  • The importance of verifying your test results, with calculated values.
Used for initial verification, periodic testing (EICR) and fault finding.
Also when undertaking your AM2 - AM2S - AM2E good understanding of expected test results is very important

Thank you for your videos, I am very much enjoying them, especially having both the theory and the practical "real-world" points you raise during your explanations. Excellent graphics BTW. Have you covered selectivity (discrimination) and cascading for distribution circuits and choosing protective devices that I have missed or, if not, have you any plans to do one?

Thanks for watching Olly, pleased you find the videos useful. I haven't really done anything on discrimination and choosing protective devices, but its something I would like to get round to.

0.05 comes from the old style analog testers which could only achieve minimum values in increments of 0.05

Please apart from this MFT instrument, which other instrument can be use to determine the resistance value of a cable for for a distance of 1m

Please i wanna ask a question outside of this video. According to the "On site guide" under cables ans their resistance. It states that 2.5mm² cable has a resistance of 7.41mOhms per metre. So i cut exactly 1m cable and use digital multimeter to measure the resistance and i had 0.00 ohm, but i had 0.50ohms when i used the clamp meter...
Please why didn't i get the 7.41mOhms as stated... Or what's the right instrument to use.
    Thanks

Hi Jason, I don't, but will try to get some PDFs up for download, when I figure out how to do that.
