Arsenal and Bayern Munich’s match was overshadowed by two massive events: Saka’s collision with Neuer, and Gabriel’s hand ball. We will break down why Saka’s collision with Neuer was NOT a penalty, and why Bayern have the right to at least feel aggrieved by the referee’s decision to not give a penalty to Bayern for Gabriel’s hand ball. Plus, Real Madrid and City’s iconic clash, Barça escape Paris with all three points, and Athlete’s slim win against Borussia Dortmund.

Bruh Cubarsi is absolutely insane
Man I was doing integration when I was 17 (about a year back) and this guy pocketing Mbappe
and pinging passes like Busquets
Want to know what you guys were doing when you were 17??
Curbasi , at 17, is pocketing Mbapppe and I, at 17 am watching Curbasi pocket Mbappe
When I was 17?! I probably made a whole lotta pancakes with nutella and watched the football on TV. Maybe my pancakes wasn't that good, but football was great!

Doesn't surprise me to see English pundits and fan arguing that Saka dive being penalty or Gabriel's handball not being one, they never seem to know the rules of the game.
To be fair, Sakas probably would have been given if he didn't dive like an Olympic swimmer. If you look in slow-mo, it looks as though he is already going to make contact with Saka, but then Saka throws his leg out an entire yard and makes it look way too bad. At the very least, he may get an open shot off too if Neuer doesnt make contact.
@@turkeyman631 but the reff didnt see it in slow motion now did he?
@@turkeyman631 he went in to initiate the contact with Neuer, no sane referee would give that
Saka is lucky he didn’t get booked for simulation.
If you want a penalty for a handball that did nothing to the game then you’re only invested in the score line. Rewarding Bayern with a free shot at goal for something they didn’t earn is pathetic.
bro barca had 5 straight clean sheets wdym by "shaky defense"
Yeah the shaky defense was when ter stegen was out and cubarsi wasn’t part of the team. Right after Cubarsi was integrated into the squad and we’ve been solid since then.
Yeah just a mistake on Adrian’s part, it happens. When he last covered Barca a few months ago their defense was woeful so I understand why he said it. Since Cubarsi came in they’ve been so solid

The only blemish is a 3-3 draw againsy Granada
Pretty sure he didn’t see the psg-barcelona match, he saw the highlights for sure. Barcelona played brilliantly for about 60 mins out of the 90 and the highest point probably is their defense and raphinhas stunning display. If you want to keep the narrative that barcelona aint it thats fair but its far from the truth looking at how well they are performing as of late and specifically in this away game against psg. This knockout is Barcelona’s to lose and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them reach the final even.
Anybody with eyes knows that Barça were dominating the entire first half and those 15 extra minutes you referenced. A few bad passages of play made it look like PSG weren’t getting Molly-whopped
Raphinha deserves props from that match
Bro…this Dortmund defence gives me heart palpitations. I grew up with players like Köhler, Sammer, Kree, and Júlio César in our back line. Powerful, intelligent and technical defenders who gave you a sense of calmness. As a teenager, I remember watching the UCL final in 97 against Juventus… I watched these guys go up against prime Zidane, Bokšić, Vieri, Jugovic, and Deschamps! And we won!!! Imagine this lot trying to defend players of that level 😂 Ah dear…if you don’t laugh, you’d cry!
Feeling sad for the fans of dortmund since last 8 years
Last year something exactly like the Gabriel situation happened in Argentina. In a game between Independiente and Colón, centre back Paolo Goltz picked up a pass from a goal kick, and almost the entire Independiente squad demanded the referee to award them a penalty. Eventually he checked it with VAR and gave the penalty.
Perhaps that was the difference: Bayern should have been more vehement in their penalty shout.
I asked some of my friends if Bayern should've received a penalty for such actions and they said no because Bayern were not in an advantageous position, therefore it would be meaningless to give them a penalty. Im not too big on the rules of football so idrk.
6:29 As another fact: Bayern Munich's last defeat in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena was when they lost 2-3 to Paris Saint Germain back in April 2021 (the quarterfinal stage), which was after they won the Champions League the last season (and the only time the winner of the last season's finalist had been eliminated by the beaten finalist on any kind of rematches of the last season's Champions League Final; for this case, Bayern lost on away goal rule, which was also the last time it was used in the Champions League knockout ties). In the next two seasons, Bayern were eliminated in the same quarterfinal stage, but the home leg at the Allianz Arena ended in a 1-1 draw against Villarreal in 2022 and Manchester City in 2023. For the case of the English clubs, Liverpool were the most recent team to beat Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena (they won 3-1 in 2019).
Also, don't underestimate Borussia Dortmund. They can get better results at the fortress itself, the Signal Iduna Park. There is a chance we have the Der Klassiker Final, just like 2013.
Had Gabriel somehow kicked the ball into his own goal, would the ref not give that as it was a dumb mistake?
Clearly not a penalty and I'm an Arsenal fan.
The fact that city can go toe to toe with Real at the Bernabeu even when they are not at their best says a lot of the quality of this team!
City are probably the best team in world right now but that Madrid team is imbalanced. They don't have a starting number 9 and number 1. We'll see when Madrid has Endrik, signed Mbappe and Courtois back.
Important to start booking players in these situations, drawing contacting instead of going around the keeper becoming a huge problem now.
ffs you're 1on1 you can't be defaulting to drawing contact.
I agree, thing is they are booking players already, they’re just not consistent. They pick and choose who they want to give them too.
This is about the 5th blatant refere error towards a german team in the knockout phase... what a joke.
They're trying to give them the 5th spot in the champions
That’s why they didn’t give a hand ball in the box by Gabriel huh
As an Arsenal fan they definitely got it wrong that was a hand ball and saka pen was not a pen so that was correct but kane should have been sent off ages ago and that's a different game
I hope you mean blatant errors against german teams, because that is the truth.
Bayern : - ref refused the clearest hand penalty possible ( it doenst matter that it was a blackout, a ref is supposed to decide according to rules)
- saka situation is not a penalty, he is flying with both feet in the air before neuer even touched him -> correct decision
RB leipzig vs real: ridiculous decisions pro real in both games
Dortmund has also a lot of very questionable decisions against them, not only just this season but for years.
@@Tahmeeewhat?

It always boggles me that playing by the rules can be viewed as not being in the "spirit of the game."
The bigger issue with penalties is consistency. In the premier league 9/10 that Saka collision would be given as a penalty. Here it's maybe 50/50 depending on the official. The rules have somehow become so flexible that defenders don't really know what to do. That's why we're seeing more goals in modern football, its become less of a defensive game.
Yeah thats because UCL have more competent referees
by the rulebooks its never a penalty. its not inconsistency, its bad VAR
That's PLs issue though, the saka situation should be a penalty 0/10 times
That sounds more like a PL referee issue.

Are you sure Atletico Madrid will beat Barcelona for the third time, just like 2014 and 2016?
As a big reminder: Atletico Madrid had never won against Barcelona with Xavi. They had even lost 0-3 at home more recently.
Saka went against Neuer i could've and should have taken the shoot instead
0:27 ooh! Stallions laguna, my local team! They recently signed two Argentinians, one is an ex river plate player.
People, STOP IT!! Starboy dragged his leg, thus making contact with Neuer, looking for contact, AS OPPOSED TO actually attempting to score.
You forgot to mention the post dembele hit before the Christensen goal. It was an easier chance than the one he scored lol
That is Dembele for you, I will always remember him for his Liverpool miss. The man can score bangers but easy ones he cannot.
@@MrISkater why he didnt leave it for pique i have no idea.
But even then how bad does your technique have to be to miss THAT?
I personally don’t think barcas win was that big of a deal. I expected them to defeat psg
Because of Raphinha masterclass, I will braid my hair like him for my birthday Monday.
Trossard has been a starting in some games earlier in the PL season. He’s good but definitely a power sub
When is the March review coming?
Playing that double left winger thing for real worked in that first half to perfection. I wanna see what other counter attacking special tactics ancelotti is gonna come up with. They are going to defend in a lower block at the etihad, but judging from that first game it’s going to all come down to how they counter.
Pep? Defending in a low block?? At home??? What are you smoking?
I didn’t talk about city there at all real are going to do that
Ray Hudson and Andres Cordero were awesome for the PSG Vs Barca game, possibly the best commentary duo.

Arsenal reached this stage in the UCL after ages lol, they seemed a bit clumsy yet they drew with Munchin. About Trossard, he's used as a secret weapon that Arteta feels more impactful as I feel Trossard is an amazing player and he must be implemented well in the 90mins game. Since Jesus and Martinelli aren't in good shape
kane, sterling, saka are normal divers of the ronaldo and suarez academy
😂😂😂😂
You mean the Neymar academy
@truechaosmulala3831 Nah. Ronaldo and Suarez academy. Neymar was their top student.
I seen him on their school website. It was a yr 2014 class photo.
Imo in the Gabriel handball situation, by the letter of the law, taking any context out of the situation it is a penalty.
However common sense dictates that no advantage was taken away from bayern. It is not as if they were pressing at that point in time to get to the ball.
Arsenal typically restart with Gabriel and the pass to raya. So the intention of the action was also taken into consideration.
For the saka situation the intention of the action is also taken into consideration for that decision. Because it appers that saka initiates contact it is not given and is not a penalty.
What i dont see being talked about is the kane elbow on gabriel to the throat. That should be a red.
Either that was a good game and the ref made the right decision for both penalty shouts imo
That Dortmund keeper is immaculate😂😂
He's actually the only reason we aren't midtable
It’s unfortunate Kobel only really has made mistakes in very big games where non-Bundesliga fans are watching, because if you watched him week in and week out you’d know he’s probably top 3 GKs in the world right now. He is absolutely phenomenal and Dortmund would be nowhere near top 4 in the league or in UCL quarterfinals without him

I just realized we had no March recap 😢
They were sll great match upd and I can't wait for the return legs to hold.
Advantage, Bayern, Man City, Barcelona, ATM
I rather like the decision not to give a penalty for the handball by Gabriel. Sometimes, the spirit of the game should be considered. It was essentially a dead ball, and he was in no way attempting to gain an advantage. The ref could have issued a yellow for time-wasting if he wanted to acknowledge that it was a dumb disruptive act.
The Saka challenge was not a penalty. Though I've seen them called.
I thought the refereeing in the City-Real game was excellent.
The city defense is extremely poor. It usually works out because the team is built very attack minded but we're so vulnerable
Atletico's inconsistencies especially against minor clubs in the league were only present when Griezmann was absent. If he starts, its a guranteed positive result for Atletico, but his injury after the first leg against Inter proved to be disastrous a whole to Atletico, who rely on latter for almost all their attacks and open play chances.
no monthly recap for March? ;(((
hard cut on left foot… right foots his landing foot… has no where to land given he cuts so wide.. neuers leg is extended thts alrdy a tackle challege.. theres contact… clear pen
Good video bro!
Tbh Saka should have received a yellow card for intentionally kicking an opponent and a just a disgustingly pitiful dive.
Can anyone explain why Brandt was benched
Seeing barca comeback from that disaster of the start of the second half made my whole week
2 things can be true. Thats right
Saka is lucky he didn’t get a yellow for simulation. Neuer knew what he was doing. It’s this experience that will see Bayern get smoke the gunners at the Allianz next week.
Everyone is making way too much of the Haaland situation. It is a tactical choice by Pep. The same thing happened last year. City don’t do too much in Madrid and Haaland got much more involved at the Etihad because City pushed more.
Barca’s shaky defence? I would definitely suggest him to watch the match again.
As a Mexican Arsenal fan, no era penal 😢
People always underestimate Bayern and pay the proce for it
That is how Arsenal take goalkick? Proven by many videos. It wasnt a goalkick by Raya but a here is your ball kick...
Saka's was not a penalty, he lept forward into the defenders leg to create the illusion of a foul.

It’s ok Adrian, we know (for a long time now) that you’re secretively a Munich Fan. No need to try to hide it. I guess Portugal being defeated so many times (National Team) gave u some sort of Stockholm Syndrome.
Argentina got a penalty for this in the World Cup against Croatia and everyone said that it is a penalty, now this is not penalty?
Lmao its not the same. Croatia GK raised his leg when Alvarez was going in to prevent him passing and hit the player, but Saka was the one to aim for Ter Stegen legs. Please, stop with the copium revolving this game.
@@KadaEklund GK raised his right leg and arms to make his body bigger while being in the same place (left foot on the ground, arms and right leg extended kinda like handball GKs) then he put his hands back down and started to draw his right leg back to his body( the leg that was extended, his other leg is still on the ground firmly planted) and alvarez bumps into him while GK is turning his body sideways with his arms by his side to avoid contact and drawing his extended leg back to himself, its all there on video

Arsenal dove at least 2 times in the box😂 Havertz and saka deserved a Card in this Game tbh.
Sane dive never a pen
That was a pk for me. When you're running you can't change directions as smoothly. Gabriel should have been a pk too lol
but you can try to change direction instead of jumping in the air, dropping your knee and extending one leg to initiate contact. if he wants to change direction, he should do it with 1 foot on the ground or at least dont jump and kick neuer
Saka not planting his right leg can also easily be interpreted as him trying to avoid contact with Neuer. If he plants his right leg, then he either plants it on Neuer, or so close to him that he can't then get around him.
@@tomdip2094 why is he jumping and falling then? if he tried avoiding neuer he wouldnt have chosen to jump into him
you can't handle the ball after the ref blows the whistle too

a boneheaded ref ruined Tottenhams Champion's league final, I will never ever get over that disgraceful call. as to Arsenal, they will lose anyway.
Which match?
Trossard best performances are always from the bench
Better that way
As a city fan it sucks to see just how much a big game player Haaland isn’t. Aguero is clear
3:00 Cannot agree with the “unnatural movement” argument. Run the full clip back and not screenshots of the frames. You see Saka plant right, then take the touch left (where Adrian begins showing the frames), and in an attempt to plant once more and round De Ligt he takes the long stride with his right where Neuer sticks the leg out. Weird movement? Sure. Baiting contact? I won’t argue against you. But by the standards of today’s officiating week in and week out, I can’t see that go unpunished. Gotta move on to the next one though.
We're winning the CL. Visca Barca 💙♥️💯

Corruption is a way of life.
Bellingham got exposed for what he really is, just a bang-average player. I can't see him lasting at Madrid, especially when Mbappe comes. Mbappe's going to take away the goals he's scoring unmarked, leaving him at the mercy of the Madrid fans.

These quarter final games were amazing! Donnarumma though loves to give me a heart attack every match… All 3 goals he was at fault for, no confidence that entire game! Not upset at going into the next leg a goal down cause it could (and probably should) have been more!

Bayern's First goal came from an error in communication between Gabriel and Raya...
Bayern's 2nd goal came from the spot
