    My daughters 8th birthday is Thursday April fools day. I’m off work today and tomorrow so I’m about to give her the arrma granite voltage and back up battery as soon as she’s done picking up her toys in the living room. I think Traxxas wins here but the armma 3s blx lineup is the best bang for your dollar out of all RCs in my opinion. I can set my Granite with a 3s on 50% and low throttle so my son used it for a top speed of about 15-18mph. Then, I can grab the remote, set the remote at 100%, crank the throttle and it will do about 50mph

  • @troybolton4055
    @troybolton4055 Před 3 lety +2

    I do not own the brushed Bandit but I have several Traxxas (and Arrma) vehicles and the Arrma Voltage Granite. The Granite was a birthday gift for my 6 year old daughter. I don't know if it was intentional, if you misspoke, or you were just misinformed, but you seemed down play or not address some very important details.
    The Voltage is not a Mega as you referred to it a couple of times. It is a step below in terms of build and components. Receiver aside, unlike the Mega line, I'm not sure it is even remotely close to brushless ready.
    While the Arrma remote has more knobs, the Traxxas controller has the same adjustability, if not more, than the Arrma controller. You just need to know how to use the menu tree.
    The Arrma tires do not have foam and are rather cheap. You can buy the Traxxas Stampede wheels for the same street price and they are an improvement.
    It's true that the shocks are the same price. However, with the Traxxas, you can simply buy the individual components to fix a damage shock instead of having to replace the entire unit.
    That said, I like playing with the baby Granite too. I think it jumps more predictable than the typical rear engine 2wd. And let's face it, for around the same price as some of the larger toy grade RC cars at Walmart, you can get someone started in the world of hobby grade with a much better performing machine .

    Always usable info. Great comparison. I think that Arrma is the sexier brand right now but lacks in areas I am sure Horizons big budget will figure out.
    Arrma lacks in after market parts. Prices for Arrma part costs is very high for now.
    Having said that. Traxxas seems to have lost in the style dept. Infractions and felonies are awsome in performance and looks.
    So if you want a great vehicle and money is tight. (After initial cost to buy it) Traxxas wins. Especially X Maxx. If you have money to spend Arrma wins. Right now they are cooler and flying off shelves.

    To keep it clear and fair, buggies are way more lighter than trucks, so to keep it fair enough, the challenge needs to be Buggy v Buggy or truck v truck. Trucks are heavier and need a stronger motor to operate with, on the other hand buggies are considered race cars and suited for racing because of their lightweight and shape. No hate just a tip.

    Arrma is great but use brittle plastics, known problems with cracked suspension arms. Personally I busted my steering Knuckles on my arrma Typhon making a hard left turn with no jump. Just simply the force of the turn broke the plastic part. Traxxas has garbage shocks but are virtually indestructible when driven properly.

  • @dylanwhite6539
    @dylanwhite6539 Před 3 lety

    Eh, the motor turns are less relevant than many think. The size of the motor (540 on the arrma vs 550 on the traxxas) impacts the power output more. And turns are also different from sizes. A 12t 550 and 12t 540 actually spin at different speeds if I understood HH correctly

    I agree, the Armma Granite has really good value for money. I never thought that Arrma would be competing with these more "budget friendly" brands, but considering how popular they are, the spare parts available, the size of the car (1/10 scale is rare at this price!), and the look, other companies may have a hard time topping this.
    Personally, I like the MT look of the Granite more, but that may be because I already have a buggy (WL toys 144001). I like the big tires, and shell.
    For a beginner, they might have to invest about $200 total in the Bandit, as they'll have to buy a battery and charger.
    I'm betting that with that money you could make the Granite brushless, get a Lipo, and an affordable budget balance charger.
    The Grantie might be better for off road bashing, as it looks to have more clearance than the Bandit, it has bigger wheels, and the weight distribution might be better.
    That being said, the Bandit would probably make for a better "speed run" car, and looks to have a little more aftermarket/community support. I wonder if the Bandit is older than the Granite though.
    Another deal breaker might be the brand, some people swear by Traxxas/Armma, while other people refuse to drive Traxxas/Arrma cars. Traxxas has obvious strengths, but when you buy for, them, you're in a way, paying their lawyers to put more small companies out of business.

    Richie you didnt include the price, if they were both around the same price i could see them being a better head to head comparison but the traxxas is almost double ($189.) the price of the Arrma ($99.) so its not even a fair comparison. You could have 2 arrma cars and race with a friend or put the extra $100. into the arrma and then in the end the arrma would blow the traxxas away. For the kind of money you have left over buying the arrma you coud have a better motor, gears and a battery traxxas over priced? everything traxxas sells is over priced. Do a real price for price comparison by putting the extra money into the Arrma where the Arrma would best benifit then compare em.

    so you did not but the cheapest traxxas aka: the latrax side, but you got a true traxxas car than put it up against the true cheapest arrme, the voltage, nah i say pay like 35-40 more and but a arrma 4wd brushed, then see who is the winner as thats arrmas true cheap line and not the cheapline for new people, also you should do the 3oo mark, so a traxxas 4wd brushed as traxxas does not like to be cheap often so buy a 300-330 traxxas and a 300-330 arrma, and arrma goes 50mph at that point with any 3s car, AND traxxas only goes 20 out the box and they say 40mph with same 12t motor but really about 30 from what i got on the gps.

    Traxxas is expensive for what you get. The maxx is a good truck but its 530$ the price of a 6s truck with more expensive components then plastic. The hoss is a granite for example with a center diff and costs 130$ more. They are expensive for what they are they use recycled decade parts i think they have the same shocks the ultra shocks were first made when? I remember the first traxxas rtr to have those grey shocks. The hoss should have at least came with metal shocks and metal driveshafts and yes 450$ would have been worth it 100%. Also keep in mind if im not mistaken the old fury line of arrma who are now discontinued unfortunatly had metal driveshafts and differentials under 200$ i think correct me if im wrong. But traxxas just cannot include a full metal driveline at 450$ retail price.
    The warranty’s are different. You have 2 years on your electronics after purchase. It saved me almost 250$ on my trucks. Mainwhile traxxas has a 30d warranty policy after that period you might have to pay a 50% retail price to get ur electronic remplaced. You have to send ur electronics to them in my case im in canada shipping at my price for defective premium priced electronics who im not responsable of take 2 weeks to get to them then 2 weeks to get back to me then make me pay half the retail price to them. This is just A NO. With horrizon just need picture, description and purchase receipt and i got my esc or motor shipped the same day trought USP ground 4-6 days and its in my door step. 1 month+money vs 1week. Summer lasts 3 months here i was not going to lose 1 month of fun because of the manufacturer problem on their product And they want me to pay for it? I ended up fixing my esc myself it had a mega hole inside the epoxy isolant and water was short circuiting the whole esc.

      Xmaxx vs kraton 8s. The xmaxx has it's flaws, but the kraton is just awful. The arms break, the shock shafts bend, the shocks leak, the chassis bends, the shock towers bend, the driveshafts bend, the electronics are garbage. Xmaxx is superior.
      Erevo vs kraton 6s. The erevo has a few little flaws, but the kraton 6s is just like the 8s. The whole thing is just junk. Erevo is superior.
