How to Make Kimchi and Radish Kimchi | 김치 & 깍두기 만들기

- It's been a while since my grandma made kimchi, so this time I made sure to whip out my camera! Since everyone makes kimchi differently, it's hard to give out measurements. Everything is mostly eyeballed and based on taste. But enjoy my grandma and mom make delicious kimchi and radish kimchi! :)
*I realized I forgot to include a step that they put sugar in the kimchi filling.

The first batch of kimchi I ever made I put some red bell peppers in it - this is the first time I've seen anyone else do it. It adds a special juicy flavor :D

It took me a year, but I finally got around to making kimchi. I used a different recipe, but it was very similar to yours. It turned out really well. I just wish I had bigger containers like yours.

lynny A. I think it's rice flour paste (rice powder plus water). Her granny was stirring it in a pot and heated it up earlier...
it is sweet rice powder with water. it helps in making all the spices mix well and stick to the cabbage better, also helps in the fermenting process :)
I tried making it once, but I used the wrong 'hot' pepper flakes. Korean hot pepper flakes are not too hot. I might try making it again.
Is that the kimchi you used in your volcano mukbang?
There's different levels of spiciness. We got the non spicy one. No, it's not. we made this kimchi yesterday :)

Love watching Kimchi making videos. Someone once Told me there were as many different Kimchi recipes as there were Grandmas in Korea ^_^. I dare not try making Kimchi in my apt but I will when we get a house though I'm the only one who eats it. Thanks for sharing this video with us.
I thought you suppose to keep the kimchi in a glass jar or clay pot, not in the plastic container!
MihaelaV68 Glass cases and clay pots were mainly used in the older Korean years. Some Korean families still use that method but others find it easier to use plastic containers
