Feels like yesterday when he was a superstar.
Ik they went to the super bowl and then got cut

I swear it was like a year ago he was the best fantasy player to exist
Omg 2 years ago he was a problem
He single handily almost won me my fantasy league till mcvay took him out on the last game of the season I believe 😂
He single-handedly won my fantasy for me league in 2017
LT was the best fantasy player to exist.
Jones - Drew, LT, Randy Moss, T.O., Gurley was all you needed on your fantasy team .
Every time I hear Derrick Rose it hurts me of what his career could have been It is messed up when superstars careers are jacked up by injuries😭
Man, it’s an endless list too. I always wondered about Ralph Sampson. Teamed up with Hakeem all those years. And in their second year together they manhandled the prime Showtime Lakers and made Boston sweat a little in the 1986 Finals. Imagine if they’d had 10-12 years together?
@@jpmnky Yeah don’t forget about Grant Hill Brandon Roy, and Andrew Bynum! Smh😞
just like Brandon Roy
Sucks because rose could be the only play to win mvp and not make hof. I hope he does tho
@@bl4ckw1doe Yeah me to!
His career was absolutely heartbreaking
Went to a super bowl, is a millionaire, it’s not heartbreaking at all
@@MrWarrenRB it is tf? Not all about the money
@@MrWarrenRB but he could have done so much more.
It’s not over but he’ll never be the same player he was, I don’t know if anyone will get him
@@MrWarrenRB he didn't get to live out his full potential. That's gotta be painful to bear.
It's happened a number of times in the NFL. Off the top of my head are Bo Jackson, Terrell Davis being huge rising RB stars until injuries took them out the picture. Anyone that can do 10+ years as a starting RB in the NFL is one tough bastard.
Adrian Peterson
that's why barry sanders is the goat
Jerome Bettis, Fred Taylor, Maurice Jones-Drew
I hope this isn't the case but saquon may fall down this path with the consistent injuries. I hope not ofc tho.
Frank gore
This should make people have a little bit more respect for Adrian Peterson.
😳underrated comment!!!!!
Better respect em regardless lol

This really puts into perspective the warrior mentality it takes to play in the NFL. These guys are putting their bodies on the line every week, and a good portion of them walk away physically changed by the game. You always hear about guys making millions, but you often don't hear about the sacrifices made or the punishment endured. Hopefully Gurley can have a beautiful retirement and enjoy his life post NFL.
that isnt the warrior mentality, that is the mercenary mentality... there is a big difference.
Exactly. Imagine being 30 and having pain walking 50 feet because of a bad hip. Or 50 and your brain is showing signs of dementia or losing your mental health permanently. The millions will typically be gone by then and you're poor and disabled at 50. Not all will of course, but especially RBs. We are just learning how bad brain damage is.
What a shit sport 😂
@@rafaeltorre1643 you act like athletes the only ones with mental health issues or health problems. Also would you rather work a 9 to 5 job your whole young life age 20 through 40 and be poor at retirement or have no excitement! Or play a sport and live like a king, wealthy, famous, hottest chicks all over you, having multiple homes in areas you wish you could buy a place, vacation like crazy, multiple cars. They live lifestyles we can only dream about. I guarantee you they would keep their life over yours any day of the week even with health problems, haha.
He could have retired after his first season and still make more money than you will probably ever see in your life, haha.
Man this guy was insane. Its so sad that injuries took the rest of his career. I loved him on the Rams
He got injured at that great Chiefs vs Rams game on a run on the sideline and he was never the same after.. me and my dad saw it happen live and my dad said right away “Gurley’s hurt” and he started hobbling back to the huddle and then didn’t finish the drive or something like that.. all I know is I remember distinctly him getting hurt in that game and he was never the same obviously..
Reminds me of Bo Jackson. Nothing could stop him but injuries. Even through all the pain I thought that they would have run him more in that Superbowl or decoy him. Probably the ugliest Superbowl of all time. Neither team could really do much. I was hoping the Rams could pull it out because nothing would make me more sick that seeing the Patriots win another one. But of course they did. Sounds like he received about half his big paycheck before he was cut.
That had nothing to do with it he just got arthritis lmao
@@gcut24 and whats funny about that??
@@gcut24 uhhh u can make the arthritis worst at any given moment depending on what you do to that area though so him tweakin his knee at all was more damaging then let’s say u or me makin that same run
@@topnotchtajmahal7216 you right but what makes arthritis the worse is high reps and workload. Although that one play caused probable trauma that just made it worse, I think what really made it worse was his high reps and touches throughout that terrific season, especially going into and in the playoffs. Even if he didn’t get injured that play, he sadly wasn’t gonna last.
I fell in love with the Rams because of Todd Gurley 4 yrs ago. They were so good!
Me, too. His powerful and beautiful run plays engaged me to Rams House. I miss him😭
damn straight! now meh the rams are a team i just dont like especially with the acquisition of OBJ.
When they came home to LA and Mcvay became coach is when I went back to watching football after 25+years.
Still wish the best for Gurley...and Goff(I want the Lions to do better because of him).
He fell so fast, it’s sad
For some reason I thought this guy was older before I learned he was born in 1994
Probably seems that way because he’s been on the radar since 2012 at Georgia.
I was terrified every time Seattle had to take this man down. He was an absolute beast. I wish him nothing but the best.
sadly Gurley's career is over indefinitely, there is no cure for horrible Arthritis. lets hope he is smart and invests in his money instead of being like a OBJ spend spend spend.
Unfortunately, running backs are like boxers they have a short prime. They take such a beating physically.
Not true, Frank Gore for example
@@kjames3959 lmao ur clearly a casual fan, Frank Gore represents a very small minority of running backs that play for a long time. Running backs have the shortest average prime and time spend in the league, not sure why u decided to comment as if you knew what you were talking about lol.

As a Georgia fan who was born just after the Walker years, Gurley is my favorite Dawg of all time. His knees have been giving him problems since high school. He was amazing to watch while he was healthy though. GGs Todd! GO DAWGS!!
The NFL is no joke…hope you find your next avenue my man
One of the most talented RB I've ever seen. Dude could do it all and do it so smooth. If not for the injuries, I think he goes down as one of the best RB to ever play the game.
I haven't even watched the video yet and I already know this is gonna be a tough one to get through. While I'm glad that I was able to watch and appreciate his greatness from his days at UGA, I feel that the football world got cheated of being able to watch a sustained level of greatness that would have turned into a HOF career. I hope he's doing well in life outside of football but I really miss watching this brotha tear the league up week after week.
I’ve always wanted an explanation of this. Great video!
From a former stl rams fan, this man made that last season in stl at least a little worth the watch, his power and speed was untouchable, he made that joke of an offense we had into half decent, absolutely sucks injuries shortened this mans career, very possible hof if he played a full career
Mans got me watching this on the toilet.
Ur so underrated btw keep up the good work🙃
He was smart for going into the draft early knowing he was prone to injuries but one of the best potential pickups.
Went to the draft and made his money 💰 🤑 smart man indeed
Idk something tells me Saquan about to be one of those “could’ve been” players. I rlly hope not tho
I think your right
He’s really injury prone
Fuck bro, you might be right.
The reason why you don't take running backs so high up in the draft. Probably the only reason why they haven't traded him
@@Mundanesoup4 agreed. The biggest mistake in Panthers history was drafting McCaffrey 8th overall when they could have drafted Mahomes or Watson as insurance behind Cam. McCaffrey just went back to IR. Only ten games played in the last two seasons for CMC and the QB situation has been a mess since Cam got hurt in 2018.
Its crazy to think that Todd Gurley, Nick Chubb and Sony Michel played on the same team at the same time...
I certainly hope that Chubb and Michel have a long and prosperous career in the NFL.
Hurley and Chubb both got hurt too, I thought Chubb had no chance at the league after his injury.
@@mack626 Chubb carries me in fantasy
Still an amazing career. Just hurts that he didn't get a super bowl under his name but dude was a beast
He barely had a career lol
Yea but he got shutdown during playoff run.
I wish he was still good
it’s really crazy how fast running backs come and go through stardom and how much faster they go through it than any other position in the league (except maybe DB’s ? idk)
I saw eagles vs rams live at LA 2017. Carson Wentz on his best (he got injured that game at 3th qrt after 4 tds)
Todd Gurley at his prime, Kupper Kupp as a rookie lead a Rams comeback
Nick Foles enter the game to back up Wentz injury
I will never forget that game it was amazing
I hope he comes back
I remember i first got into football during the 18/19 season and seeing this guy tear it up and then just dip when i came back this season is saderning
I wish we had Todd Gurley on our team this year. My favorite back besides LT, reggie Bush, and Jerome bettis
bro if only man it makes me cry
You guys remember Marcus lattimore South Carolina running back man if you didn't have any injuries. Do would have been a beast
Yeah that knee injury he had in college was so scary to watch, dude was one of my favorite backs fr
I watched his leg snap vs Tennessee after working so hard to come back from a terrible injury the year before smh. Tennessee targeted lattimore tho
I won a fantasy football championship back in 2015 behind Todd Gurley.... seems like only yesterday.
Thank you Todd Gurley for all the good memories, we wish you nothing but the best for your future endeavors.
I remember watching him carve up my old high school’s rival, East Bladen, in the eastern regional championship his junior year. He has always been a fantastic athlete
I became a Rams fan the year McVay become the Rams head coach(I hadn't watch football since I was a little kid watching Staubach and Dorsett).
Gurley, Goff, the start of Kupp, the start of Arron Donald, Cook, Woods..It was fantastic watching Gurley play..it was horrible watching injury after injury.
I wish him the best..
Poor Todd. I still have his McFarland Rams figure at work because he was still a Ram when we all got transitioned to working remotely at home because of the pandemic. Since my job is still in that phase, the figure is just sitting on my desk at the office.
So crazy when you realize he only played on the rams for 4 years. Puts it into perspective how dominant he was. Football is such a crazy sport everyone is one weird injury away from being a totally different player.
He played on the Rams for 5 years
Wow. That was a well done video!
Still got the tag on my Gurley jersey and will have it hung up in my house for the rest of my life thank you for all your years as a ram and the effort you put in. Horns up!
This video isn’t real. You just showed Jared Goff throw a touchdown pass. You and I both know that’s impossible
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🙂🙂
Honestly it was his injury pileup at UGA that hurt him
Great vid
Right at the start at the video bold.
Like much runningbacks you can also say that about any other teams offense
It breaks my heart about how hard his career was with the ACL injury derailing him
He deserves a chance on a team like he’s a free agent
Great video
Gurley and AB led me to a fantasy chip in 2017, good times
In terms of RBs, does anyone remember Alfred Morris, Demarco Murray, Arian Foster, Doug Martin, and Jay Ajayi? Great RB’s who fell off due to injury or flame outs? They were just dominating the league 5-7 years ago.
Alfred Morris and RG3 was like Batman and robin
I miss this dude so much :(
The injuries just gnawed away his career. When he played for UGA he was awesome, you could just see the talent. He was still a 1st round pick and got a nice 2nd contract, still a pretty damn good career. I have total respect for him and wish him well.
One of our favorite players. Give him a ton of respect. His body gave out, but he is a great leader and gives back at every opportunity. The league should be chasing him to stay involved with the game. When he was healthy....he was the greatest.
I feel for this guy. I really enjoyed watching him and hoped he would rebound with the Falcons but the workload damage was so clear to everyone. Really unfortunate.
this dude makes it sound so sad but my boy is ballin, PERIOD. he got bread so just go coach or literally anything else and be happy of your accomplishments. LLTG3

I’m so happy he got paid. How many players are out there didn’t get paid and were hurt career ending?!?

As a rams fan this almost made me shed tears we miss Todd 🤦🏽♂️💔
Todd Gurley didn’t have a long career in the NFL as he only played 6 seasons with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams and the Atlanta Falcons. This really broke my heart when he retired from football.
There's always that one player that you love to see playing, and you who you highly respect, but never played for your favourite team.
To me, it's Todd Gurley in his prime.

@onkeltom8539 just ke personally. Him and AP are my 2 favorites but God I miss those Goff And Gurley Led rams teams.
I will always appreciate Gurley for winning me my second consecutive fantasy championship. Got him in the second round after picking up Le'Veon Bell in the first and then picked Kamara on waiver his rookie year. Good times.
absolutely will always love gurley
This is why I can never be mad at NFL players, especially running backs holding out.
Exactly, I don't get why fans get mad at players holding out when they get thrown out like trash if they get hurt. Get as much money as you can
The way some of these athletes are, I'm surprised running backs in today's game last more than a couple years. Defenders are so strong and powerful that it's like being hit by a car in some situations. Especially if they target the lower body.
It's crazy how good this kid was now (although AP is a different breed) a man 10 years older than him gets a job before he does
In his prime AP was one of the best to ever do it IMO. Speed, strength , vision. You are right... he was a very different breed
I always put Gurley in the FLEX position in my fantasy league and he was killing. I think like 2 years ago he had that bad injury and he just disappeared.
2 years a ago this dude was a force to be reckoned with
I can already see this happening to Henry of the titans
I have him on Madden still. Chiefs should give him a look
As a Bucs fan I remember thinking Carnell Cadillac Williams was gunna be the second coming but those insane knee injuries destroyed any hopes of that happening too.
He was the player that made me fall in love the football
I mean…. Likely not the point of the video but that’s not how the Myrtle Beach event played out. He likely would have been a pretty good hurdler going 13 mid in the 110 lower hurdles from hs but he would be especially quick if he went to the 200m. Would have loved to see him be a trindon but I want to say another Georgia football player pulled a muscle in track and it ended his 60m HH campaign while at Georgia early
Honestly his story isn't that uncommon of star RBs: 2 or 3 years lights out, then you're washed by age 26. They're a flash in the pan and his story is dime a dozen.
i blame the coach. put all the weigh on one guy to carry a team. that doesn't last long
Dude been having knee problem since college. It’s just caught up him. Hopefully he’ll bounce back next year
What a baller Todd Gurley was, and what a humble, nice guy!! He was probably the most gifted running back I have ever seen play. What a shame his career was cut so short--we would've been talking about him as the greatest ever--perhaps he was the greatest ever!
Still my favorite player of all time 🙏
I’m surprised he’s not at least a backup
Makes me think of how good Marcus lattimore was and could of been when he was at South Carolina that first year how good he looked if he didn’t get hurt
For real tho. He was/is loved in South Carolina man...
@@MrVegasdeuce I know I was actually a sophomore or junior the first year he was there, I was a freshman when Clowney was a freshman…good times to be at USC and watch football games I loved lattimore he looked amazing that freshman year prolly would of been a first round pick or high second round if he never got hurt and would of been good in the nfl it sucks he got hurt

I live in Robbinsville NC. Tarboro is a 1a school and is not big. Here at Robbinsville we are also small, being one of the smallest schools in the state. But Tarboro and us are two of the most successful programs here.
Todd Gurley was great with the rams but that time he got injured he just fell down
@@samkar2212 ouch Ik that hurt real bad but I’m glad your ok cause I never tore anything ligaments in my body
I remember when he was 2nd for MVP in 2017.
Oh he got robbed too because it almost always has to go to a QB. Brady was not deserving of that MVP
@@Loganbub It was probably a make up MVP, because it was a weak year. Besides, the fact that Brady has only won 3 MVPs in his career should be a crime in it of itself.
Players like Shaun Alexander, CJ2K, Priest Holmes, Larry Johnson, Jamal Lewis, and Jamal Charles are some examples of all time great careers cut short by over use. Looks like Barkley and McCaffrey next, thankful Zeke has Tony Pollard now.
He is still a legend. He was a warrior and has some miles on him now but once a legend your never a has been that's ridiculous. I tried like hell to get an autograph jersey from him and still would
I feel like his knee was busted because he returned too early in his rookie year. If he rested for some more time, he would’ve lasted longer.
Also his workload
"NFL'S Derrick Rose" 💀
Need one of these for Lev’eon Bell
I don’t know why no one is picking him up he would make a amazing backup
He was way overused on the rams. If they hadn't used him so much he might still be playing today
Nah he was already drafted with a knee problem
Can't blame the Rams. Todd had terrible injuries in college. Arthritis set in before he turned pro. Glad he got 5 years of excellent pro money. People considered him damaged goods coming out of college and were shocked the Rams drafted him so low. Kudos to him for his perseverance.
Big fact bra they did that then toss him to the curve
that acl injury fucked him up but the rams really did use him od for no reason like fr
@Shaan Keole it's the NFL. Paid millions to perform. Rbs are easily replaceable.
In short he got run into ground by GA and finished off by not giving him a split mate for his carries.
Football is truly a brutal sport especially for star running backs. They have a big target on their backs and all it takes is one hit. Defensive minded players know nothing but smash and they get their piece of mind knowing that they laid a licking on whoever has the ball. Gurley was a star. His short career was incredible. Proud he was a Ram.
injuries have ruined so many careers smh Gurley def deserves a contract still 🤞🏾🐐
If he was fully healthy against the pats in the SB rams would have won.
Disagree bill and that defense would have locked him up
Make rise and fall of Melvin Gordon
He just had a good game lol
I'm glad he was able to get his money tho. Alot of RBs don't get to see that big pay day. The Rams paid him too early but it worked out perfectly for Gurley!
I remember this guys just being one of the best in the game, crazy
I loved him, 2nd chance?
I hope so
with our RB situation, I think we should take a chance on him
He is still rich as hell
This commentator is so much better, and more listenable than the others from this channel I have heard for the NBA.
I remember the Edward Jones dome going insane anytime he'd get the ball. Man I miss that. .
