So you bought the one feature in this video? Interesting. I've got a LM2114 and have been wanting to upgrade. I miss the cut quality of my old Toro Super Recycler. Haven't heard strong enough reviews of the top of the line Egos. Maybe they're that good now??

@@infotime I just have 1 cut with it but I cut my yard this morning on lowest setting and went back over it with new mower and got a full bag out of it. My biggest complaint with old mower was it didn’t suck anything up. This one sucked up 1/2 the water balloons off the grass! the previous one didn’t get any any water balloons. Also the lowest setting on this one is actually low, should be able to get a good scalp out it. Old one wasn’t good for that at all. It was good for mowing high that’s about it

This may be the one for me. I bought an original in 2016 and suffered through a month of shitty cuts, bought a Honda. I'm still using the Honda and it's my only gas powered equipment. I always said the OG Ego needed more weight to deal with thicker turf and this seems to do the job. Thank you so much!

Also make sure that you register your LM2206sp on the EGO Connect Application- you will be able to increase the self propel up to 4 mph and also increase maximum turbo from 3100 to 3350. It still is an excellent mower without the application, but if you want to maximize the potential… connect it and adjust.

Great initial review! I'm in the Makita/Milwaukee battery ecosystem, and this mower looks markedly better than Ego's other offerings. Cut quality looks good too. Like the Milwaukee M18 mower, the big question remains who are the target buyers for a 21" push mower at that price point. Looking forward to seeing the longer term observation as the summer progresses

I've had my Honda for 10 years and will last for probably another 10 years. This battery crap is only as good as the batteries, and there hasn't been any significant advances in battery technology in a very long time. These things will lose their potency, then you have to buy new battery packs for the price of a new mower. Meanwhile I'll spend a few bucks in fuel, oil, filters and plugs and run that Honda pretty much indefinitely.

I like walk behinds except for the wheel ruts. Toro should give us the upgrade option of pneumatic wheels to reduce wheel ruts. Toro weighs 150 pounds and weekly mowing pattern alternating does little to help wheel ruts in lawn.

It is fantastic. I had two Honda HRX.
It runs easier, smoother, and stronger than both of them. It cuts my grass so better than I expected too.

I think you even mentioned it on one of your reviews I saw a while back. I have 3 Toros and just love the 60V Super Recycler. The cut quality is superb and it feels very natural like a gas lawnmower. To me the Milwaukee throttle or the Honda is the best where you can control it as you need it. I bought a 16” Sun Joe 8 years ago and the mow easily looks as good as the cut in this video. Very light which is good for seniors. I realize anyone mowing a decent size yard like his would need a wider cut but for small yards like mine…. You don’t need a high price mower like his. All I have done to it is change the blade. It takes me about 30 minutes to mow and 1 battery is sufficient. I do have an extra battery that I rotate out every week.

I currently have the 8.5lb torque (stated on the original EGO release & change to 8.3lb after the release of non-Peak Power LM2156SP) dual battery Peak Power LM2142SP with smooth under deck like the LM2206SP (All OG SelectCut units have some rough surfaces under the deck) that has been retrofitted with genuine EGO parts into a SelectCut dual blade system (no weight change) using the High Lift blade set (+0.32lb). To keep the unit down I have been using two 12.0Ah batteries to get the weight benefit, runtime (190 min.) and Peak Power Technology that keeps the batteries not overheating under hot days (the 5.0Ah will still overheat sometimes and the single battery LM2102SP will not overheat if 10.0Ah/12.0Ah batteries are used). So basically I have a Peak Power SelectCut LM2107SP that takes quiet a bit of effort to lift the front wheels. Here are the weight comparisons:
    LM2206SP : 83.8lb + 7.4lb (10.0Ah) = 91.2lb
    LM2156SP : 54.5lb + 7.4lb (10.0Ah) = 61.9lb
    LM2147SP : 55.8lb +0.32lb (High Lift) + 7.9lb x 2 (12.0Ah) = 15.8lb = 71.92lb
With years of personal experience with Turbo feature on EGO tools my conclusion is: They are amazing fast and powerful and... I should avoid using it 95% of the time as it overheats the batteries, decreases the longevity of the cells charging retention level very rapidly right after the first year of ownership. This is why I prefer buying all my high torque EGO tools with the Peak Power technology included to prevent some overheating and battery degradation ( I am aware they make the commercial unit with Peak Power technology). Thank you again for the review, I am going to keep my eyes on the long term reviews of your and many other CZcams/social media reviewers especially on battery runtime, overheating, how well the charge is holding up when using the Turbo speed for a long period of time under hot weather conditions before invest into this expansive mower.

Valid points, I agree. Debating this mower in the aluminum or polycarbonate deck or the commercial version the LMX5300SP. However, the LMX5300SP is a single blade and typically single blades cut like crap vs 2. I have a very thick lawn, 12k sq ft of KBG grass, huge oak and maple leaves that drop basketball sized leaves in the fall. I use my current Honda HRX 217HYA 200cc with hydrostatic transmission and have zero issues it cuts like a dream. I also use it to vacuum/bag trimmed yews, hydrangeas, etc., after pruning. However, I'm getting older and like the appeal of electric. My concerns are as follows:
      1) Will this mower leave clumps, lines, and trails of grass while mowing
      2) I've read reviews that this will not pick up/vacuum leaves very well even with the high lift blades installed (doesn't come with the mower, apparently)
      3) Debating on getting two 12ah batteries, buying mower by itself or the 10ah battery and charger combo and one additional 12ah battery as I want to be sure I can finish my tasks, I'd prefer fast dual battery charger if they make one
      4) Most importantly, I've read where Ego customer service is a joke, and if your mower stops working, you're helpless and essentially have a very expensive paper weight due to no local dealer support
I think with earbuds and hearing protection on the loud as hell whining from the brushed self-propel drive system can be overlooked 🤔
I'd appreciate any and all feedback or suggestions 😄

I've had an EGO mower since about 2012. Their first one, push, and I'm in Florida with about 2/3 acre, mowing when it is hot. Yes it had Version 1 problems. I contacted EGO, they said they'd figured out what the problem was, and sent me a new Version 2 mower. I asked if they wanted the Version 1 shipped back and they said just keep it. After EGO came out with the self-propelled I sold the push one in 2020 and got the 2130SP. It is a huge improvement over the old EGO, doesn't get bogged down when the grass is a bit higher.
I also don't understand with people saying the batteries are dying after one or two years. I've got the 2012 battery, it still works, probably at 80%, and I've of course got the new 10ahr battery. So I've learned with the Nissan LEAF Version 1 that you shouldn't keep the batteries at 100% in the heat, as it is exponentially bad. So I'll leave it at 20%, stored in the house, and charge right before I go and mow. Now with two batteries it is that much better, as I'm not recharging in the middle of mowing, and both can cool down when I'm done.
I don't think just because it is sponsored by EGO that you throw away his observations. I've been looking at the 22" one, but yes the price will keep me using my old one. I've also heard some negativity about the Touch Drive noise. But on paper it looks good, and has the higher torque than my 2130. I think the EGO 2150 though has the higher torque too though. But I've still done OK with the 2130SP.
    So I appreciate this video.

@@shanew7361 My single blade question was really unfounded. I have yet to see a single commercial machine even a 90k Toro Groundskeeper used at golf courses use more than 1 blade so if it's good enough for them it should be adequate for me lol. The only real advantage COULD be with mulching since there are more blades but it comes at the expense of lift. If the deck is properly engineered a single high lift blade should do a great job. So far this single blade lifts, mulches and bags MUCH better than my dual blade 2156. The commercial self propelled noise is barely audible over the blade so that issue is not a concern. The commercial only comes with 1 blade and it is a high lift blade. Also I am seeing MUCH better runtimes. I would use 2 10ah batteries to cut my yard . Now I use 30% from the same 2 10ah batteries and I cut at mostly turbo because who doesn't want more blade speed and lift? Not sure why but 9 cuts on the machine and it's the same each time.
As for service I have been satisfied. If you register the tools when you buy them it's pretty simple. You call them, they verify the warranty status and attempt to fix it over the phone. If they can't, they replace it. I can't say what they would do with a mower but I have warrantied a 10ah battery, 1 multi head and 1 765 blower. Each time they sent me a brand new replacement within a week. The multi head just had a cracked handle but they sent an entire new machine and the blower cracked due to me dropping it but they still offered to replace it. I really can't complain on the service side.
No doubt it is a lot of money especially if you don't have the batteries but with Honda stopping production on mowers and gas being banned all over the place good electric options are limited. I'm in the buy once cry once camp.

Hey bro, first thing I always recommend with watering is that after you finish a cycle, go out and lift up the sod in several places and make sure it's wet underneath. Not soaked and muddy, just wet. That ensures you are watering enough. This time of year 2-3 times per day would be best. Other than that, hit it with RGS (sea Kelp) at 6oz/1000 right now and again in 2 weeks. that will help it root. thelawncarenut.com/collections/n-ext/products/rgs-root-growth-liquid-biostimulant#

@@Sacapuntas69 So I've only ever had a problem with two batteries. One was a two and a half amp that came with the weed wacker. It was the original battery and it was an older design and it gave out because I unfortunately let it get wet from the rain. So that was my own fault. It probably still would be working.
The second battery I have an issue with is where when using it in the lawn mower. It's the 5 amp that came with an ego blower 650 CFM the issue I have with it is it will have plenty of battery, but it will die for whatever reason, even though it says there's two bars left. But as soon as the mower shuts off or if it shuts off while I'm using the leaf blower doesn't matter what tool it's using. As soon as it dies immediately right after I can turn the leaf blower back on and it works or the mower. I'm not sure what's causing it but I think there's one bad battery cell that causes it to shut off thinking it's dead. The 7.5 amp battery that came with the mower originally is still working just fine. And I bought a 12 amp brand new and obviously I haven't had any issues with that. But I also recommend storing them inside the house at room temperature
