Hiking The Ireland Way with The Hiking Rev, Stage 5 - Multeen Way, Tipperary to Milestone

- After a much-needed rest in Tipperary, I started the Fifth Stage of the Ireland Way, the Multeen Way. The first part of the trail included a lot of road walking, then alternated between fields and lanes. In the fields, I had to be very careful not to lose my shoes and socks as I sank up to my ankles in the bog. The fields were also teaming with "curious" cattle that were wondering what I was doing invading their home.
After going through a "wind farm," I passed through the villages Donohill and Cappawhite on my way to Milestone.

So many shades of green. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Blessings
Hey Vicki. Ireland is a very beautiful country. The reason for all the shades of green is all the rain that they have.😁
I’ve been following this series, what an absolutely breathtaking hike. Thank you for sharing.
You’re welcome Mike. Thanks for following along. 😁
Beautiful video; superb cinematography and perfect music. Keep on keepin' on! Blessings!
Thanks Ruth. I am so glad you enjoy it.😁
you simply love hiking and I can feel it
Thanks. I love the challenges it presents. 😁
Always enjoyable, Rev. Thanks. :>)
You’re welcome Peter. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😁
Beautiful photography. I can only imagine what it looks like in person. Someday!
Thanks Mary. Ireland is a very beautiful country. 😁
9:10 I really do appreciate that you did that crawl 3 times Rev!
😂😂😂Ha! You noticed! 😁
Seeing the wind machines looked like 👍 P. S.! 😇
That’s the truth Clyde. 😁
Thank you Rev for sharing another beautiful video of your adventure on the trail. It's a lovely country. I'm so glad you're sharing this with us.
You’re welcome Teresa.😁
Rev your very storng man and wish a lot of strengeth to hike ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you very much Adam.😁
That is so awesome. 25 miles is extraordinary for a young person let alone someone our age and with what you've been through. So great. To God be all glory! Such peaceful pastoral scenery, I'm enjoying every bit of it. Thank you for taking us along.
You’re welcome Shirley. Thank you for coming along with me.😁
Agree! 25 miles is massive. Impressive mileage, Rev!
Oh the BOG! 😅 We slogged through a lot of that on the C2C, as well. But the scenery and people you meet along the way are well worth it. I'm so enjoying your Ireland Way videos! Happy hiking.
Thanks Molly. Yes, it is so well worth it. 😁
I’m just watching your beautiful filming but you are really getting to DO it. What a blessing.
Yes it is.😁
So enjoying your Ireland Way series - thank you!
The "she's" who weren't happy with you just before the 12 minute mark were "he's"!! (; A field full of bullocks - pretty intimidating!
You mean they were bulls? 😳
@@TheHikingRev Yup! Young bulls (mostly bound for the dinner table) - no udders and the tell-tale "tuft" half way along the belly.
OOOOK! That’s nice to know…now! 😳
beautiful country and a beautiful people❤
Hey Adam. Both are true.😁
Thank you so much for sharing this series, I have been attempting to plan a run along The Ireland Way this coming summer, and these videos are some of the most cohesive examples of the terrain and what to expect throughout the journey. Beautiful work!
Thanks Chris. I’ll be back in June, starting from Milestone. 😁
Good afternoon, Rev. Great to see you. Wow 25 miles. That's pretty good for any hiker. You hike pretty fast. Maybe you're like I used to be. I was always a fast walker. Of course now, I have 2 speeds - slow and slower. But I'm still able to get around a little bit and I'm grateful for that. Beautiful countryside. Hike on. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks Judith. I can only do what I can do now. I realize that one day I may not be able to do it.😁
Absolutely gorgeous work, these shots are great my friend! What a unique and simply stunning adventure 👏👏
Thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it.😁
Those wind farms are so unsightly, takes away from the beautiful scenery. And there doesn’t seem to be much wind there.
They do cool things down a bit. 😂
Hi Rev, We're following your progress on our map of Ireland and enjoying your videos. You see so much more walking than you do from a car. Thank you for sharing with us. Slainte! ☘
Wow. That’s neat! Thanks. Sláinte agatsa
Love the landscape views.
👍😁
Another great video as always, cant wait to see whats next
Thanks Derek. 😁
Great vid. From zero to hero!
Thank you Mark.😁
Superb filming and music. Very enjoyable to watch. Wishing you wellness and joy, Rev.
Thanks. I am glad you enjoy the videos.😁
Thanks Rev for taking us along. Such beautiful countryside. Enjoy the Irish music.
Thanks Gary. I’m glad you’re able to come along. 😁
As a person of similar age, I'm very interested to see how a difficult hike affected you. Trying to walk in some of those wet fields looked pretty tough. I can see why you take rest days, which is what I would do and probably have more of them. Thanks so much for your enlightening moments as a senior.
Hey Doug. Thanks. I start off slow then I have to build up to it. Also, I do take rest days. 😁
I think she is not happy because she is a he:) Beautiful footage as always.
Hey George. That’s what I found out. I’ve got to be more careful. 😳
awesome rev be blessed
Thanks Robert.😁
WELL-walked - WELL-rested - the dynamic balancing of living an extraordinary life!!! While farming all the way! And sharing the wet fields with those asking you to mooooooooooooove on!
😂 So true. 😁
Rev, you have certainly leveled up your artistry for this series. Just beautiful footage. I’m also loving the drone shots. Wondering how you fit all that in your pack? Thank you for sharing your journey.
Hey Debra. Thank you very much. I just carry my drone, controller and a battery. It works out great. 😁
Ireland is beautiful, lush and green. You have a strong, fast pace. My wife and I loved our short visit, the kindness of the folks, their rich and savory food and the music. I hope you’ll take a good bit of time and enjoy. God be with you. From northern Kentucky
Thank you Jeff. You’re very fortunate to have been able to visit Ireland and enjoy all of its amenities.😁
That “beware of bull” sign would have made me nervous 😮. The temps must be pretty warm there as you’re almost always in short sleeves (except when it’s raining). Nice their climate is wet and no worries about drought or fires. I can’t imagine slogging thru the bogs. Your footwear must get really muddy. Lots of trail in open pastures (private) property- seems strange. Not a lot of trees/ I guess you have to find bushes to get privacy when “nature calls”. Wonder video. Glad you are in good health and impressed with your mileage (not easy when you’re also filming).
Hey Rebecca. Yes, the “beware of bull”sign made me very nervous.😁
Wonderful scenery and filming. So grateful you are taking us along!! May you continue to have safe hiking and restful nights. 🙌🙏🙌
Thanks Linda. I’m glad you’re able to come along. 😁
Hey Thanks again brother. My hat is off to you for as many times you have to run back and get the camera gear just keep on humping
You’re welcome Bill. As long as you keep enjoying my videos, I’ll keep making them.😁
Nothing quite like a good long walk in a bog, eh!? 😉
Thanks Reba. 😳😂😁
Great video - feels like I'm hiking along there with you 🤗 Really appreciate your attention to detail and your editing is superb!
Thank you. I’m so glad you enjoy the videos.😁
I trust they route the Way around fields containing bulls🙄
Not always.🐮
Great video Rev! Love the Drone shots as well! 25 miles??? WOW! You go young'n !!! When you stated you took a "Zero" I know that means no travel day, does that somehow count against you for how long it took to do the entire thru hike? I know it's not the destination, it's the journey and I'm loving your journey through the Ireland way! so Awesome! Thanks for sharing with us!
You’re quite welcome Stephen. A zero day is when you hike zero miles on that particular day. Sometimes your body just needs to rest up a bit.😁
Hi, Rev! Great hike! Enjoying these shows very much. Just wondering how you are getting the drone shots. Those really add to your adventure. Take care!
Hey. Thanks. I brought my DJI Mavic Mini drone with me. 😁
Cool!@@TheHikingRev
As I mentioned to you before, I just walked 30km. My wife posted a pic of me doing it on facebook. People asked "Why?" My answer: “Why Not?, it is a dream of mine.
A lot of people have dreams and never pursue them.”
-
Why? Because I can.
I want to show my family that if you put your mind to something, dreams can be accomplished.
So I'm doing to ask you the same question. Why do you hike?
Because I can. I realize that one day I won’t be able to do what I’m doing. So I’m going to do what I can do, now, while I can do it.
I have a video where I answered that same question. Here is the link. czcams.com/video/t93uywsRozQ/video.htmlsi=H3_Rot1k7sMkPACW
Psalm 118:24!
“This is the day…”👍😁
Do you carry a drone with you? Those are some amazing overhead shots.
Yes. I did carry a drone with me on my Ireland Way hike.😁
Is there wildlife over there? There doesn’t seem to be much so far…
Well, from what I understand St. Patrick took care of all the snakes. 😂 The only wildlife that I’ve seen so far have been rabbits.😁
Did you ever lose the trail? It seems like parts of that are not well marked.
To answer your question…many times. The Ireland Way is not a very well marked trail.😁
nature is the same as in Russia
I’d love to go and hike there one day.😁
