Man this brings me back. In ‘05 when hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans my family was displaced. We moved to a small town in north Louisiana. There were so many people that tried to give relief to victims any way they could. When Christmas rolled around a couple reached out to my family wanting to buy us gifts. Me being a kid with good tastes asked for Yugioh cards. They gave me MC1 and MC2.
Man...you must had your best day in your life ever.
This comment took me back to waiting in the laundry room and eating military bag foods. But Getting that Joeys tin from Walmart put a smile on face. The Good Days

Can’t believe this “box” was worth 1k. I remember buying this for about 20-30 bucks and being mad for spending that much money just to get 2 rares

Ikr, if I'd known then what I know now I would have bought dozens of those and left them sealed. I got two secrets and an ultra out of MC1, but MC2 I only got trash pulls.
i feel like magics pricing is better, where unless its litterly alpha so Thiers 100k black lotus, any early edition bundles are generally fairly priced i.e you have a decent chance of getting your money back and then some. where the yugioh products seem high risk not even that amazing reward money wise. though i know that's not the point of this stuff.
Such an insane yugioh product of all times. They should bring master collection back but with modern day packs and cool promos cards.
Except they aren't doing promos in the tcg anymore just like how they discontinued the special editions 2 years ago.

Anything that gives me secret/prismatic rare I'm all for, what yugioh really needs is a good series that has real cultural impact and I think it'll have to have something to do with gambling within the series and hard struggles and emotional conflics for the protagonist

Pyramid of light was 1 of the promos from the movie. It was blue eyes shining dragon, pyramid of light, sorcerer of dark magic, and Watapon
packs back then were different. Look how he pulls card that are connected of some kind from the same pack. Insane. + now it is nothing special having ultra rare card, but back then it was hard pulling high rarity and this is what makes it special

I remember getting my free Exclusive Packs at the cinema when I went to the movie in the cinema. The guy at the cinema gave me 8 packs because I was one of only 10 ppl who turned up to even see it. Getting all 3 Sphinx monsters but then finding out the pack does not contain Pyramid of Light or Blue Eyes Shining Dragon was a huge bummer. Luckily I did get 1 when the Movie Pack came out with the DVD release the following year.
Pyramid of Light wasn't in the pack, it was in the Pack you got with your movie ticket :3

I still use the folder to store my favorite cards in it. Plus I love shiny things. Absolutely and WoW Sams favorite two words. We all knew that anyways.

Many People don't know that the reprints from MC 1+2 and Forbidden-Legacy blister set are unique unlike the reprints from Legendary-Collection 1 Binder + Gameboard Edition. The difference is in the index number. MC1+2 and FL reprints have the modern EN- before the index number. The original 1st Edition and Unlimited and the recent Legendary Collection versions do not have the EN- before the index number. There is way to show the difference between the old school Original Unlimited Editions and the L.Collection. L.Collection reprints are thicker and lighter in color than the original old school versions.
Konami probably tried to replicate the Original Unlimited version in the Legendary Collection-1 by not adding the EN- before the index number. 🤷🏻♀️

Nothing like those master collection binders. Seeing it in person is even better, all the hieroglyphs and details are raised and it feels so magical maybe that’s nostalgia talking but idk 🤷♀️

They aren't being produced anymore is why, what ever is out there is all there is.

I bought the first and second master’s collection when they first came years ago. Still have all the cards from both and still have both books.

Pyramid Of Light wasn't in the Exclusive Pack (oddly), it was one of the 4 promos that you received when you bought a ticket for the film in a cinema or with the home release, which was DVD and VHS at the time :)
Wait so you got a single Promo card at the cinema? I got the Exclusive Pack when I went to it here, got 8 in fact because almost nobody went to it and they wanted to get rid of the packs. Thats Ireland for you, back then we always got it different from everyone else lol.

Pyramid of Light was NOT in the Exclusive Pack set. However, it was one of four cards you could receive either when you saw the movie in theaters or bought the DVD, the other three being Watapon, Sorcerer of Dark Magic, and Blue Eyes Shining Dragon.

I remember opening these packs in middle and high school. Thumbs up to the video. That was a great nostalgia trip. RiP your wallet though.

I remember when I was a kid I was at blockbuster I remember getting a yugioh pack opening it and it had exodia necross I was like I never seen this version of him on the show before. Two days later on Saturday they showed him on the show I was screaming I HAVE THAT CARD! Wish I knew better would've taken better care of my cards

I own master collection 2 as well as the binder lol, worth the money or not they are great collectors items to put on display.

It's not about making your money back on cards and packs.(real slim chance but u def could) It's a collector item anymore and rare when sealed. That what makes it worth a lot.
Pyramid of light only came as one of the cards if you bought the movie ticket as well as yugis new sorcerer card and blue-eyes shining dragon. Other wise the exclusive pack was always the same.

I opened my first Ultra in IOC, it was DMOC. I was super stoked and ran around the mall bragging my pull to passers by.
Later on it was stolen in my then LGS, and I had to buy another one from a dude at my LGS.

My kid's loved it when I judge the tourney's cause they gave us a choice of money or boxes and I would get 2 boxes per day depending on if I did both days or not then later on it went down to about a box but they weren't sealed. Kid's loved it when I got home and they with their friends be like can we open some of these and I'm like sure have at it but put aside those holo's lol. I miss a lot of those days honestly. Kid's grown up and 1 doesn't even have 1 care in the world for Yugioh and my younger son he still likes it but not in today's formats. You make me want to cry and excited about maybe picking up some packs again. I don't have the means to play again except for online but just having those cards I loved and my kids loved brings back so many fond memories you just can't even imagine how much a game can bond families and friends.

Exodia Necross was also easily the hardest monster to pull from a booster. Don't even want to think about how many I bought, before buying it mint, first edition from ebay for 20 bucks back then... What I gave it away for back in school, is something I want to think about even less.

Got this when i was a kid. I was the happiest kid on earth that my mom buyed me this. I can remember it to this day and still have the binder. For me the prettiest yugioh product ever. We need things like this and not that new garbage.
