    I like the look of the stock pipes too. I bought British Customs DeCat Header, ditched the Cat, now 2 separate, open pipes all the way. They can be driven quietly but when you open the throttle wide they are strait through. Keep the stock cans, ditch the Cat, and add the booster plug=hot ticket.

    • @midi510
      @midi510 Před 2 lety

      I just got the Free Spirits H-pipe to replace the CAT. From my research, it seems like you get better cylinder scavenging when the pipes are connected. Sounds really good, but, like you said, if I keep it mellow, it's still quiet. Next week, I'm getting an engine remap. Really looking forward to that.

    Great video! I have a street scrambler myself and i've been looking at those Denali D4''s led lights for awhile now, would be great if one day you could make a quick video about how you installed them on your scrambler because it seems a little bit laborious!
    Your scrambler looks awesome :)

    • @michaelsantino2023
      @michaelsantino2023  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks so much for the feedback! Those Denali lights are awesome. They are so bright and light up the entire road. Even good for a type of daytime running light if you want to be even more seen. Install wasn’t bad at all. I tapped into a fuse that is only active when the ignition is on. If you’re in the NY area I would do it for you.

    • @michaelsantino2023
      @michaelsantino2023  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks so much! Appreciate the feedback. Here’s my opinion on what factors you should consider while making your decision. Your height, the type of riding you do, and cost.
      I’m 5’7” so the Street Scrambler fits me better. I can get both feet just about 75% planted. A slight lean in either direction and I’m planted. The stand over is about 30 to 31 inches so very friendly to shorter riders like me. The 1200’s are much higher and I believe stand over is probably 4 inches higher. So if you’re at least 5’10”, you’d probably be good.
      Most of my riding is not off road and is for pleasure rides and commuting. I have done some dirt roads and grass. The 1200’s are definitely raised up for more extreme riding and they look the part. Higher mud guards, more defined bash plate, more off road tires…etc. Price for XC is about 4K more. Very happy with the Street Scrambler. It rides beautiful, plenty of power, it’s light nimble and the transmission and shifting is the smoothest I’ve ever had. This is my 5th bike and it should be a keeper. Maybe 😃 Having said all of that, it’s definitely more practical for me. However, I have to be honest, If I was taller, I would have probably gotten the 1200, not for more power or off-road, but for the upgraded parts, speedometer and look. Might have even spent the premium on the Bond Edition lol. The new Street Scrambler Sandstorm edition is really cool. Check that out. Also, let me know if any of this helped you in your decision. Very curious. Good luck and safe riding!

      Bikes are still designed in UK. Currently there are five factories. Two of these factories are in Hinckley, UK a couple of minutes away from the Mallory Park race track. The other three are in Brazil, Thailand, and Chonburi. The bikes clearly trace their roots back to Britain since 1902, thus the Union Jack.

      My seat is super comfortable. The company I ordered it from, allows you to put additional gel inserts into it. I opted for that on the front half. I like the design on my seat better than the one you sent me. It has a little more dimension to it. It did come with a leather conditioner too, but when I put it on, it made the seat very slippery. That would be my only complaint. Don’t over apply the conditioner. You probably don’t even need it. Lol 😂
