Binge watched The Witcher like mostly everyone. I was a bit disappointed by this season because all the beloved characters were not the real center of attention, in the profit of the politics of the show. Still wanted to make a Yennefer video since she's my favorite. Thanks for watching !

Anya's interpretation of Yennifer is one of the strongest female characters I've ever seen grace the cinema. She absolutely demands your attention in every scene that she is in. Simply confident and powerful.
That's is also good writing. Powerful female? Hell yeah. Overpowered Mary Sue? Hell no.
The writing for Netflix Yennefer is terrible.

Yennefer is pure duality of power and vulnerability and I love her evolution in every scene. The understanding of her own power, her interactions with Tissaia being clearly a maternal moment, her guidance to Ciri, her dialogues with Istredd, Cahir and Jaskier and how Yen, Ciri and Geralt starts to form this " destiny family". I just love her 💜
Yen is highly conflicted. Yet she shows her love for ciri geralt and tissaia.
In the end, Jaskier was one of the characters that never doubted her and her chaos. And I really love that.

He hated her. *Past* tense. Because he knew what she was capable of. And in his own words it turned her into "An empty, lonely, power hungry she-demon." And then he met her again after she had to find a new purpose... and empathized with the new person he saw. "Chaos could never be done with the likes of you... Yennefer of Vengeberg, of that much... I am certain. So if it's all the same to you: goodbye, good luck... good riddance." Those last two words delivered with such an endearing smile, said it all.
Literally, that last quote is what made me cry

I started crying when Geralt flinched when Yennefer cut her wrist. You can really tell how scared he is for losing her again and that broke me. Great performance by Henry, Anya and Freya... ALL CAST! Can't wait for season 3!!! Thank you for this great video

This is so good I actually thought it was done by Netflix and the producers! Absolutely amazing work! Yennefer is by far my favorite character and this definitely showcases why. From her strength, vulnerability. Confusion, clarity! The emotional roller coaster Yen takes us on is mind blowing! Anya has taken this character from paper and games and turned her into a living breathing individual that is magnetic. She draws you into her convictions, that raw emotion, which makes us totally forgive her at every step. Pure perfection.

Honestly really great editing. I see a lot of myself and my relationship with my man in Geralt and Yennefer. Long time Witcher fan. We both are similar traits of these characters so as the geek I am I can't help but 'want' to be Yennefer XD. Like I'm so much like her it's scary how her self destructive tendencies hit home. Geralt is there and loves and wants to be with Yen but she just finds every reason to not feel she has worth and value and purpose in and of herself. She doesn't realize she doesn't need power, she doesn't need to have a baby to have the one thing she really has valued and desired all along--a family. She has had that regardless of her strict views on what would bring her happiness, regardless if Geralt ever walked into her life, she still had a family with her sisters, but her life with Geralt kind of just completes the circle as he was destined to have a child, so therefore she got her desire even if it wasn't a baby and teen instead. If you think bout it, it make total sense. Her cruel upbringings and wanting to be important to someone due to the years of abuse she endured for not only being mixed blood, but physically different. I'm glad they started to show her true scholarly intellectual side in these season as the first season just over sexualized her. Yen really is pretty A sexual until she meets Geralt. She only has two major lovers, Istridd and Geralt. Geralt is way more sexual than she is. lol She is also way more stoic--so that is at least accurate. But yes, in terms of Anya's acting, I'm always floored. She's in her mid-late 20's and so brilliant.
I still come back to this. A good summary of her arc, despite it being fiction I find nuggets of wisdom

To be honest I watch the show Just bc of her and the World making of the show. Geralt became boring after the 4th episode of season 1. The dude literally has Just one emotion and its always the same thing even in season 2 lol.

I'm still not clear as to why she got her power back?
She had lost it at Soddem because fire magic was banned right?
So when she sacrificed herself for Ciri why she got it back? Who gave it to her?
She got her powers back when she sacrificed herself for Ciri to become the vessel of Voleth Meir
@@ncxle5191 Now my guess is that ths mother took her powers to make her desperate and feed on her desperation. When that mother was sent to another sphere Yennefer's eyes turn purple again indicating she got it back.

I took it as. Her powers were never really gone but blocked. She was told by the Deathless Mother she had none? Doesn’t mean she didn’t just that it was blocked off from her. When she sacrificed herself is when she unbounded herself from that pain and regained her abilities. Her eyes this entire season have been purple that has not changed, however when Volith Mere was drawn into Yen, her now vessel, Yen’s eyes brighten in color signaling that Volith Mere was now within Yen. Just like when she took over Ciri, her eyes brighten in color as well, bright green.
I feel like the director wants to pull some bad cosmic joke with the audiences.
After S01. I'm sure not just me... rather everyone would want to see Yen's powers which she has none for the entire shows till the very last second.

Im sorry but Yennifer wasn’t Jennifer this season. She was something and someone else. And I am disappointed.
Yeniffer, even before she was powerful, even when she was deformed and sold off, was always angry frustrated and defiant. She was never sheepish. She was never hiding her shame. She was always throwing something in your face. She was always making comments that were insightful yet biting and witty. Just think of that moment when she tells Geralt that she had a plan. And he says and that was going swimmingly. Her response was to admit the truth. But look at the way she admitted it. She says “like a drowning fish”. That’s Yennifer! There was not one scene in season two when we saw a glimpse even a small glimpse of that season one Yeniffer. And I think it’s a crying shame. Losing her powers doesn’t mean she has a personality transplant. Someone at Netflix needs to wake up smell the coffee and really make sure the writers understand that season one Yennifer I’d the one we love. Season two was someone who was sheepish about losing her powers, shying away not telling people she was losing her powers, not saying anything to anyone that was insightful or biting. When I asked why she doesn’t portal them out of here, she replies it’s complicated. Season one Yennefer would’ve said oh and you’re a mage, now! You know what it takes to portal someone out of here?
I’m sad that no one is addressing this no one is pushing the directors are the actors to face up and realize that the failure of season two is the loss of this character! In spite of everything that goes well and goes right this one thing goes wrong and it’s sad because it’s a big deal! It’s like Yennifer just isn’t Yen anymore!
While I love season 1 Yennefer, season 2 Yennefer is just as great. I like that we get to see the meek side of Yen the one that’s hiding under all her rage and pain. They really showcased a different side of her, the side that we haven’t seen since she started her training at Aretuza. Yen this season wasn’t her typical self cause she was missing her chaos. Something she’s used to define her life and her purpose. Without it she feels she’s nothing, in her mind she’s thinking “what’s so great about Yennefer of Vengerberg if she’s not a sorceress?” The season really showcased how complex and multi faceted she is as a character.
I agree. I loved Yen even more this season because of her show of vulnerability, but she still kept her wit and intelligence! That is what makes shows and characters likable! You can’t have multiple seasons with one of your main characters a no character growth. That would get boring real quick.

She didn’t kill him because she doesn’t like being used for political gains. If she were to have killed him it would have been something else they wanted from her! They would have blamed her for anything they could, and on it would go.
So for her she’d rather take her chances on her own and get back “what she deserves” on her own terms. She used him to gain entry into Centra seeing Nilfguard took it over. She needed him, he needed her.
