  • Continuing our 25th Anniversary series of stories, we're joined by Maree Treadwell Kerr and Sera Steves from the Bats and Trees Society of Cairns (BATSOC). Long-time friends of Rainforest Rescue, BATSOC shared their perspectives on the importance of bats to the Wet Tropics Rainforest.
In this heart-warming conversation, captured at ‪@CouncilCairns‬ Ecofiesta 2024, hear how Maree and Sarah first became bat fans, how Branden fell in love with bats and why flying foxes are inspiring cocktails!
As Rainforest Rescue's 25th Anniversary year continues, we're reminded of how many rewarding connections with like-minded organisations we have. There is a common goal of caring for wildlife and the environment, coupled with a desire to deepen our understanding of the relationships between animals, plants and the habitats they live in.
Sunday 9th June 2024 is not only the evening of the Cairns Bat Festival (www.eventbrite.com.au/e/cairn...) but also brings to a close the Australasian Bat Nights for the year. This is the perfect time to get acquainted with the fabulous world of flying foxes!
