He was destined for greatness at Old Trafford after that night. Rooney was an absolute monster in his prime and the goals, assists, tackles and trophies he delivered will forever ensure that he’s a Man United legend for all eternity. @Blaze Temp first of all I am talking about Fergie's entire career which includes the period he had with Cantona and Class of '92 followed by the transition to Cole and Yorke. To have that talented a team and to win just one CL is an under-achievement.
      And what is Ronaldo's peak? Mbappe's peak began at 18 so I would say if you do well with the team around Ronaldo...20 year old Ronaldo won't be the reason you don't win UCL.

      @@palashrawat401 I agree and Fergie has admitted that he should have probably won more CL trophies but there's a lot of things that need to go for you to do that, it's not always the best team that wins it... Look at this year's final, City is clearly the best team in the competition but no one would be surprised if Chelsea won it... Look at how united won our two CL trophies under Fergie, two last minute goals after being battered for 90 mins and a pen shoot out after a guy slipped

But still there is something about English clubs not being able to dominate europe even at their peak in the last 30 years or so. Ultimately all truly eternal teams dominate Europe like Messi's Barca or Ronaldo's Real or Sacchi's Milan or even Bayern Munich. But English clubs fail to instil that terror in european opposition.

      @veerium Před 3 lety +3

      @@palashrawat401 maybe it's about EPL itself that's quite competitive. You need to split focus to title race or top 4 race and your European competition. Bayern is almost always champion domestically. Barca and real just switch champion with occasionally Atletico win it but they almost guarentee top 4. Last 10 years serie A just ceremonial league to crown juve the title. And that come down with how EPL split prize and TV revenue quite equally so the league is hella competitive comparatively to other top 5 leagues
