The folks over at Evoluition tools have sent out another great tool for us to test out. This time its a Mag Drill. These things are great when you need the precision of a drill press but in a portable form that can be used at any angle.

NICE! I've eyed mag drills for years but can't justify the cost for my uses. Although you got it free I would say you've earned it.

For cutting fluid FYI I worked as a fitter in the oilfield for several years building platforms and equipment, we always used a few tablespoons of Dawn dishwashing liquid in a 20 oz. water bottle with a pinhole in the top while using mag drills and annular cutters. Worked fine for me, and it cleans up much easier than oil, plus it smells nice. Worth a try anyway, and about the cheapest "cutting fluid" probably ever. (I always sprayed very liberally unlike with oil where you just use a few drops)

You have a way of getting people to take a chance on themselves. You are a great teacher.

Mag drills are fantastic. When I started construction 40 years ago everything was done with hand drills. Now I have 2 Milwaukee battery powered Mag drills on the job site and my crew gets way more work done in a day. I also have the Evolution Saw they are Fantastic. The Annular cutters are what we use all the time they really cut and last a surprising long time.

I bought the Evolution s380cps chopsaw after watching yours and a few others videos on the Evolution saw and I love using it. I'm now in the middle of fabricating my own welding table / work station and definitely want this drill to make fixture hole's on my 1/2 thick steel top. Told my wife what I want the whole family to buy me for Christmas, this Drill !

Very nice drill. You will probably get a lot of use for it. Nice of Evolution tools to send it to you. I think you did a very good demo of the tool.

Good review! I'm happy to say that this is the first tool you've shown/built that I don't immediately lust after; just not something I need right now.

Awesome. I just ordered mine yesterday for a welding/fab job that requires big holes thru thick steel. I’m stoked.

Evolution has very attractive toys. Love it. Drill big holes in the table and let the chips fall through. You got a mag drill

You can get mt adapters for the annular cutter so you can put them in a drill press/pillar drill if you wanted to use the cutters in that way if your drill has mt sockets

Evolution seems to make some pretty nice tools. Great video John as usual you explain things well .l have used the Milwaukee portomag before and this one seems to have a little more finesse.
