The M3 or M4 would make a great daily driving performance car. The main downside is they have lost the raw edge that M cars had previously but maybe this is just the way the markets going. Cars are becoming heavy and numb.

CarreraGT I get 25mpg in my M4, and I'm not driving very environment friendly. Even the 4.0 C63 gets around 20ish, the 6.2 is more like 17mpg, and thats when driving normal. I Love AMGs, but dont try to Compare them in efficency. These is just no way a 4.0 Liter V8 can keep anywhere near a 3.0 Liter straight 6.
One thing that most reviewers dont say is that if you put the throttle in sports or sports+ mode, you better be ready to punch the gas pedal, otherwise the car will stutter like crazy if you go easy on the pedal. For most city driving, you'll practically never use anything else but comfort mode.
I`ll be honest here. If you really want an actual daily the M4 is not the best choice. The M3 is far more practical and easier to live with. I would still suggest you to try a Maserati Ghibli, a S3 Saloon or a Macan. Buying a BMW M4 is sure to be fun, but it kind of defeats the purpose of you wanting a daily.
to put the car back into auto mode from manual mode just kick the stick over once to the right, or the left for you in the uk and just to note there is a design flaw with the m4 coupe where the seat will hit the vanity mirror in the sun visors and crack them when the seat is slid forward but I have an m3 in Yas Marina blue with Dinan-Tronics stage 2 cold air intake and exhaust and it's a beast of a car, definitely a good purchase
The DCT and the standard automatic (ZF) are quite different. But I have never experienced it as being hard to handle or hard to figure out. But nice to see you enjoying it. I think that many people nowadays complain over BMW:s just because it "is a thing to do." IMO BMW still makes the best cars all over. Of course you cannot compare the M2 with a Cayman around a track; the Cayman is a mid-engine and cost a lot more. Same with the M3/4, they are normal cars that you can stuff a lot of luggage and people in, but if you want to, you can also lap the Nordschleife in the weekend - and seriously fast. And when it comes to engines, the big companies must go with the flow and try to make the cars more efficient - and we should be happy about that to. So great video Paul.
Are you really dead set on just M cars. Do try the 650i sport gran coupe or the 2 door coupe for bigger space. at least the 650i still has a V8 that gives out a more immediate linear power for your daily driving plus that V8 sound. Anyways good luck with your car shopping.
I think an M3 looks better than the M4. Looks even more agressive because the rear doors create an optical illusion making the wheel arches look even wider..another plus is that the saloon has shorter front doors which makes getting in and out easier when parked next to other cars. For color I would look for a lime green or something along the lines of that..The newer ones come with the latest OLED technology for the lights..not sure if those are within budget though..good luck hunting!
M135i is not very expensive in the UK... It dosnt look very cool but its alot of performance for your money. I would say its a better choice then a S3 or golf R. A hot hatch with 6-cylinder and rwd... thats rare. And you get close to 400 hp with exhaust and tune upgrade.

Just got an M6, starting a vlog around it soon!..Also since the cars are dual clutch there's no slip like on a single, so you have to gas it to engage to clutch. Little weird at first but I like it now!

For rainy and icy condition and all year drive, Audi S3 should be your daily. You can use the extra money saved on your next supercar.
Am I the only one who thinks a BMW M4 is not a "daily" car they are beasts 💸
M4 is nice! The M3 even looks a bit better and has the 4 doors which is practical. I would go for an M3 though :)
If you're getting a daily that is pretty comfortable and easy to live with, you really need to ditch the AMG for something more extreme and engaging.
