a European terrarium because most bugs like isopods and millipedes that you can find around here were introduced by European colonists.
15:18 I have something very similar growing on some wood in a very humid greenhouse, i'm pretty sure it's mycelium since it smells like it, it grows underwater sometimes and sometimes it's brown and sometimes orange, maybe look into it.
Will do! Thank you for sharing :DD
Me when I watch anime 10:47
Jokes aside good to have you back
LOL! thanks for coming back :D
Finally returned
Dundundun!
Im loving this so much!
Edit: Missed ya, thanks for the vid!
Thank you lots for the support
Hi! I saw the number of your subscribers and was shocked to see only 37K subscribers compared to the quality of your content! You certainly deserve more. I would give a small suggestion which maybe could higher your audience! A well-made, catchy thumbnail and title would certainly help in the process. For my standards, a catchy title for this would be 'I Made A Ecosystem 3 Years Ago, Here's What Happened...' or something like that that would catch a viewer's eye! I am in no place of lecturing with a long comment but just thought it'd be helpful :)
Nordic Ants is Santa Claus. He shows up once a year and brings a gift to make you happy 😁
Ho ho ho hahahaa thank you so much
Nice to see the vivarium again
Nice to see you guys again :D
@@nordicants6232 :D
THE LEGEND IS BACK!!!!!
Ahahhaha good to see you!! :D
Great video as usual but I suggest adding crabs more specific vampire crabs because they need both land and water and would be addition to the vivarium
I've been waiting so much for this video
Hope its worth it :D
The sequel we needed
I am Italian and a very common insect species is the Pyrrhocoris apterus, they are scavengers and eat seeds and carcasses, they live in small colonies between trunks or stones. They could give an extra pop of color (as if it were missing). However, as always, a beautiful vivarium that thrives in an absurd way and despite following you for a year and a half I am amazed.
Thank you so much for the suggestion and nice comment :D will see if I can find some ;)
You should add some black widows to your vivarium i love spiders and its nice to see the species you have are still thriving
Great video and setup, thanks!
Thank you ;)
Very cool as always :)
Thank you dinosoup ;D
Never thought he’d come back but heck these videos take time ❤love you man watched your vivarium video 3 times. And maybe for your next project a full on part of a river with be cool with Lots of waterbugs and fish and stuff
Thank you soso much for this comment! Lots of love and hope to see you for the next update :D

Thank you!
Thank you so much man!!! :D
Oh boy another NORDIC ANTS VIDEO!!! is it christmas?
good job man
Thanks man!
In my experience, red shrimps are pretty vulnerable in enviroments with other predators. Clear/grey shrimps do much better as they camouflage much easier
Amazing vivarium!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
The best vivarium content on CZcams, not seen an ecosystem as big or as diverse as this
Yessssss! Finally! Love you my guy, missed the beautiful ecosystem! Starting up my own aquatic ecosystem (had a goldfish in it for 4 months before I moved him out and replaced him with 3 eastern mud minnows)!
All things have to ends with beginnings as in this case, the fauna in the realm of the viv.
Yes you very correct! :D
I check your page like once every couple of months hoping to see another video out. I absolutely love your videos. I've been doing stuff like this since I was a kid. Just never close to the size tanks you have
