It’s legal. That’s exactly why it’s borderline. He’s on the edge of the rules but he is within them
Man, when you slow mo this... you realize that Ben hits down his serve... some of them are definitely illegal..... great match overall. He's show the upward sweeping motion but ..... meh
every serve is legal, timestamp one instance that it isnt... Ben keeps the top of his paddle barely lower than the handle (within the rules) more horizontal than anyone in the game. He hits with a side swing motion which creates more power than from directly behind. All hits are at waist level as well and the follow through is an upward motion. The only person that comes close to illegal serves Is Tyson, he hits a little higher than waist level sometimes.
@@bangerpickleball Tyson is blatant. He swings side and down.. you may want to slow mo some of those serves. Just because you can put top spin on the ball doesn't mean he isn't hitting it on an upward swing. You can disagree it's fine. For me, it very borderline. He arcs it but at contact its literally level
@@Mike_Torres_Golf I agree some are iffy, but you can you tell for the most part he has maximized power within the rules. I stood 1ft behind him at Takeya and i Was surprised at how much faster it was in person. I dont think he faults enough for anyone to call him on it. Tyson's is bad which is why Jay was mimicking him and caused drama in newport.
@@bangerpickleball I mean for Ben I don't think it matters how he serves he's so good he can lollipop them and still win
