Hiking The Ireland Way with The Hiking Rev, Stage 3 - NW Cork Way, Millstreet to St. John’s Bridge

  • This stage of the Ireland Way would be one of the shortest ones at 40.2 km or 25 miles. Leaving the Knockdrish B&B in Millstreet, where I stayed for the night, I crossed over the River Blackwater heading for the village of Dernagree.
I met a young man and his two children on my way to Newmarket who invited me to camp for the night in their field. After feeding me lunch and dinner and enjoying the equestrian skills of his daughter, I retired for the night. The next morning I headed for Lismire and eventually St. John's Bridge, concluding the third stage of my Ireland Way Thruhike.

I am from Appalachia in WV. The hospitality you are receiving is typical of rural Appalachia. You are hungry? We feed you. Need a place to stay? We provide one. It makes sense when you remember most of us are of Scotch and Irish descent.

Another outstanding video; All the crew watching should nominate your content & channel for an academy award of some type! Maybe not an academy award but there's has to be some awards for this... Oh yeah [Mat 25:21 NKJV] 21 "His lord said to him, 'Well [done], good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

Hey Daniel. It is not your typical trail. There is not a “ribbon of dirt.” A lot of the trail is on country roads and lanes. I use the Hiiker app on my phone.
