It's the theme song of an animation. In the story, human become a fish staying in a in-between stage after they left the world waiting for a new life. They move to next life when they grow big enough. A fish-girl tried to looked for a boy who saved her and died in the sea. She feed him as a baby fish, and wait for him to grow big, see if the fate let them go new world together. The whole story is like in a dream, so the song is like a dream, very light and helpless but full of passion and desire at the end.
The boy can certainly sing.
Big Fish is his signature song where his amazing music Journey starts the rest is history ! Unique vocal Unique personality one-in-a-million !

Zhou Shen sings in multiple languages, but "Big Fish" is a signature tune. He did it with a young woman called Gao several years ago. We have used that version multiple times to send babies off to sleep. They don't need the words, just the song and his voice. It worked EVERY time. Even among sceptics, who even took the trouble to get back to say it soothed their babies off to sleep. (Its from the Anime "Big Fish and Princess Begonia"). And he did a duet last year with Tengger, where Zhou Shen sang Tengger song "Heaven", and Tengger sang "Big Fish". ❤️ Zhou Shen was bullied as a young boy, and man so went to Ukraine to learn... Dentistry. Whilst in Ukraine he was told to pursue his singing career. And the rest is History.
Have you done his version of "Monsters"? Katy Skye who wrote it, appeared on "British Jack's" CZcams Channel to REACT to it. 😳 She loved it so much, that she went on to sing "Big Fish" in Mandarin, and put it on CZcams, as a Thank You to Zhou Shen for making her "Monsters" popular in China.

He is stunning. Zhou (sounds like Joe) Shen is one of a kind. This is an OST. You can English subs for this performance. This has become a signature song for him. His latest version on the Time Concert series shows how much he continues to grow. The notes he hits there are stunning. He studied bel canto and you just got to experience it at the end of the song. I can listen to him every day. Check out Ring the Doorbell or Da La Beng Ba.

The song is definitely not my cup of tea at all, BUT his voice is gorgeous, and he puts that emotion into it, which always elevates a vocal performance. Lovely job!

Though Big fish means a lot to Zhou Shen, but personally I don’t like the melody. He has so much better songs after this.
