As a youtuber content creator I have the ability to fish whatever I want. I choose to fish Lews Rods and Reels. When I played golf I used all titleist gear. I've had tons of experience with duckett rods and they rank among my favorite. Some people love them some hate them. Here is my review on why I am a lover not a hater

I just bought a Duckett Silverado about a month and a half ago. Been great so far. I caught a 6.2lber a couple weeks back while in my kayak. I hooked the bass and it swam right under the side of my boat bent my rod almost in half. Rod took it like a champ so I have no complaints.

Have a sucker ghost myself , was given as a gift with no receipt or warranty, been 1 year. Fished with it a ton and love it..... buuuuuuut...... 5 guides are currently missing off of it. You always know when one breaks when you are casting and all of a sudden on the next cast you hear a little jingle on the end of your pole. Sucks but I do love the rod. Their guide design sucks bad though

I have have 5 Duckett Micro Magic Pros, 1 Ghost and 1 Silverado, they all kick butt!
The Silverado is a Med/ Fast casting and I have hauled 4-5 pounders out of some heavy cover and it was flawless. This is a great value for $99.00 where the old Ghost line used to be.
Their lightweight, sensitive feel and consistency has been helpful in catching more fish.

We bass fish quite a bit and my buddy bought a couple duckett rods which I thought had a gimmick look to them and I totally disregarded them and I'll have to say when I finally picked them up I was really impressed. He also bought some st croix mojo rods and I really like them both. The price range is really good and both of them are a good step up from a lot of entry level hundred dollar rods. Spend and extra 20 to 40 dollars and get them if your just starting out I think you will be pretty pleased.

I have a 7’ med heavy duckett with a guide broke second from the bottom. I couldn’t take it back cause my warranty was up. But I’ve been using it like that for over a year now and knock on wood it’s still holding up. I love duckett rods I will always use them. I also have a 7’ heavy duckett paired with a 9.3:1 abu Garcia revo Rocket I use for jigs, frogs and 10 inch worms and to just throw around think grass but she is a beauty.

I’ve been using Duckett rods for 7-8 years, and it’s true they used to have serious issues, but they’ve corrected those issues in the last few years. My first Duckett had reel seat issues, a very crooked guide train, glue all over the blank, and the rod eventually snapped like a twig on a hook set just below the stripping guide. Duckett sent me a new one free of even a shipping charge (their customer service department is excellent). I starting buying their rods again 3-4 years ago and I’ve had no issues at all with them. Their website says the guide trains have been completely redesigned and the blanks have been improved in several ways. I currently own 4 different models and all the past issues have definitely been corrected. My rods are made up of Shimano’s, St. Croix’s, and Duckett’s, all performing flawlessly. If you’re a wallet conscious angler, the Micro Magic rod is one of the best $140 - $150 rods you can buy, period.

Worked at BPS for a few years. Ran the fishing department at my store. I had a few customers that would order G Loomis glx and nrx rods and buy the gear guards for them all. Every 12 months they'd break them and bring them in and replace them. Then buy another $80 gear guard on them all. They did that for the 4 years I was there. They were getting new $500 rods every year for I think it was about $80 a piece. It's actually a good program if you know how to utilize it.

I've used Duckett Medium Spinning Rods and MH casting rods (Terex, Micro Magic and now Triad) for the past 5 or 6 years. For the price they're hard to beat for what you get. A good combination of value and performance. I would shy away from the older white Ghosts though. I've had friends break them but I've never had any problems with those I outlined above.

Wish duckett would make regular sized guides...or at least semi micro instead of micro. I run braid to leader on all my setups so I can’t use micro guides. Plus, they don’t even increase casting distance anyways. It’s just a sales technique. And then on top of all that I don’t like bare rod on the reel seat. It’s uncomfortable and once again, just another sales tactic that doesn’t actually perform aka not more sensitive.
Now that I think about it idk why would even want to try a duckett lol.

The thing is, when Duckett told me they do not warranty their guides for any reason, that was a deal breaker. If they used industry proven name brand guides instead of no name whatever’s, then I might stand behind that with some peace of mind. I find it absurd that I would have to pay my local rod builder to fix my rod guides because of poor quality guides Duckett doesn’t stand behind. They are however, very nice people at Duckett, and their rods are fun to fish with. It’s just hard to invest with them, when you have companies like St. Croix who are much further ahead of the industry.

they dont break they just half ass put them on. they dont warranty it. only for "manufacturing defects" what happens is the epoxy and thread tying down the guides are cheap chinisium stuff. and how is a rod "manufactured"? they get a blank. and tie on guides , and glue on seat and handles. but they dont cover it for guides. pretty worthless imo.

"The guides are most likely going to fail and the reel seat can be suspect, but you should buy this rod over all the other good choices out there???" I admire your honesty, but your logic and recommendations are utter nonsense.
