Mickey Jones, he was a drummer for years on and off before acting.
Total Recall ironically enough, he was the miner that talks to Arnold Schwarzenegger on the train

I love how they keep looking at each other and laughing. At the end of the film (during the end credits) you see postcards of all the places (and people) they encountered. When they show these two, they are still laughing at each other.😂

I came looking for this movie scene simply because I think it sums up almost the entire Automotive Sales and Repair industry. I quote it often.

Great scene. I actually think the scene where the kid goes "Got Asteroids?" and the other kid goes "No, but my dad does" is the most hilarious scene in the movie, but overall yes this movie is fantastic!

He was the drummer for The First Edition with Kenny Rogers. Plays a great character in Vacation
He also played for a leg of a 1966 European tour with The Hawks (aka THE BAND) backing Bob Dylan, when original drummer Levon Helm left due to the constant booing for Dylan going "electric".
he is also in Sling Blade

In places like that everybody knows everyone else. So the mechanic already knows he's from out of town. The very fact he actually said it gives away just how clueless he is and how little he knows of how the crooked variety of small towns work.
After the mechanic said, "All of it, boy," Clark was then supposed to ask, "Take credit cards?" and the mechanic was supposed to reply, "Nope."
Ellen reported that her credit card was lost. They don't have any travelers cheques. Aunt Edna has .11 cents, thanks to her taking care of those social security cheques.
@@leebob86 Well, Clark still has his but later Clark finds out that the bank mistakenly reported his lost, too. He also gave $500 to Eddie and everything on their road trip has cost twice as much as he calculated.
Whoa, just noticed the little mechanic is the same guy that played Cruiser in Stripes. Looks like by this time, fast cars was still one of his hobbies, but maybe not fast women by the looks of things.

Nob Boffin He also played a reoccurring character on the 90's sitcom, "Home Improvement." He played a construction worker that was a friend of Tim's.
In the 1960s he also played drums in Bob Dylan's band and in Kenny Rogers and the First Edition.

The script writers are spot lighting the total corruption of so many car repair mechanics...they will literally take you to the cleaners, or, if you prefer..."all of it boy".
Because he knows he can legally keep Clark's car (mechanic's lien) until he pays the bill and because he knows Clark is on vacation and will pay almost anything just to get back on the road.
Simple answer why not?
