Fibromyalgia (FM) is a medical condition characterised by chronic widespread pain and a heightened pain response to pressure.Other symptoms include tiredness to a degree that normal activities are affected, sleep problems and troubles with memory. Some people also report restless legs syndrome, bowel or bladder problems, numbness and tingling and sensitivity to noise, lights or temperature.Fibromyalgia is frequently associated with depression, anxiety and posttraumatic stress disorder.Other types of chronic pain are also frequently present.
The cause of fibromyalgia is unknown; however, it is believed to involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors, with each playing a substantial role. The condition runs in families and many genes are believed to be involved.Environmental factors may include psychological stress, trauma and certain infections. The pain appears to result from processes in the central nervous system and the condition is referred to as a "central sensitization syndrome".Fibromyalgia is recognized as a disorder by the US National Institutes of Health and the American College of Rheumatology. There is no specific diagnostic test. Diagnosis involves first ruling out other potential causes and verifying that a set number of symptoms are present.

Towards the end of the day my body stiffens up and it hurts a ton to get out of bed or up off a chair. My dear husband gets me what I need like a drink. I’m a fairly active person and try to keep my body strong. My fibro was triggered by stress at work by a particular boss. I almost sued but the moved me to another division. I take Cymbalta to help with the fried feeling if my nerves and the worst was feeling like I was being shocked about every half an hour. That’s when I finally went to the doctor and kept being persistent to figure out what this was. The Internet forums helped a ton. My doctor was my much help at first. And the brain fog was terrible I felt so stupid. I didn’t know what was happening for so long.

I was formally diagnosed with Fibromyalgia today after unknowingly living with all of the aspects described in this video for over 10 years. I didn't realise it was 10 years until my Doctor starting going through my medical history, right up to my having an endoscopy last year for constant gastric problems.
I thought Fibromyalgia was all mumbo jumbo untik I started reading about it and everything made sense...the pain, sensitivity to light, IBS, joint stiffness, moods, insomnia...

in my experience the depression is part of the symptoms. i can have flare ups of mostly pain and fatigue and mild brain fog. but i can also have flare ups with mostly brain fog, fatigue, depression and anxiety. i'm normally not at all depressed, i pick myself up from bad luck and have high motivation to keep going and exploring, and am content and happy about my life despite the health problems. but in those specific flare ups, i turn into a different person, luckily for me this depression symptom mostly lasts only a couple of days. the pain and fatigue and brain fog lasts much longer.

That's why you have to keep pushing for better times, keep massaging, stretching, coping, & working with your body. Its ass most of the time but when you get those moments where you're body doesn't hold you back or when even you can forget the pain even if for only a conversations time, its worth it to have that joy. Im still coming around to learning to be happy despite the pain but its all with time I guess.

It's just a suggestion you might wanna try the hyperbaric oxygen treatment chamber and dental occlusion THERAPHY. Fibromyalgia and CFS/m e is caused by poor oxygen perfusion in the cells and tissue causing lactic acid and hif1alpha to build or accumulate in the cells and tissue, hif 1-alpha is the protein that accumulates in the cells if there is less oxygen it's function is sensory and defensive and survivability of the cells it also promote Angiogenesis these protein alone is responsible for almost all the symptoms that all fibromyalgia and CFS/me patient suffer.including autoimmune diseased. Inorder for it to be degraded oxygen must be infused in the cells and tissue that's all

I was diagnosed at 15 and now have to use a walker at 24. I've watched my mums fibro worsen my whole life. Don't you dare claim it doesn't worsen. For some people it may stay the same but even then it's usually after your body progresses to a certain pain and platos. Fibro is progressive and the studies that say otherwise need to talk to real fibro patients.

some people just don't get it or they don't believe us... in my teen years I was repeatedly told to lose weight too, I eventually did and it didn't make me feel any better. Finally (and lucky me) at age 20 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and turns out that I've had it my whole life, it was never a weight issue... I believe you, try and find things that may lower your pain levels such as warm baths or relaxing for a few minutes between physical activities like even walking.

.Do anyone still doubt natural herbs? I've seen the great importance of natural herbs and the wonderful work they have done in people's lives. I wonder why people still spend their money on surgery, injections and drugs each time they are sick. Natural herbs can cure all kinds of illness including herpes, diabetics, asthma, Cancer, hepatitis, Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease, etc. I've seen it with my own eyes. I was cured of Irritable bowel syndrome and my Sister and her Husband were cured of herpes by dr Osemuahu who uses natural herbs to cure different kind of illness. Even Dr. Osemuahu proved to the whole world that natural herbs can cure all diseases and he cured countless of people using natural herbs. I know is hard to believe but am a living testimony. my mom has fibromyalgia AND lupus (if you don't know what lupus is look it up.) every single day is extremely hard for her and i can't do anything about it and it makes me feel so fucking useless. her doctors are awful and have been increasing her pain relief medication as well. they're purposefully trying to kill her. i'm literally crying typing this lmfao. i don't usually think about it but i'm extremely stressed because we're supposed to move in a week and my dad is extremely busy with work and can't pack til evening. i can barely help with packing because i get extremely exhausted easily and get back pain easily as well. and of course, my mom isn't able to help either with the condition she's in right now. theres no fucking cure for either of her diseases and it makes me so angry to see that her doctors are not treating her with care and respect. i legit cannot do anything about this. all i can do is feel bad and just hope my mom is able to get her medication and to feel better, nothing else. she's not able to get it until next week and she's trying really hard to get it today but there's no luck. god i just love my fucking life.
i hope someone is able to notice this because i literally have no one to fucking vent to. my friends will either not give a shit, won't be able to make me feel better because they're awful at helping or make shit about themselves, or aren't getting along with me. and who does is busy 70% of the time and is offline. i don't have friends in real life either lol. i can only depend on friends online to fucking help me cope with all of the bullshit that goes on in my life. god life is just fucking amazing.

I HATE the medical system here! All the lies I endured ruined 17 years of my life and counting. I was first diagnosed with herniated discs which has progressed to chronic back pain that no meds will help with. Then, I was diagnosed with RA, then ibromyalgia, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea, severe narcolepsy (which has returned) , and Sjogren’s (which is like lupus only it makes you dry inside and out. I had ulcerated eyes for 2 years, and had to leave my teaching career). I also got mold toxicity at the same time. This caused thrush, h-pylori ulcer which took 5 months to heal, and was bleeding. These were all triggered by breast implants, and before I could PAY to get them taken out by a specialist, I had to have 3 major surgeries within 5 months and then get well enough to have the surgery. I couldn’t think, my family thought I was a hypochondriac and a druggie. They put me in a rehab for 5 days and all I was on was 1 clonopin and 1 very low dose Vicodin in the morning and the same at night. The people there told me I should NOT be there, and you don’t take someone off clonopin cold turkey! Then I was labeled “drug dependent”, and had to go to meetings like I was a drug abuser. I stopped going because I had bigger things to think about. All my symptoms were coming from the Sjogren’s… diarrhea and insomnia for 6 months, and the strangest symptoms you’ve ever experienced. I now am missing 3 teeth because it gives you dental caries (cavities). What a nightmare!
In addition, I almost died in the table during my explant and all the surgeries said I had enlarged lymph nodes. Most women who get cancer from breast implants die if lymphoma. Nice that they tell us these things! What came out of me looked like two slabs of dried up bacon! I also contracted a chest wall infection from the hospital, pseudomonas aeriginosa, which is a
      50 % deadly bacterial infection.
I then had to move out of the condo with mold by myself. Not one person helped me, and I’m in my 60s. I’m mad at the medical system, have chronic leg pain during the middle of every day, after that infection, and I was never really able to get reimbursed fir my surgery nor the hospital visits.
Im left a lot better, but the residual fibro and flares of RA, the Sjogren’s flares which attack my eyes, and I am chronically tired snd in pain. My love life has dwindled to just about nothing. I am asked out, but I never feel well, and at dinner time I don’t feel like cooking because my back is on fire, and I’m ready for bed.
I’m overwhelmed, and I have no help and my money was eaten up my medical bills. I’m so depressed, I’m ready to jump off a bridge!
I feel bad for you because I know it’s a heavy load on you! Take baby steps and try to do what you can. That’s all I can offer but prayers. and meditation. That helps me immensely. 🙏💕💫

So I’m going to talk to citizens advice about that and my doc cos I really need to get this sorted now as it’s really affecting my life at the moment .

    Fibromyalgia Facts - Cochrane Library
    - Fibromyalgia is a clinically defined chronic condition of unknown etiology characterized by chronic widespread pain that often coexists with sleep disturbances, cognitive dysfunction and fatigue.
    - Duloxetine and milnacipran are FDA approved for the treatment of fibromyalgia
    - Duloxetine and milnacipran had no clinically relevant benefit over placebo for pain relief of 50% or greater
    - Duloxetine and milnacipran had a clinically relevant benefit over placebo in patients global impression to be much improved: 888 of 1710 (52%) on duloxetine and milnacipran.
    - Milnacipran had clinically relevant benefit compared to placebo for pain relief of 30% or greater.
    - Quality of evidence considered to be low for studies evaluating duloxetine, milnacipran, and desvenlafaxine.
    - A minority of people with fibromyalgia experienced symptom relief without side effects from duloxetine and milnacipran.
    - European League Against Rheumatism ( EULAR): Strong evidence was available only for drug therapy. Based on a good response in several small trials, the group recommends heated pool treatments with or without exercise (strength of evidence: B). Tramadol, antidepressants, tropisetron, pramipexole, and pregabalin are effective for reducing pain, and antidepressants can improve function (strength of evidence: A). There is only weak evidence supporting the use of tailored exercise programs, cognitive behavioral therapy, neuro feedback, acetaminophen, or weak opioids. No research has evaluated the relative benefits of treatment, and most of the studies are short in duration, creating the possibility of a potent placebo effect.
    - Bottom line: Antidepressants, pramipexole, pregabalin, tramadol, tropisetron, and heated pool treatments have been shown to have short-term effectiveness in the treatment of fibromyalgia pain. There is no scientific evidence for ‘alternative medicine…holistic medicine’ treatments. Brain mapping techniques have no proven role in the management of FMS.
There is no scientific evidence that any dietary supplement or a particular diet will relieve fibromyalgia symptoms.
There is no scientific evidence that spinal cord compression or a primary autonomic disorder are important causes of fibromyalgia.
Fibromyalgia is a horrid condition that is poorly understood.

This video is basically saying all the general stuff that most of us already know because we're living with it.. What it's not talking about is things like the fact that there's a heavy mitochondrial dysfunction element to fibromyalgia. Damaged mitochondria can be gotten rid of by fasting for anywhere from 24 to 72 hours. It's a process called at autophagy where the body recycles misfolded proteins, viral DNA garbage Left behind from viral infections, bacterial garbage Left behind from bacterial infections, and a whole bunch of other crap that gets stored in the cell. Autophagy also causes the self to self-eat and get rid of all that debris. It also forces the body into something called mitophagy where it gets rid of the old damage mitochondria and produces new mitochondria. Why is this not talked about, ways and things that people can do to possibly improve their condition? Why is it always about pharmaceuticals?? Fasting doesn't cost anything! And pretty much anybody can do it as long as you're otherwise healthy and not on certain medication for diabetes. It's worth looking into. All somebody has to do is Google "mitochondrial involvement in fibromyalgia". Then google "autophagy for mitophagy" .....geeze😣 I get it, in the medical field, meds are the first approach that they take , but a lot of times these approaches make people worse off and more sick than they already are. They need to talk about what can be done naturally and in a more healthful way ro get people feeling better. That may be WITH medication or without, but all the information should be there.. not just pharmaceutical information. And I really hate the fact that anytime you see it mentioned, they say it's a chronic illness that will never go away. You're destined to have this and be in hell and misery for the rest of the time that you are alive on this Earth! I have a problem with that too! 😡 Because it stops people from trying to find new solution that maybe aren't thought of yet. Besides that, I don't believe, based on all the papers that I have read, that the core reason for why each person has fibromyalgia is going to be different. I think fibromyalgia is technically an umbrella term for "You hurt everywhere but nobody knows why so we're going to call it fibromyalgia and diagnose you with it."

Sounds like a total psychological problem, Hypochondriac, i can't stand people in my hospital when they place fibromyalgia as there first diagnosis, I know i'm in for a long day, cause their demanding, and don't think right, their off in thinking. it is a total train wreck.

You should count your blessings you don’t have it . Don’t judge people until you have felt their pain . How dare you .

Just because it is "in their minds" doesn't mean the pain isn't real. Where do you think pain comes from????
All of these diseases are the same, and have origins in the brain, but they aren't fake. The pain is real. Have some compassion.

I have been a trained nurse for 44 years and I have fibromyalgia and not embarrassed to say. The pain is horrendous particularly on top of osteoarthritis. Its obvious that you have not had any education in your hospital. Plenty other places you can learn what all the symptoms are.
