- Colin Armstrong MM, usually known by the pseudonym and pen-name of Chris Ryan, is an author, television presenter, security consultant and former Special Air Service sergeant who came to public prominence for being the only member of the ill-fated SAS mission Bravo Two Zero to both survive and escape capture during the Gulf War. Ryan published his own account of his experiences during the mission entitled The One That Got Away in 1995.
Since retiring from the British Army Ryan has published several fiction and non-fiction books, including Strike Back, which was subsequently adapted into a television series for Sky 1 and co-created the ITV action series Ultimate Force.

I know right? A man who has broke the record for surviving and travelling the longest distance without food or water getting hit on? Very disrespectful..
Colin travelled that long distance to save his own arse. There are many far braver solider who did selfless acts instead of just running away. This is nothing more than a porn show. Colin will go to any length for fame. Vince Philips father died a broken man and his brother had a nervous breakdown. All due to the comments Colin made about him in his book, which none of the other team members accounts support. Colin should be stripped of his MM for what he said about a dead man who could not speak back.
In the description it reads Colin is Chris Ryan's real name. Andy never criticized Vince Philips in the same way as Colin’s; he just stated Vince was the one seen. Also if you read the account of solider 5, or watch the video of the Real Bravo 2 zero or the book from 22 SAS RSM ( in the eye of the storm), you will see the account Colin gives is far from the truth. As in any line of work we have people we don’t like or get on with, but doesn’t mean to say we are right. In the case of Colin he gave a scathing terrible picture of an incompetent solider who should have retired and got himself killed.
Even if true, he should have kept it on the battlefield. I was in the army not the SAS, but what happens you keep with you, your don’t shit of the families or their memories of their love ones not matter how much you thought the person was a dinger. Dreadful what Colin did and even more so since, he was a supposedly secret unit. He should be stripped of his medal he has not right to it.
He did not get spotted, also Mcnab is responsible for the failed mission as they went out on foot even when the RSM told them to take a landrover. SAS are soilders and you NEVER dispect the family of the dead. What Colin said is false, google it, is easy to find the real facts. Don-t use the book as your basis for facts, its mostly bullshit
You weren't there. You don't know what happened. None of us do. Maybe Chris is right and Vince did lose heart and the others are the ones lying to protect Vince's honour. I think that's very possible. Or maybe Chris defamed Vince because of personal differences. That's possible also. Or maybe its something in the middle.
