welp these companies have decreed you're not allowed to order a pizza with a wii anymore have spoken. Sad. Have fun filling a landfill with it and buying the next new shiny thing that does the exact same thing. I think the real culprit is offsite service as a software substitute APIs. We need locally hosted P2P so software can't be murdered by a third party like that. It could have lasted forever.
But I guess that person above will just make fun of me for being sad about it.

guys I have a question. Whenever I open up the food channel click order and then I click see menu on the dominos page it tells me that an error has occurred on the server. Is there any fix?? Please answer fast. I want to order it for the football game today. Thank you. @MichaelMJD I’m in US btw

There's a mod for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion that lets you order a real-life pizza through an NPC.

@@MasterGoku21 I mean, I just said it was a mod lol, though I believe it did have some dependencies on some other plug-ins if that's what you meant.
No idea if it still works, I've never tried it. IIRC it used a Python-based API someone else made for ordering stuff from Domino's, so if that's up-to-date, then hopefully...

What a great work has the team behind WiiLink done. Even though this was a dead channel created in mind of only Japanese users, it can still work on west, and allow Wii to feed you.

You can order a pizza from a wii, but not buy digital games, really weird times we live in.
Because the Wii shop is discontinued. It would be illegal to buy games on the wii without that money going to Nintendo. If any profits were to be made, Nintendo would strike down homebrewing

The modding/homebrew community behind the wii never fails to astound me. I gotta try this sometime.
Have to admit, I didn't expect this app to *actually interface with the Dominos site* to load the menu and properly compile an order. Had to have been a crapton of manual work. I also wonder if it will continue to work if Dominos redesigns their website, as I don't think they have a publicly available API?
The discord bot will probably be the middleman handling everything here...
There's a Python API for Domino's called "pizzapi"
They have an undocumented API which is definitely more reliable than scraping the HTML, but it's still subject to break/change without notice if Domino's decides to change how it works

Honestly, this sounds like an amazing idea for building good habits. I'm imagining if I owned a house with an arcade room, I'd put the wii there, and it'd be the dedicated pizza delivery box. If you want pizza, you have to go to the pizza spot in the arcade room and use the wii to order it. It's fun and stops you from ordering pizza when you don't actually want it or need it

I remember back in like 2013, someone made an iPhone jailbreak tweak that added an “Order a pizza” action that could be mapped to different gestures. Like imagine dropping your phone and 30 minutes later Dominos is at your door.

Nintendo being ahead of the food delivery game, well before Just Eat, Uber Eats and the others even existed. It's brilliant, like when you thought what's the one thing your console can't do but wish it could ... here it is. Gaming and pizza, the two make so much sense together.
The time I actually tried this I was actually surprised to get the pizza I ordered, and the delivery guy was surprised that I ordered the pizza off of the Wii 😂
I heard about the food channel on Thomas Game Docs, but man it's sick that it's been revived. Great work by the devs.

Cool to see a lot of wii modding videos on the channel recently, your guide on how to mod the wii a couple years ago is what got me into modding consoles in the first place.
I was a beta tester of WiiLink. It was pretty surreal using the channel in english for the first time and it not being available to the public.
I'm not only admiring those people making this port (or whatever it could be called), but for you MJD too for finding and explaining this crazy crap right here :D Oh and one more thing... 20$+ for this little pie? This is how much you pay in the US for this beautiful necessity in life??

It's a translation and modification of the Demae Channel. There is a Domino's version and a Deliveroo Version
I really love the video's that are like 'doing things that shouldn't be possible on the DS(i), 3DS, Wii, etc. It gives me some weird kinda nostalgia even tough I never used the channels or anything.

I would be telling this to family, but we (for some reason) only order and eat pizza from Little Ceasers, not Domino's. In fact I can't remember the last time I had pizza from Domino's.
I personally prefer Papa John's or Scorpio's (a local Italian restaurant) to Domino's. I used to get Hungry Howie's all the time, but just kinda fell off.
The Dominos where I live closed back in 2001, and the nearest one in 4 hours away :(

I recently got a Wii back in April that I homebrewed myself and I REALLY want to try this out on it now, this is so cool.
My dad would say "watch me do this" And he picks up the phone landline and call in his order.. 😂

I love the homebrew community its given new life into the Wii I rediscovered in my closet during Covid and lets hope they add more pizza shops to the channel just for the lols
While we don't have a Domino's Pizza in my hometown anymore, I do know some people in my family, that live in towns/cities that do, and also have a Wii. While it is incredible that this channel can now be used internationally, it is kind of funny that is it's availability is the complete opposite of its availability in 2009. And it doesn't even need an NTSC-J (Japanese) Wii? It is pretty amazing that it can now be used on PAL (Europe, UK, & Australia), and NTSC-U (North American) consoles with this revival project. I hope more restaurants are supported for North America soon. You know, This was quite the video to watch!
I can't help but imagine Nintendo bringing this back in a way, especially since ordering delivery online has changed a lot since the Wii era (Something like Doordash or any other 3rd party delivery service being available on the Switch.) It'll probably never happen but it's an interesting thing to imagine.

It doesn’t. It is a Homebrew app made by a couple of developers. WiiLink didn’t exist until recently.

It doesn't stil, work, WiiLink modified the app by modding Demae for Deliveroo and Domino's, Demae Channel doesn't work anymore unfortunately

Big whoop- my grandma's phone is even older and still can order pizzas pretty easy. Even the buttons for the pizza place are stuck down so it's always ready to call them.
