    Had to return mine today. On my second cut the transmission started making a clunking sound. I knew the whine of the transmission on the first day was going to be an issue. It wasn’t a constant loud whine but sounded like a noise something would make on its way out. And good luck trying to call ego. I was on the phone for ever and even if you request a call back which they eventually did they just let my phone ring once and then they hung up. This way so they can close it out and move on to the next caller. 1200 dollars and I wanted it so bad to work. Their lack of customer service sealed the deal for me.

      Yeah I haven’t heard anything bad about the commercial version but I went with the other because it came as a kit with a 10 amp hour battery and what I think they consider a turbocharger

      @stevmstng5165 yep those batteries alone are expensive, I have tried looking around but I think I would go with the commercial version, I have a commercial Honda mower hrc216 and it's been great even tho I don't use it commercially. Just better built imo.

    Also make sure that you register your LM2206sp on the EGO Connect Application- you will be able to increase the self propel up to 4 mph and also increase maximum turbo from 3100 to 3350. It still is an excellent mower without the application, but if you want to maximize the potential… connect it and adjust.

      Debating this mower in the aluminum or polycarbonate deck. The self propelled high pitched whine is awful.I have a very thick lawn, 12k sq ft of KBG grass, huge oak, and maple leaves that drop basketball sized leaves in the fall. I use my current Honda HRX 217HYA 200cc with hydrostatic transmission and have zero issues it cuts like a dream. I also use it to vacuum/bag trimmed yews, hydrangeas, etc, after pruning. However, I'm getting older and like the appeal of electric. My concerns are as follows:
      1) Will this mower leave clumps, lines, and trails of grass while mowing
      2) I've read reviews that this will not pick up/vacuum leaves very well even with the high lift blades installed (doesn't come with the mower, apparently)
      3) Debating on getting two 12ah batteries buying mower by itself or the 10ah battery and charger combo and one additional 12ah battery as I want to be sure I can finish my tasks, I'd prefer a super fast dual battery charger if they make one
      4) Most importantly, I've read where Ego customer service is a joke, and if your mower stops working, you're helpless and essentially have a very expensive paper weight due to no local dealer support
      I'd appreciate any and all feedback or suggestions 😊

    Just bought one today at Lowe’s for half price. They had it marked down to 597 because it was their floor model. Except for the mower, everything else was brand new in the packaging. Got 30 days to try it out so I pulled the trigger. Even if I don’t like the mower, I figured I could sell it for a couple hundred bucks at our annual yard fall yard sale and keep the battery and charger. I have the trimmer, blower, and snowblower and they have never let me down. Getting the 10ah battery is great since I have 3 of the 5 ah. That 10 should be awesome with the snowblower.

    The Honda self propel ramp up is better than this which is high pitched and only a stop/go to the set point, so it’s tougher to use on turns or going around small trees, etc. It’s getting better but not quite there yet

    This is thievery traditional mowers never cost $1200. They cost 500 bucks 600 bucks 700 bucks beautiful Honda / toro traditional mowers so why is this $1200 but no one can ever explain the $600 plastic one or the $600 traditional ones that are gas.

    • @3rdyellow
      @3rdyellow Před 4 měsíci +4

      Not to mention these battery powered ones will need new battery every four years or so to keep about the same runtime, which amounts to an additional $300 (I checked the battery price of this EGO 56-Volt 5 Ah Lithium Ion) provided they still manufacture the same battery. Maybe after a decade, they will switch to new batteries and you will have to buy another $1200 mower, which will be $1600 by then. Meanwhile, I was debating whether to replace the carburetor to future-proof my 14-year old Toro gas mower and this video motivated me to replace it for $60 OEM. These new mowers are unaffordable, both in the short-term and in the long-term. Seem very disposable, just like EVs, in my opinion.

      @@3rdyellowthere’s a lot of unreasonable hate for electric lawn care equipment but what your saying is fair. The fuel savings take a long time to pay off and by that time you may very well need new batteries. It’s really just a personal preference right now.

      First, I spent almost $900 20+ years ago on a Honda “hydrostatic” self propelled mower. In today’s dollars that’s way past $1200. Btw, it still works great. The attraction of the battery mowers is convenience, ease of operation for kids, women, etc. no tune ups, gas to mess with. If my Honda ever dies this may be my next mower.

      Which model did you buy? I just bought a carburetor to extend the life of my 14-year old Toro gas mower. There was nothing wrong with it other than corrosion in the fuel line, so I assumed inside might have it as well. I figure OEM parts might be difficult to come by in the future, so I purchased it as a safety net.
