  • Student-centered learning is Individualized, community-based, experiential, and collaborative. The Learning Community model supports students in all four of these defined areas, as demonstrated by the Norma Rose Point School community in Vancouver, British Columbia.

How marvelous! This school is a great marriage of vital learning spaces and engaged learners and teachers. You can see deep learning principles at work and at play in both the school’s design and the students and teachers’ practices. I loved that the video featured the voices of students, teachers, a parent and the principal. Their testimony carried such natural credibility. It was also inspiring. All in all, this “learning building” represents an outstanding collaboration of educators, students, parents, community members and architects.

As usual, Fielding Nair sets the standard for cutting edge schools. This is such an outstanding example of where schools should be heading!

LOVE IT, this is what all schools and leaning spaces need to look and feel like. The learning experience is relevant and authentic.

Nice video piece Randy. At 64 years old I look back and realize a school like this would have been perfect for me. Keep up the good work!

A fabulous design for a school and a staff that gets it and uses the space in the way envisioned by the architects and educators involved in the design. Congratulations!

Great work FNI! I love the playful glulam "spine", and the collage of cubbies in the Media Centre. Beautiful, thoughtful spaces.

Hey, so great to hear from you Randy. Wonderful job, another FNI 10/10... I expect no less. Now you must come support Mundo Verde in DC and the new international high school we are erecting! I wonder, do you ever touch small projects like playground / outdoor leaning environment design? That's the next immediate challenge. Tedd PS: Please say hello to Prakash... hope he touched base with my international educator friend Sunita Ghandi.

Excellent for these upper-middle class students that may be self-motivated! Have this program and facility design been explored in lower SES populations? Great program and facility design for charter schools.Best Wishes, Ken Tanner

Well done! Would you consider 10/10/10? 10th anniversary of The Language of School Design / Learning = 10 / Spaces = 10. Congratulations to our modern day Henry Higgins for teaching the language of school design. I think Eliza's got it. Be well.
