  • To celebrate the first day of Summer, I got the oscillating, and box fans ready to go for the season.
I like to disassemble, clean, and oil the motors, in hopes of getting many more years of trouble free service. This level of quality will likely never be produced again, so it's a great idea to preserve what I have.
I use compressed air to remove the bulk of the accumulated dust, followed by degreaser, then oil the motor, reassemble, and lastly, test. I will do a test run video of these fans, in the next video, so stay tubed for that!
2, 16 inch Lasko oscillating fans from 1999 found at a flea market.
1 Lakewood C122X box fan from 1983 found at a thrift store.
1 K Mart K223, by Lakewood, from 1974 found at my old church.
1 Lasko 3733 from 1995-95 Found in an abandoned gas station.
Thanks for stopping by to watch, please like, subscribe, and ring the bell!

All cleaned up beautifully and operating as they should. You cannot beat these vintage fans. So much quieter and smoother than the new counterparts. I recently acquired a nice vintage box fan I have yet to make a video of. It's so quiet and smooth running.

Nice cleaning. I have a few fans I need to clean also as I can see dust accumulating on the fan blades. I did clean and oil a vintage Kmart box fan I found at goodwill 2 years ago. Had to disassemble the motor, clean and oil it. Also had to bend the frame back to shape the best I could. Runs better now but I need to get some deoxit in the switch because it's scratchy sounding.

Thanks! Awesome you found a K Mart box fan, and got it all fixed up. Yeah, wouldn’t hurt to try some Deoxit on the switch.
