I rejoined Dota last year after a 4 year break. And I remember (in my first few games) right clicking outpost frantically at low HP, being confused and thinking "why the f**k this shrine isn't working !?"
TBH, they look pretty different from each other, but I can understand the confusion

Nah for me was simple, i droped dota before even shrines were in, when i heard people missing shrines i was like, wtf you on about, THERE ARE 5 COURIERS!

This is just perfect! I started playing dota 2 again after 3 years and I freaking love the game. I can play 8-10 games a day in my time of without getting bummed out like before. Idc if we are losing players. 400k+ is more than me waiting for a 10/10 lobby to be full at LAN in a low cost internet cafe back in Dota 1. Goodtimes. Thank you for this BSJ!

Thank you BSJ, i have been playing dota 2 since launch and quit 4 years ago. I have been wanting to play again but the changes seemed overwhelming, but this video made me motivated again
this is exactly what I needed, started playing again this week after a 4 year hiatus, and i swear it almost felt like a completely different game with all the changes that have happened.
I NEVER knew about the blue circle underneath heroes showing Aghs, wtf. Thanks BSJ. Also a great quick overview of new lategame items that I often don't think about buying, to my own detriment.

Been playing Dota since it was just a mod on wc3 then Dota 2 since beta and when i quit around late 2018 the game changed a lot. Came back 3 weeks ago and i could have used this kind of guide to catch up. Good work.
This is good. Even for those of us who play regularly but not intensely this helps keep us on track. I was out of date on a few things even though I haven't had a dota break of over a week in like 5 years. I just don't follow the pro scene at all.
Maybe do this sort of thing every year or two.

Yep... I came back to dota after 6 years. Last played around TI 5.... I was 3.7k mmr main and now recalibrated to 1.2k just last month
I came back to dota a while ago, six months or so. Quit paying it around the same time Dendi got famous for the fountain hook, always played carry snd antimage was good back then. Lost my teams many games in a row until I got the hang of things. The only skills I believe I kept were last hitting, map/ lane awareness and role knowledge, as those seem pretty much the same. This ofc confused my teammates as I would last hit well, not die like a dumb person but ignore neutral items, outpost, have a lot of tangos as if I had 1 courier, etc.
Demoted myself so hard that now I need to escape the trench, which I'm doing slow steady. I believe the biggest difference from before is that I don't get mad at ppl for losing, I just analyze my mistakes and theirs and try to fix mine next time I play. Also feel like I'm having more fun thx to that.

BSJ i think on the upgraded eul's. Windbreaker you forgot to show that when you use it on yourself now you can move thats honestly the broken part about it. Especially that you can eul's up walls/high grounds/down to the low ground. it makes escaping significantly easier.

Ive been playing dota on and off since dota1, once i login they change sidestore location, once i login they add shrine, and again once i login they move roshan pit, once i login theres new jungle item drop and all its effect, not to mention the many new heroes and nerfed or buffed heroes, i like it so anytime i login a new after a while it make me an eternal newbie

I just started playing. Played DOTA 1 over ten years ago! Quit because our first baby was born. And if you play with you hubby Dota is not a good gaming option with a baby. But now both kids are grown up enough for us to enjoy a daily game.

BSJ you should probably mention to returning players that smurfs/account boosters/account buyers/script hackers are way more frequent than they used to be now. So MMR will be much more lottery-based than it was 3 years ago. Especially for players in the lower and middle trenches, as the smurfs/boosters are ranking up 'new accounts.' This is something that Valve vigorously ignores.

Yo BSJ, can u do updated offlaner tier list please. I need it so badley. I am usually between 4.2 and 4.5k mmr, but now I dropped all the way to 3.5k cause i was not playing in a whille and played variaty of hereos for fun. Now I need hereos to spam and abuse to grind my mmr back. Pls help !

I have one issue and maybe someone here can help me since using google wasn't helpful:
All my talent, item and skill descriptions are VERY outdated like from years ago... All the item descriptions/tool tips are old, i'm shown the wrong talents (for example still seeing old talents that have been changed or replaced) and so on and thats really annoying. I tried to reinstall the game but nothing has changed
wait what? so you see old talents? Can you choose those talents and have those effects or you get the current talents?

It’s probably because you have a specific guide selected, from that meta maybe, try setting it to some newer ones

@@LetsArion oh yeah man def something with the game then. Instead of reinstalling you should try verifying the integrity of game files. It’s in your library > Dota 2> properties and you’ll see it. That fixed all my problems in dota and cs go too for that matter. Gl man

I quit for 4-5 years and yeah a lots changed, I actually like a lot of new changes, at the time i quit I was getting pissed about how many changes they were making, theyre more smoothed out and positive now I think. But I used to be 3-3.5k mmr and now im like guardian 3 lol, major increase in skill
I used to be Divine1, now I'm back and playing at legend1. Sad days, ppl are better now but on legend I still feel like ppl I'm playing with are way lower skill than what I was used to play with
