DDOT 2021 Proterra ZX5 40

Well, paisanos! I managed to secure my 1st ride on the 2021 Proterra ZX5 40' ft bus #2103e operating on route 7 Seven Mile (westbound) to Meijer Old Redford! I was actually heading to West Outer Drive, though. Anyway, DDOT has 4 electric bus unis #2100e-2103e and are the 1st units on the DDOT fleet. SMART also has 2021 4 Proterra ZX5 40' units (#4024-4027) as well, which was an order split-off. Aparently, DDOT will be getting electric buses from New Flyer Industries--which I know the models will be NFI XE40 and XE60 units in the future, while SMART will also be getting electric buses from Gillig--or New Flyer in that matter... Anyway, with that said and done, enjoy the video and let me know what you think! I've ridden a Electric Bus,on #9Jefferson from East Grand Blvd. and Jefferson to Downtown.

I remember i rode one of these Proterra on route 4 and the driver was hauling fast. Thank you very much for these DDOT and SMART bus videos.

What happened to State fairgrounds Transit Center
They're usually found on some eastside routes such as 31 Mack and 9 Jefferson. It can SOMETIMES be found on the westside on 7 Seven Mile. DDOT will be getting 4 new electric-powered buses in the future. All four of them will be from New Flyer Industries and the models will be New Flyer XE40 and XE60. I'm not sure what electric-powered buses SMART will be getting, too... Could be either Gillig or New Flyer.

The Shoemaker bus terminal has a bus battery charger there. There is no charger at the Rosa Parks Transit Center, unfortunately.

Are you talking about the route or the agency?
On the Proterra ZX5 40 ev bus is this the 7 mile route heading into the old Redford Meijer store.and 7 mile road got a lot of rough pot holes between the liversnois and greenfield and Southfield freeway.

Blame the bad roads, not the bus.
@@baul104is that why those other buses got retired they kept breaking down because the road was too bumpy?
@finthehuman6195 It's not just the hazardous roads that may cause problems with buses, it's also lack of proper maintenance and cleaning.
